Well, Tiger is now a free man, as his wife officially divorced him today. Looks like he can resume his playing...er... career. It should be interesting to see if his game will improve as a result.

I just want to see him get back on track as a golfer. I will be really disapointed if he can't turn his game around and break some records. I don't give a crap about his personal life...I assume almost everyone with a lot of money cheats anyways. Yeah it's a feel good story if he really is that role model of a person, but in the end I like to see him play golf, not play with his kids.

I can't separate the scumbag from the golfer, so I'm kinda enjoying his slump. :) . I certainly don't wish him ill, but I won't root for him.

Ditto....

He can quit and go blow his millions at the Mustang Ranch for all I care. I'll root for Phil Mickelson and others for now on.

Meh whatever...I remember the Vikings got rid of Randy Moss because of a few stupid things...worse move ever. Then they give Peterson crap after his first interview because he doesn't speak too well. These players get paid to preform. I watch sports to see athletic excellence...not to see how good of a person or father or husband someone could be. I could care less if someone can read or not or keep their d!ck in their pants or not. If you make my team win, I want you.

I guess thats where we differ. I'd prefer if my team took a step back rather than employ a real scumbag. Golf makes it far easier as its an individual sport.

You don't have too, but I can tell you he is NOT a scumbag. Most of you will never understand what it is like to be the most recognized sports figure on the planet and have every women in the world throw themselves at you. I was only a pro athlete for 9 years and I saw it even in AA and AAA, let alone a super celebrity like Tiger.

More importantly, I know Tiger from College, we had a few classes together and we used to hang out and even party together. He is an awesome guy. He does deserve to endure the wrath on public opinion after what he did, but just remember all the BS you did and all the mistakes you made, before you go calling anyone else names....

You may have known him in college, but he is not the same man now . His bio said he dropped out after 2 yrs when he turned pro.. It seems clear that fame/fortune has changed him in an ugly way. I've hung out with celebs, and none of them have behaved as despicably as he has.

Please feel free to compare him to me. Let's see, I've never cheated on my wife (Tiger's done it many times). I've never seduced/then dumped the teen daughter of a long time next door neighbor (Tiger did, which is despicable by itself), I've never stiffed a server on a tip (It's well documented Tiger does that regularly).

I do not accept being a world wide celeb as an excuse for being morally bankrupt. If anything, being that famous should make one think twice before doing sleazy things due to the obvious increased scrutiny. You seem willing to accept his well documented scumbaggery, I will not root for such a person. Sorry.

We all know guys who "went pro"... I could list off several - some I have fond memories of, and others were toolbags in high school / college.

Interestingly, at least in my experience, the ones who were cool back then went on to have drama-free, awesome careers. The others? Lots of failures and mediocrity.

I'm not a golf fan, so I can't say I'll watch / not watch Tiger. But my issue is this: As a man with a wife and kids, nothing is more important. He did them wrong, and his freakish ability to whack a ball is irrelevant to me. He's an immature chump with money. Let him deal with the fallout - he brought it on himself.

...and this is why you and others who think like you are labeled as HATERS! :woot: You can root cheer for Phil or whoever, but they will NEVER be as great as Tiger. Phil M resembles the average cookie cutter golfer in my opinion. He's good, but nothing too fantastic. Not like Tiger Woods. Sorry Go Tiger! Hope to see you back at the top soon.

Check out Mr.Admin editing other members post in order to make himself look cool. All this coming from a guy who thinks that T.Woods is costing investors 12Mil because of his "shenanigans". I'm still laughing at that one!

FYI - my At&T stock didn’t take a hit and neither did Nike. From the time the news broke of him crashing the car and the time of your $12Million bogus investment comment the Nike stock went up approx $1.20 per share. :lolling: So, go fix that smart guy. Oh…. And try to resist editing other members post! It makes you look desperate for attention, especially if you are an “admin”

I didn't edit YOUR post, I quoted you and edited it, to point out the foolishness of your statement.

Nutswinger. :)

p.s. Argue with the writer of the article - He writes for the Wall Street Journal. I don't think anyone pays to read what you write, do they? Here it is, read it again. http://blogs.wsj.com/deals/2009/12/28/h ... ket-value/

Here ya go, Nutswinger:

Wanna know why your my At&T stock didn’t take a hit? Because on December 31, 2009, AT&T DROPPED Tiger Woods. For such a fan, you sure don't pay attention, do you?

As for NIKE, Tiger's line actually took a serious dump - the REST of Nike's line saved it for them. Read 'em and weep, doofus.

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-08-2 ... areer.html

“The Tiger effect has been negative this year,” Hanaka said. “Fortunately, other Nike products and other brands have been doing well, so we’ve been able to overcome it.”

Golf Discount Superstore said it’s seen a “definite decline” for the brand. Worldwide Golf Enterprises Inc., says almost all other apparel products are growing save for Tiger’s line.

Gatorade, Tag Heuer and Accenture all dropped him as well.

Nike would have posted BIGGER gains if they had dropped him as well, so, YES, your NIKE stock (if you really own any) LOST POTENTIAL GAINS.

Don't quit your day job - You'd make a sucky economist. :rotfl

Nope. Tiger is. I mean, how many Black women was he banging? :rotfl

Know what's even funnier than THAT? Go look at page one of this thread. Look at my first post (the one where I defended the guy). Now, look at Nutswinger's first post. He edited it FIVE MONTHS LATER. Hmmmm.... :nono:

Your credibility is shot, dude. :wavey:

I also find it interesting some many people can root for a such a morally bankrupt guy like Tiger Woods. But then again, there are many Roman Polanski fans willing to ignore his indescretions which were worse than Tiger's.

I challenge you to open up your money market account (ScottTrade, Etrade, etc..) and do the research your self instead of depending on some writer. The numbers do not lie, but writers do. :dblthumb:
