I've been in fist fights where I was not worried about getting killed. What a great new world it is.

^ That's what I'm thinking. If they let this guy walk, that will be unF*ckingreal.

The point is, the guy had a direct order from the 911 operator NOT to chase the kid. But he made the poor decision and just did anyway. He get's punched and his head smacked up, and then the kid gets shot.

What happens when you're a kid and your mom tells you not to touch the hot stove, but you do? You get BURNED. That's how life is, and given the evidence we have as of right now, that's how it should BE. Not to mention, the kid was unarmed. he would not have enough time to kill the guy with just his bare fists. Bumps cuts and bruises vs loss of life? Come on now.

Does anyone smell another "Casey Anthony" trial, IF any? (Would show how F*cked up the courts system in Florida is.)

I demand the judicial system in Florida to go under full federal review.

And you know this how? Is it possible that he turned away and the kid came back after him? Have we heard any facts about what happened in the time between when the operator told him not to pursue and when Trayvon got shot? I'm pretty sure all I've heard is speculation.

Again, some reports say he went for Zimmerman's firearm. If he had Zimmerman on the ground (as at least one witness claims) and was going for his handgun, that is a HIGHLY dangerous situation. Again, I said if here. I don't know, and I don't think you do either. Since I don't know for sure, I'm certainly not ready to condemn Zimmerman yet. I don't know how anyone can be without having all of the facts.

In her case it appears that the facts did not support murder. They may not in this case either. Our court system in this country requires proof beyond a reasonable doubt. If that's effed, I'd hate to see what we would call the alternative.

Absolutely. But forgive those of us who think your opinion in nonsensical as it appears to be based on speculation rather than facts.

I called you a retard because you jumped to conclusions and made boneheaded assumptions, engaging in an argument with me about claims I never made, contended, or believed in.

And it seems you've made similar assumptions about a case where the facts are still being investigated.

Lets all have some cheez-its and beer for a minute...

...I'm serious. You'll all feel better, I promise. Then let's reconvene with level heads. Most everyone agrees with each other thus far anyway, just some people are "leaning" to one side more than another.

Also, I was wondering how long it would be before there was a bizarro KKK (you know, polar opposite). It would appear the modern Black Panthers have taken that role. The bounty really isn't helping matters.

Also, that police department (while they already look bad for reasons already mentioned... not prepared to deal with something like this) would really look awful if the dude fled the country and was later found to be guilty somehow.

whatever happened to civil debates where everyone was allowed to have their own opinions on a subject without attacking each other like school children? you guys took this one way too far.

Isn't it all wonderful how conjecture takes the place of proof beyond a reasonable doubt in public opinion?

Jordan, you can't assume that the kid was innocent just because he was unarmed, just like you can't assume the guy was guilty of murder just because he had a gun. All you have is a bunch of hearsay and your opinion, which is worth nothing when the system runs on facts alone. YOU go back to the kiddie table.

Yet you still have yet to explain what you meant by posting that stereotypical picture. Prove me wrong if you're saying I'm putting words in your mouth. Chances are high that you're bullshitting.

And furthermore, assumptions can't be made now? What I said was an educated guess given what we've been provided with. My hypothesis on the situation. If i want to think that somebody is guilty, I'll say it. If i'm proved wrong, then whatever I'll move on. It's like a NFL game, you want somebody to win but you don't know who will. And there's always an audience with theirsupported 'team'. Assumptions.

^ And your opinion, about my view, is that it's not logical [sic] (illogical)....see how it kinda goes around like that? In the end, it's my hypothesis on the situation, nothing more or less.

If you would rather not make a hypothesis, nobody is forcing you to! But don't tell me that I'm not allowed to make a hypothesis because you're opinion is that it's illogical, your opinion has no more weight than anyone elses does. This is a public forum, and I have the priviledge in writing all over it as long as I stick to the rules, which I believe I'm also doing correctly.

Here's another hypothesis, Jesda's a racist due to posting a stereotypical picture up, and not saying why. Leads me to believe, Jesda is a racist. :gotme

LOL Jesda I really don't care what you are since you're not me. I'm not upset. Be stereotypical if you want, I just hope you're aware of how posting a controversial picture, in the manner you did, can make people react.

Racial conversations are a touchy subject, I still have yet to figure out what you really meant behind that picture, but generally posting the promotion of a stereotype is a bad idea and usually ends up in a heated discussion as it already has. I'd like this conversation to stay on track and this tangent finished, so If we're done with it, cool.

i think what he was implying by posting that picture was how the media picks certain images to draw a certain reaction and emotion from the viewers. in the case of zimmerman, they don't broadcast a vibrant, well dressed man, but a sad looking mug shot. as with trayvon, they don't show his myspace pics dressing sloppily and sucking in his lower lip in an attempt to look mean and hard, instead they chose his middle school yearly photo where he's smiling big and wearing nice clothing.

now, do any of these photos paint the true picture as to who both were as people? maybe, maybe not, but the majority of the audience seeing them will paint their own pictures of who these two people were/are based on the visual cues presented.

^ That's nothing new and doesn't surprise me one bit.

Dave, this is not a court of law. We are discussing a case which none of us have inside info on. How do you remove conjecture from public opinion?

On that note, you've contributed nothing to this topic, other than fulfilling some sort of grudge against me. Chill-lax, change your tampon, and I'll catch you later.

You CANNOT be serious. You had an entire argument by yourself, against me, with statements I never made, nor believed in. You went off on an unrelated tangent while I was specifically criticizing the media for using imagery to portray good and evil, shaping public opinion before all of the facts were available.

Just to be crystal clear, so I don't have to repeat myself again:
I called you a retard because you're a knee-jerk reactionary who jumps to conclusions and fills in your own blanks, not for any opinion you have on the case.

Most importantly, I sincerely apologize for calling you a retard. I give time and money to local/regional activities programs for mentally disabled children and young adults. By calling you a retard I insulted all of them by associating them with you. They deserve better than that.
