Not necessarily jumping to her defense her BUT a slumber party wigi board or seanse hardly makes you a witch (yes i spelled both of those wrong, no clue how to spell them properly)

It's not the ouija board slumber parties that are the heart of her "dabbling in witchcraft" - one of her first dates was at a Satanic altar, with some kind of animal (probably) blood, though she maintained that she didn't know what was going on at the time.

And, hey, if she's a witch, it doesn't matter to me. I think she's crazy for other reasons, but the witchcraft is sort of the cherry on top.

i personally dont care if she is a witch, but i dont understand how the deeply religious, deeply conservative, Tea Party, can get behind someone who has dabbled in witchcraft?

I guess sacrificing animals isnt as bad as being a sekret muslin.

It's called the "lesser of the two evils". Obviously she's not the ideal candidate but in my opinion she is better than the alternative.

Maybe they're evolving? ;)

BTW, making the jump to sacrificing animals is the same as me searching for pix of Obama riding a zebra and chucking a spear.

Hang on, the imagery has me :rotfl ... I crack myself up.

In all seriousness, I think you might be misinformed on the Tea Party... Where you got universally "deeply religious" and "deeply Conservative" from those folks is beyond me. You must be thinking of the Religious Right.

That's an awfully simplistic viewpoint from a smart fella, tho.

The opposite of "pro-gay", "pro-immigration", "pro-Obama" isn't necessarily deeply religious and Conservative.

Wait.... Did you say Obama was a gay immigrant?

Meh...political experience in todays political climate is no selling point, in fact, no experience is probably a better indication of no corruption. Not to say that its definite proof, but if your already a politician today, theres a much better chance your a corrupt one.

What revisionism is that?

Also, her statement regarding bible and prayer in schools. I happen to agree, though its admittedly a bit more complicated then just a cause/effect correlation. But from a religious standpoint I find a bit of merit in her statement. Now some of the other stuff, i dunno, like the floggin the noggin thing, i think shes way off there, most boys experiment without ever even thinking of a girl at first, its just bodily exploration, so not with here there. Maybe her witchcraft thing was a bit deeper than a slumper party wigi board, but still "I never inhaled" comes to mind. Most folks have a shady past.

I think whats important to note here, is that people in general are just sick to death of status quo, and without really having a good clear cut alternative, they are just going with "NOT STATUS QUO" which can work in the end to be an advantage or a disadvantage. Cant be much worse than voting to pass a bill without reading a single line of text in the thing, just to "see whats in it". Sorry I harp on that but its just plain dumb.

It's all spin.

People will sieze on a "stupid statement" or a "faux pas" and exploit it (justified or not) to their ends - I'm guilty of it as well.

Here's a great example:

As Obama was pandering to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus for the Hispanic vote, he claimed that “Mexicans” were here on the American continent "...long before America was even an idea.” Problem is that Mexico declared its independence on September 16, 1810 and was recognized on September 27, 1821. America declared its independence in 1776.

Obama's a historical revisionist? Maybe. Depends on who's reading it. IBC probably won't treat it as such. Matt might. Rush would.

All depends.

Personally, I'm more disgusted by the pandering and placating tone that his statement repersents... "Y'all were here before Whitey! And Whitey's tryin' to keep y'all DOWN! Well guess what? I feel yo' pain! Vote for me!"

and i totally agree. but i honestly find it difficult to come down hard on the guy, when he is bombarded every day by questions from legitamate members of the political sphere, that border on treason.

no president in history has had to deal with the level of public indignation as this one has. bush was incompetent, but people did not treat him the way they have treated Obama. i am not forgetful for the things I said when he was in office. but based on how Obama is portrayed, he is our version of Ahmedinajad. even a broken clock is right twice a day. according to the majority of those complaining, Obama is never right.

I don't agree. People were brutal to GWB.

No one's calling BO "stupid". GWB heard it all the time. Far from stupid.
No one's hanging an "unfounded invasion" and "murders" around BO's neck. GWB is best remembered for Iraq. Arguably not his fault.
No one's blaming BO for an entire city full of deaths and misery. GWB supposedly fiddled while N'awlins drowned. Not the case.

GWB showed outstanding, resonating leadership soon after 9/11... we saw him be human. He led us through "revenge" into working together to recover. Yet no one remembers that. BO makes a pretty speech and gets a goddamn Nobel Prize and swooning crowds like a damn Beatles concert.

GWB mispronounces a word (or thirty) and it's open season. BO blathers on and on about theoreticals and idealistic yammer, and he's the Second Coming of Mohamme... Buddh...Jeebu...you know what I mean.

Granted, these are knee-jerk examples. But "treasonous" criticism? No. C'mon.

As far as I'm concerned, he's gotten a free pass on a lot of issues.

So a bunch of wingnuts demand his birth certificate. BFD.
So people say he's Muslim. There's worse things to be called.
So people associate him with unsavory characters. Lay down with dogs....
So people claim he's a socialist. Walking, talking ducks.
So people make racist comments about him. They're only half true (I kid, I kid).

I would propose that GWB never heard them. He freely admitted that he didn't read, listen to or watch the news and depended on his staff to keep him abreast of the things he really needed to know. I doubt they saw the need to tell him those things.

...Yep. Whereas BO seems to hang on every word, every tidbit of public opinion.

Which is exactly how he embarrassed himself so badly in the Gates incident (among other notable verbal flip-flops).

So, about those Messkins that were here first...*cough* apologist *cough*
