did you have to trim the p/s bracket at all??? how about the ex mani #3 that they claim you need to trim to be able to install their manifold... did you have to do that as well???
No trimming at all!

Well it has begun...

I just got a long block with a slight rod knock from a buddy. I decided to go this route so the coupe wont be sitting on stands for 10 months like last time, ha ha. Anyways, plans are a full build (well mostly full). This includes: Aftermarket rods, aftermarket pistons, new oil squirters, new oil pump, new water pump, new timing set, new crank pulley, race bearings, ARP main studs, new seals, boring .020 over, hone, line hone, decking, hot tanking, metal head gasket, greddy head bolts, tomei 260 in/ex (12mm of lift) cams, tomei solid lifters, tomei valve springs, JWT valve guides, possibly a port and polish job on the head, and anything else I can fit in the budget.

So here are a couple of pics of the beginning!

I have, but from what I understand, they are primarily a DSM shop. I'm still open to suggestions still, but want a shop that knows SR's!

I forgot what they charged, lol. I'll let you know when I find out again, ha ha.

If you have a greddy manifold be aware that the TB wont fit and you will have to cut out the old flange buy a q45 tb flange, weld it to the manifold plus you will have to port it out to match the new flange.

look in build thread...zer...ld-up

Ha ha, tell me about it! Don't worry, I'll be inspecting everything very closely before i use it!!! I heard the motor run before, but it had a slight rod knock. Turns out to be cylinder #1, and it has some scoring ect on the #1 sleeve.

Well, the block is all apart except the crank! Bringing the block down to Cali tomorrow (good ol' 5 hour drive, ha ha) and handing it off to a race shop down there for the machining and assembly of the rotating assembly. After that, it's time to start the reassembly process!!! I'll post up pics most likely next week when I get back!

The ITB's are still going to happen, but just a little longer, lol. I have a lot of things going on, and can only get to a few things at a time, ha ha. That, and I would like to get a dyno of a good known setup vs my ITB setup to see the difference, lol.

Little Update: Sorry no pics yet, but the builder block was dropped off almost 2 weeks ago for machine work and bottem end balancing and assembly. Parts are taking awhile to come in, so a few more weeks until that is done, lol.
