Oh dear lord. kids trying to set themselves apart from the crowd.

I can understand trying to be different, but this....this is just flat out retarded. There isn't another word for it.

"I'm gonna be maD JdM tYT3 y0 and strip the paint off my hood and let it rust." Wow. It just looks tacky you douche nozzle.

I was always a sucker for clean parts on a rusted beater (depending on the beater), but I dunno about doin it the other way around.... I'm assuming rust = the new cf

kinda like the black hoods...

it's retards that buy new hoods in the primer and just leave them that way....

primer is not a protective coating.

I seen a rusted look with clear coat. It's hot looking.

which makes me wonder what the last car, the bmw, would look like if they had clear coated the rust.

My opinions are not really with the rust hood, BMW hood looks neat, but it just doesn't go with the car very well.

I think Im going to grab a few gallons of Miratic acid. Im going to rub it all over my car, then wash it off. The whole car will rust, then I will clear coat it.

Will that make me cool?

As far as the rusted look IMO these are the only two that pull it off ok:

Any of the other rust ones are too new looking ever where else on the car. At least these two have a theme.

All of those nicely painted civics a VW's with the rusted hoods just look f**king stupid.

This civic does look sorta sick though (due to the flat black paint):

Take it from someone who lives in the rust belt, this is stupid. Cars around here have had rusty hoods (and everything else) forever, but it's because our weather sucks. Rust is a destructive force upon a car. Usually by the time a GM is 12 years old here you can do weight reduction by kicking the bumper. Why would anyone think they're cool for letting their car deteriorate?

Most of them look horrible. These are the only ones I like.

MK1 Golf's FTW!

I think the only reason I like this one is for the audi wheels.

I actually like this... a lot.

I like it on SOME cars, like the E28.

Not on brand-new stuff like a MkV golf though.

I sort of like it in that ratrod sort of way, but I also like boro/boso cars that are all beat-up looking.

Works on some cars, not so much on others. On a Mk1 Rabbit, it looks kinda neat.

LOVE this car!:

I want a Wagovan so bad.

Such a nice EG hatch, ruined by stupidity.

This "rusted hood trend" is the dumbest f*cking thing I have seen thus far in the tuner community.

Rat Rods (and the associated black lingerie clad women ) are awesome.

I figured out how to kill this trend, someone photoshop a Prius with a rusted hood. If that doesn't work I'm going to make a killing selling "authentically rusted hoods" on ebay.
