22 inches here, but the storm stalled. You guys are in the thick of it, and we are sort of on the inner edge...

I'll kill you with a snow shovel.

This town really doesn't have the resources to fight this kind of storm. That's why we complain, because we are not going to be able to get out for at least 3 days. There goes the weekend...

seriously. All the roads turn into 1.5 lane roads. I shoveled once every hour last night four times so that the snow wouldn't pile up. It really made no difference at all

I had to have a shovel to dig for my shovel, heh

I have three shovels now, one coal shovel style, one bent back-saver shovel and one square edge for the ice stuck to the pavement/concrete.

You can't use a snow blower in anything more than 6 inches, really.

You'd have to be out in it the whole time, every 6 inches.

We got 14" and my snowblower was a champ! It only has a 12" high auger opening, so it didn't pick up all the snow.. I had to go over most of it twice to get all the snow off.. but it was great.. took about 45 minutes for my drive and sidewalk and my neighbors sidewalk, and then to redo the end of my drive and my neighbors drive after the plow came by.

As for 22" or whatever you guys are getting... yeah.. that's a ton of snow.. even my snowblower wouldn't do a lot of good in that. But it would still be better than shoveling the whole thing. You could shovel off the top half by hand and the use the blower for the bottom half. that would make life easier for sure.

Well, if you run it for a long time in lots of snow, it will break. Had it happen a bunch.

Everything in Philly is closed except the Philly Auto Show, which is crazy because mass transit is pretty much down. The reason a lot of us are whining is because we've already had close to 50" of snow this season, which is 3x what we normally get. Top that off that the snow removal budget for most of the towns in this area was already spent so a lot of towns are going into debt cleaning this up.

Oh and large sections of southern Jersey and Sussex County DE have no power thanks to this storm. We have close to if not over 20" here in Philly and we still have another 8 hours of this to endure.

I don't know why everyone hates the snow. When I hear it's going to snow I dance in joy. But maybe thats because I snowboard or when it snows I take my 4X4 out and tear s*** up.

We got about 14" here in Bucks county (northeast of Philly). Not much drama. Very handy having a teenaged son at home . Between the two of us , plus my old snow blower, we got our house and our retired neighbor's house done in a reasonable amount time.

I was kinda enjoying global warming, with very little snow the last few years, but we're on a record pace for snow this season....
