First degree murder in Florida is capitol punishment or life imprisonment. I'd say shoot for life imprisonment so he can pay back the life that Trayvon now doesn't have.

I agree. This is getting silly. The press appears to be working overtime to discredit the police reports and eyewitnesses. The video was filmed hours after Zimmerman received first aid and got cleaned up. I wonder how long the press was expecting him to keep bleeding?

Of course there would be no national news story if this whole case turns out to be two people acting foolishly leading to a tragic ending and not a racial crime.

To the contrary, I have contributed plenty to the thread that I started.

I have said again and again how silly I think it is for people to take sides in a case that has very little facts being released yet. And I have no grudge against you, but I knew which side you'd take right off the get-go. You always have had some kind of chip on your shoulder about this kind of stuff, it makes your response easy to predict. It makes me wish I could have more influence on people to have a neutral point of view on these kind of things before they run off with it...

Agree 100%. the lawyer for the elderly couple reported Spike Lee has since apologized and compensated them for his azzholic stunt. I'm guessing the figure was high enough that they have "moved on" from the matter, or perhaps persuaded them not to sue Lee.

I think the issue is not which side people are taking but the fact that people are taking sides without knowing all the facts. There's a difference. And the media's distorted reporting of those facts, which you acknowledge, have clearly influenced many to take sides without knowing what really happened.

Exactly. The point is if you know you're not getting all the details, then how can you ethically take sides? Unfortunately, when "race" issue was suggested in this case, it quickly clouded many people's judgement of the facts.

Taking sides without all the facts. Sure it makes sense, never said it didn't. But are you also suggesting we don't have an opinion on the situation even if we don't have all the facts?

What would it matter at that point to suppress the opinion or not? ...unless the opinion the majority of people have differs from yours, i guess i could see reason for suppression in that case.

But who really cares WHEN people have an opinion? That's not anyones call to make. People will ALWAYS have an opinion, too early or not. If you'd wish to not share your opinion until you have the facts, then that's just your decision.

I forgot there is a 5th side...those with malicious intent. So it's the defendant, the prosecution, those with out a clue, those with malicious intent and finally hidden away in a box somewhere is the truth. I can't form an opinion until I know all the facts. There is one opinion I do have, the media has handled this as a test to see how far we'll go if fed hand picked piece of information. Most of the controllable idiots have been swinging to that tune. Sure you are allowed to have an opinion, that's not the issue. How you can have an opinion based on what the media has fed you is beyond me. That's where my head is at.
