I wouldn't say that the Z32 is underrated, I'd just say that the MKIV supra is vastly overrated.

I find the unquestioning devotion to the rear-engine 911 to be kind of odd. Do the 911 faithful really believe that the Boxster's not a Porsche because it's mid engine?
No, it's not a Porsche because it's watercooled!

It's not a Porsche because it's not a sports car. It's like a slightly less gay Camry Solara Convertible that's still ugly and still overpriced.

OK, but is the Cayman S a Porsche? It did reputedly spank the Carrera S on the 'Ring. I'm sure 911 owners around the world shed a tear when they read that.

My dad's old VW Bug was aircooled, but I'm pretty sure that didn't make it cool. Actually, what made it cool was that it smelled like a wet sheepdog and you could see the road going by through the holes in the floor pan.

I don't think the Boxster is ugly, although I do prefer the Cayman. The 2nd gen Boxster is a stylistic improvement over the first gen, IMO.

Whoa whoa whoa?

Miata>S2000>TA? Makee no sensee!

Also,Mojo, I looooooooooooove the Cayman S. I was kidding about the aircooled bit, as I remember when the watercooled 911's came out, there was an aircooled rebellion. I, however, love all Porsches. Minus that Cayanne business.

Think outside the box, 6k for that TA would be a good buy. I could sell it later on and make a few $$$ I wasn't actually serious about my lowball offer to Statix but would still buy it if he said yes. I am still waiting for a nice S2000 though.

This has now become the "Cool, not-so-common-anymore cars" thread apparently...

(Owned an AW11, 626 GT Turbo, and have a GVR-4; all cool cars but the 626 would probably be the only one that qualifies as "underrated," and they're only quick once modded anyhow...)

Ditto. It had good really underrated cars in the beginning of the thread now everyone is just naming cars that if they were more common would be rated but because no one has heard of them, they are then proclaimed "underrated" which they aren't, they are just rare!

Not technically a "car", but I feel that Jeep Cherokee's are highly unappreciated and underrated.

They have lots of power, are beasts in the snow, are cheap to buy/maintain, and they're a dime a dozen! People tend to take them for granted though.
