unreliable - my 89 turbo targa had 218k with original head and bottom end. lsd worked, headgasket was intact, interior was damn fine. depends on how you treat them.uninspiring - renowned 7mgte engine with coil packs, TEMS, incredibly durable transmission, sleek looks, EASILY and CHEAPLY modified/work on, how is that not inspiring?overweight yes (3800 lbs) but in it's class (grand touring) that is nothing out of the ordinary. plus if you had ever rode in one, it does not feel like it. the suspension is refined enough to feel solid yet provide a nice ride.

having owned a mint mk3 turbo and an equally mint SS 300zx, i can easily say that in all respects the mk3 goes above and beyond.

there are many MANY crappy and rundown mk3's running around unfortunately, which may have influenced your decesion.

I don't know about Tiburons being over-rated, but I definitely agree about the Turbo Bricks. There's something perversely cool about an ugly, square station wagon that's fast as hell. If I had one I'd give it a coat of rustoleum and some curb feelers to finish out the ugly but fast motif.

Interesting choice. On one hand, it's a Porsche, so you could argue that it's starting off from a position of "over-rated". Still, the Boxster does have the odd stigma of being the "Porsche for ladies".

I find the unquestioning devotion to the rear-engine 911 to be kind of odd. Do the 911 faithful really believe that the Boxster's not a Porsche because it's mid engine?

Z32's are rare? I see a couple everyday, atleast.And I still don't get the whole skyline vs z32 thing; we never got Skylines, so most people don't even know/care about them. Not sure what you mean by a cult following price, but a genuine TT sportscar that's sexy as hell for <$10k seems fair.And of course I know they have a giant following;
