Wow I am in love with the wheels, they look really good. Are you going to match valve covers too?

Im sorry if you already mentioned this but what about the rest of the car, original white or a new coat?

I worked on that thing in a past life. Impressive machine, but a maintenance nightmare.

Mark, if you don't plan on driving this car in the rain, some 255 width R-1 Toyos, or R888s would stick well, or another DOT legal track tire, R-compounds would do well on those wheels.

I don't plan on driving in the rain.

Actually T I just went and looked at the tires that came with the 18" g wheels

They are:
235/40/R18 (front)
275/35Z/R18 (rear)

That should be good right? They look like they will be sticky. I am not real wild about the 40 series up front with a 35 series in the rear but hell i'll get 255/35 up front when I wear them out.

:) No the valve covers are a neutral color.

The rest of the car's paint is in great shape although I think its the pearl white from a 370z which doesn't bother me I like it!

I will get my car repainted though because there is a tiny bit of orange peel on the sides of the hatch.. The reason why I want to get the entire car repainted and not just fix the orange peel is because I don't know what color it is for sure.

My car was parked next to a Pearl White 370z and they looked like the same base coat but the 370z looked like it had a little less pearl.
But still both cars looked beautiful next to each other. So basically when I am ready to get my lady repainted i'll more than likely go with 370z pearl white.

I got 255/35's on the front of the NA and they fit great, and the extra meat looks and works nice...and I REALLY like the Hankook Ventus V12's, sticky but ride nice too, and they claim up to 24K miles outta 'em...

I have had such good luck with Nitto brand tires its going to be highly unlikely that I quit using them... LOL

When I buy my pernament set of wheels I am going to run Nitto 555r 255/35Z/18 up front with proabably 305/35Z/18 out back.

But IDK i'll make a thread once I am ready because nothing is set in stone.

All I know is that I need/want a good amount of meat touching the ground up front and in the rear.

I've heard great thing about the 555R.

Those sizes you have now, are both on 8.5" wide wheels? The 275 is way too fat for that width, it would balloon.

Yea 8.5 inch wheels. But I think thats why the front is a taller series that way it makes the tires look a little bit more even as far as side wall is concerned. :gotme

Alright the guy that has the local paint and body shop came to the store and did his thing on the Z it looks perfect now! We still have to apply 2 more coats of clear coat. Tonight we cleaned a bunch of hardlines up and are getting them ready to be reinstalled. I'll post pics Monday. I need some sleep.

I accidently had the flash on the following pics which put to much sudden light on the paint. :squint:

I unwrapped the booster to find the nice surprise that there was still white on my firewall haha (howards fault tall black guy). So I just touched it up and didn't give a crap about the booster because it has to be resanded then repainted anyway since the damn wrinkle paint didn't wrinkle correctly.

I do like, however, I would've shaved the engine bay a tad, like smoothed out the firewall, and relocating stuff.. Would look more clean/smooth, (Not that it isnt kick a** right now, I just have a thing for 'shaved' bays.)

Good work nonetheless, you still get mad props, yo.

Btw Tony, the Osprey is a beastly thing. You were in the Navy too once?

Nope, I worked for a company that designed a replacement for their prop power/signal unit. The thing that slides down the axis of the rotor.
