And I have to agree that the black goop is horrible LOL. I tried doing a set of DIY Jspecs a while back and that stuff was horrible to deal with, it got everywhere. But I decided to wait to get the real deal someday instead of rocking the fake ones. Yours look great!
Thanks man! Welcome to NICO!!

Glad to see it up and running. I hope to hell of that rear main....

I def think 0-20 is way to thin. Do you know what its rated for according to the internal specs? Other than that, I imagine having a smile on your face all the way down the highway lol. Congrats.

:) I just started it on 0-20 and drove for 100 miles since everything was wearing and stuff I wanted to make sure the oil could get in the tight places. Now I'm running 5-30 Mobile 1.

What does Kyle recommend when it comes to oil weight/type on his built engines? I hear good things about rotella t6 from a lot of tt guys and the price is nice as well. I was never to impressed with the mobil 1 in my engine it seemed to break down and feel gritty pretty quick.

I liked Amsoil when I used it.

They have super detailed reviews, including post-run lab tests. Surprisingly, Royal Purple does terribly.

Going Amsoil as well once I'm done with the initial oil changes. I've been using it for almost 6 years in my diesel truck, and it's awesome

Well really for the break in period it doesn't really matter based on what I was told. Considering I only ran the 0-20 for a hundred miles - no boost. From what I understand it has to do with precision since my engine was freshly put together all the clearances were tight so I needed to run a light oil to get the oil in the small places.

Now I'm running 10-30 Mobil 1. I wonder if your Mobil 1 experience has to do with your climate? I know of alot of people down south running Mobil 1 with good results so currently I have no reason to change, although I have been looking at AMSOIL for a while now.

Why did you stop using it?

I'm thinking about it as well.. Currently in my break in I'm able to boost now I have ~700 miles on it next oil change is 1000 miles, once I get to the 1000 mile oil change she is completely broken in and I'll consider switching even more at that time.

Stopped ordering it, lmao. Anthony (Pezi) gives a NICO discount on Amsoil. He's an authorized vendor. I'll probably get some next change.

Just an FYI, I'm an Amsoil reseller as well. You can pay $20/year to become one. I buy 12qts for my Cummins' oil change, and now 4 for the Z. I save nearly $50, so a $30 savings after my reseller fee.

Haha possibly...

I just had a package from SZ come in. :)

Backstory: After we completed the rebuild I saw that my gear rack randomly decided that it wanted to start leaking now which it wasn't leaking before :squint: .

So anyway I had purchased a re-manned gear rack from SZ but after I had got it I had started thinking about just replacing all the common issue parts related with the powersteering system so thats what I did... I ordered a new TT high pressure hose assembly and I was searching for a used mint condition OEM TT fanshroud and after I gave up on that seemingly impossible quest I had decided to just fess up and buy a new one as well.

I bought a 300* brake master cylinder brace from IPP when I was in north Houston the other day. One does not simply go visit IPP and not buy anything. :)

I thought I remembered you getting one. Its such a great little piece. Its the cheapest performance part for the Z haha.

Definitely. What brake fluid are you running? I've got the 350z track rotors and new Centric pads and sometimes I can tell the heat makes the 'tightness' of the brakes differ

Regular Royal Purple is junk, their HPS is the only stuff worth running.

:chuckle: I already put it on hah. It has the fins. I'll eventually get another one and shave it (when I find one). I just don't want to shave the new one.

Hey Mr.300ZXttZMAN,

That is one impressive line up of mod's and fixes you had going! Did you ever get Her tuned and dyno'd? I would be real curious of what you ended up with for rwhp or bhp for that matter. I am taking my ride to Edmonton Ab. in May to get Greg and Seb to tune and dyno this ride of mine, not sure what to expect for hp rating, it is a Z1 build with 850 inj. and 500 cams, etc.....25K worth of power train, anyways. Hope to here back from you on this.

Hey man, sounds like you have a nice build aswell.

I haven't dynoed yet either.. I'll post up the results when Greg and seb come down to tune the Louisiana Z cars, we are still waiting on a couple of guys to be done with their builds.

Yes, I sure hope so for that price...lol... it hasnt got 500 miles on it yet for break in nor has it been tuned yet but She'll break the tires loose at 40 mph (A/T) on the highway with the 3.69 diff. I bought a whole diff housing geared to 4.10's from Greg & Seb, so that should raise some sh_t with the right size tires on the back. Also got that 3800 rpm stall converter from them too. Its got the GT800R (2871) turbos but see what they make I guess, I'd like to try their EXP 90's or maybe even the 100's, if they will fit, some day in the future. I know I'm sure looking forward to meeting them in a couple of weeks, anyways.
