I keep noticing that no one is getting the 6speed manual one...I wonder why? Automatic has always been so boring to drive for me. In manual you feel the motor and the road so much more, you become an extention of your car, its much more visceral. and bonus, you get better fuel economy lol

Part of the issue is most people are getting the 3.5. Nissan isn't releasing many of them with manual transmission. Also, the new CVT is incredible. It makes up for the fuel efficiency issue with manual. The way this car handles, you become an extension of the car anyway. The handling makes up for the shifting. Drive the CVT. You will understand. It is worth not having the manual. However, I didn't want to order mine. I think many people will be the same. Since few are being issued with manual, most of these will be sold with CVT.

It's a shame nissan isn't making them all manual by default and only CVT if ordered.

Yes I originally wanted the manual (which would have had to been ordered). All 5 or 6 dealers I went to said they were ONLY getting the 6-speed in the I4 flavor. They even went so far to say the 6-speed really wasn't that nice for this car (how they would know I can only imagine would be because thats what Nissan told them since they don't have any yet).

After driving the CVT in the Coupe and a 6-speed Sedan (both V6) I changed my mind. To me it seems like Nissan is really pushing CVT in this car regardless (prolly as to promote the technology that they see as the future). It really is so seamless and fluid; though I think it will take some time getting used to not even hearing it shift.

This is my first non-American car (been a Ford guy since I could drive). So this car is like mind changing for me in just about every way.

The power of that V6 just blows me away. My last car was a V6 but it only outputted 172hp (nearly the same as the I4 in this car!). Being able to just lightly tap on the gas to pass people and such is mind blowing; this engine doesn't even work a sweat up. I've yet to really lay into it ... I think I'll let it break in a little first.

I've been checking dealers around here in Montreal and they tell me the same thing...end of June, early July. But if you don't order one now you'll wait till September for the nex batch. I think that's BS because other dealers have told me the next production run is in July for delivery in August.

Quote »I have not seen any on the road at Vancouver. Somehow, in the USA, the launch has been very well organize with dealers getting some show cars on May 25/07 as advertise in many of the car magazines...but in Canada, dealer knowledge is very poor....some has no idea when the launch is suppose to be or when they are going to get cars.
After speaking with 4 different dealers I think they're totally clueless or lying through their teeth to get a sale. Sad how they conduct themselves. This is my first time dealing with Nissan and I think their sales force in Canada needs some serious training.

Quote »Both dealer I look at put $5,000 dealer markup on the car (I don't think they will get it) and also put 20 inch chrome wheels with either 255 or 245 tires on them.
Definitely not any better here. I've received quotes ranging from $36K to $39K CAD. Based on a review I read on a Canadian website the 3.5 SE with CVT has an MSRP of $32K. Add to that about $1,500 for transport & other fees and I figure that's about $4-$6K over MSRP. Now $500 I could understand & try to bargain but $4-$6K is a deal-breaker for me.

I know its receiving a lot of good reviews and I still like the car very much. But at this premium I think its price-gouging and somewhat condescending of Nissan.

The more I talk to Nissan dealers, the more I lean towards waiting for the Accord Coupe. At least I know when that's coming out!

It is funny Timmyt,

I have seen 2 coupes actually taken home by people on this website, me and you. We are both in Ohio and both named Tim. LOL!!!! How's that for coincidence.

Did you get yours at Buckeye Nissan? If so I think I saw it in person actually. =)

(I'm pretty sure ours are the only ones sold in Ohio period. I've been watching the inventories and none at least in NE Ohio are selling. I drove one at at a dealer near here the DAY they came out and THEY still have it!)

I attempted to use that as a bargaining point (the fact they weren't selling) but since mine had the Nav System they weren't willing to budge much at all. Especially since the only other one in the tri-state area that had a Nav System was an I4.

But I got a GREAT trade-in value for my '02 Mercury Cougar XR so it all worked out. =)

YEAH!! I did get mine at Buckeye!! If you saw it, you saw it by the first Saturday they were allowed to sell it because that is when I bought it. I think Nissan North sold one too because they had one in their inventory but when I went by last week to see it, I didn't see it there. They were closed so I couldn't ask if they sold it. I was able to get $300 off sticker but that was because my GF bought a Maxima at the same time. I also got full payoff for my Titan that I traded in even though it had some body damage. All and all I think I got a good deal on it. Do you like the Nav? I regret not getting it. Not sure if you are interested but Buckeye told me there is a spoiler coming soon and they would sell it to me for cost. They are supposed to call when they are out.

I can't imagine what a spoiler would even look like on it. It's so classy looking I'd hate to rice it up. :x So I'll wait to see what that looks like; but just looking at it I can't see it on there. The dealership I ended up buying from told me they could get me accessories and stuff at cost since I paid full price. (BS). I told them I wanted the rubber floor mats for sure (for winter).

Yes I got the only V6 w/ a Nav in a pretty big area (tri-state). Theres a ton of V6's with the premium package in this area but this was the only one with Nav. The dealership told me they ordered one fully decked out and one bare bones as they are in between a yuppie area and the hood and thats the customers they get. Either people who want everything or people that want bare bones.

I found a valve stem cap missing already today! Grrrr! I'll have to stop over to the local Nissan dealership after closing tonight and snag one off the one they got.

But yeah if you get some spoiler pics I'd love to see. The dealership I bought it at ... actually installed these stupid looking fin things near the rear wheel well on mine and made them remove them because it looked all ricey. I was like WHO would do that without the customer asking for it?

Anyway ... time for my workout ... peace! ~Tim

The spoiler is not out yet. I have a request in to the dealer to call me as soon as it comes out. I will look at it. If it looks cheesy, I won't get it but I can definitely see on on it. If I get it, I will definitely post pics.

Timmy,

Do you like the Nav? Does it work well? I am thinking about ordering it and putting it on. I really regret it. However, if it isn't that great, I will just get a Garmin.

Take a look at the Infiniti G37's spoiler, as it's rear is similar to the Altima Coupe's...the spoiler might end up looking similar as well.

I saw the spoiler on a camouflage coupe, on a spy shot, I think it is the same as on the G37 like ACoupe said.

The Navigation System is a dream! Almost everything in my area is mapped and the turn-by-turn directions kick arse! The only thing that kills me is it's using the same DVD that comes in the '07 Sedan (as it hasn't been updated yet) so a new one will most likely come out in the fall and I'll have to get it. I just need to find out how to pirate one and load it though as I'm not paying 200 bucks for it! =) I've seen them on eBay for like 80 bucks, etc.

Other then getting the update everything works awesome. I thought about not getting it ... but it JUST so happened the one dealer I went to had one with it I was amazed! I'd hate to have to have an after-market device mounted on the dash or something, it's so much nicer to just have it integrated. Plus it puts all the stereo controls and such on that screen so you get a lot more information and it's easier to navigate. I wish they would have integrated the vehicle maintenance into the screen as well though. That would be the only addition to it I would have liked to seen.

Only other tech thing that irks me a tad but I knew about it before I bought the car is the keys getting erased by your cell phone!

The dealership told me there IS going to be a recall on the keys for this car (07' Sedan and '08 Coupe as well as the G35 Sedan) and I should receive notification about getting replacement ones in October but no later then November.

This is of course in regards to the Cell Phones erasing the programming on the key! Kicker is they can't even be re-programmed because the cell signal apparently hoses the chip on the key.

Yeah I'm not sure that I'd get one but I am interested to see what a spoiler would look like.

Thanks for the comments ... Everyone that's seen it so far has given me praise about it.

Looks great ... especially with the tinted windows (which I want)!

I am somewhat scared to have that done though because the cops in this area are so anal about it. I am not sure what is even technically legal as it varies from city to city.

Timmy,

It is my understanding is that the worst they can do is give you a fixit ticket to have it removed. I want to do it too. It looks really nice.

Anyway to splice in an audio/video input via the rear camera input?Would love to use the NAV to view DVDs when PARKED. I know having a player in the front seat while driving is deadly and well as illegal.

Also is there anyway to use a RAM chip/thumb drive/USB input viceleaving the map DVD in the unit. A friend of mine says they tend towalk while in the shop.

What is stupid is in this state the state law says 50% - non-reflective. But almost every city/county has it's own local ordinance regarding it. Which you would think would be trumped by state law but I hear all the time about people getting pulled over and harassed for tint.

I understand from the cops point of view that tint is a bad thing. A friend of mine who is a cop actually told me thats one of those things that just gives them an itch. hehe ::shrugs::

Then you also have the whole out of state thing ... if you drive into New York where it's 100% illegal or whatever I guess they actually have the right to ticket you?

im torn between the premo package or the standard one. all i really want from the premo is the bose audio and HiD headlamps, and i dont feel like the $3200 is worth it. i feel like i can get an aftermarket system and possibly an indash nav system and still pay half what the premo package would cost me. (in addition, i wouldnt mind upgrading to 18" rims) what is everyones thoughts on this? is the premo package worth it?

also, im divided between the dark slate, precision grey and azure blue. if youve purchased any of these colors, can you post some (or more) pics? thanks!

I have posted my pics of my car in a couple of the rooms including this one. Go back a page or two and you will see them. I posted them as links but they work. I got the Azure Blue with the premium package (charcoal leather). You get the leather seats with that. That alone was worth it for me. I wasn't buying a car without leather heated seats. As for the HID lights, they have already saved my a$$. I was on a back road in Pennsylvania and a deer was on the side of the road. I know for a fact I wouldn't have seen it without the HID lights. I was able to stop just quickly enough before it bounded across the road. With regular lights, I hit the deer, no doubt about it. So, I would say, yeah, they are worth it. The Bose is awesome. However, it is the most insignificant part of the package. The Nav doesn't come with the premium package. It is sold as an individual item or in the Tech package (includes the rear camera). I regret not getting the Nav and may install it later. For now, I can live without it. I can't live without the Leather and the HID lights.

If I were you I'd forget about precision grey, I found it to be a really boring color. If you want to make people go as soon as you drive next to them, then go for Azure blue, but if you want them to stare at you thinking: .oO{man that's one good looking car}then go for Dark slate.

Me, I chose Azure blue (Adriatic blue here in Canada) because I'm young (lol) and I want people to go

I wanted Azure Blue at first, but now want Dark Slate. It is a really stylish color and sporty at the same time, I changed after I've seen pictures of the car in that color. Here are my color options:1. Dark Slate2. Black3. Azure Blue4.

Can't wait!
