Hey guys, I figured that going into the chat or off topic forums would just be swarmed with a mass onslaught of members here on NICO; thought we (RB engine owners, since we are a close knit group) could keep mainly to ourselves in our own little CHAT THREAD which we can pretty much keep our threads clean of clutter and back and forth talk.

Feel free to ask simple questions in here as well any that doesn't really require a new thread. Also, those who want to show off your new additions to your engine or car without looking like a fool by making a thread about your new turbo timer can do so well. Lets keep it clean and above the belt.

I went Go karting this weekend, and it was AWESOME!!!!!!!It wasn't the little go kart with the 5 HP lawnmower engine either. These things were NUTS. They go 40MPH and it wasn't even a shifter kart.

Right now my Neck, Shoulders, Back and Hands are killing me Today...I had the ill Kung-Fu Grip on the steering wheel.

hahaha sounds like FUN! I've always wanted to ride in a FAST go-kart. What kind of motor did they have in them?

On another note, do you guys think a s13 sil-front end should provide enough airflow to the radiator/engine bay + FMIC vs. a USDM front-end?

It was down at Homestead. They used to go to PBIR (moroso).

The place is called Race Sport.

Dunno exactly what kinda motor was in the one I was driving. But this guy had a 125cc Honda motor in his.

I don't really know if there would be a difference, but you wouldn't notice.Whatever front end you go with just make sure you just make some ducting. You'll be ok.

Oukaaayyy, how bout this, Ricky?

Just got this in last Friday, from Chiba-City, Chiba, Japan.

What could it be

, Tarrraaa

if you liked the last pic you'll love this one

Couldnt get it anywhere here in the states any more like you said. So had to pay little bit more and get it from across the pond where they make them, LOL (talking about the cover if some one is confused )

A little something else to change gears in this thread

Still waiting for the Rawbrokerage shipment an then it time to put it all together.

what do you guys do when you dont have the urge to work on your s*** anymore, lol? I get bored working on it by myself minus like 30min spurts with 1hr breaks, and now i'm to the point where I hate to look at it in pieces. I just need some motivation on the quick.

I get tired of working on mine too but, waiting for parts seems to fill that time. Are all the RB parts on back order from Nissan or just the ones I need?

Man, up until last weekend, I hadn't turned a wrench on my car in ... 4-5 months? House + wife + work + lifting. That's pretty much what I do now.

But on a side-note, I did get my oil cooler fitted and braided SS lines cut & crimped for my oil cooler. I just have to build a duct for it and I should be golden in that respect.

I'm the same way. I don't have any friends to help, nor a garage (apartment). So I typically plan to do more than one thing to my car on a planned/specific day.

I'm so bored, I've recently sorta made plans to put it up for sale as soon as I clean it up a bit and get a paint job. I'm thinking of moving to the impreza world.

I'm feeling the same as you guys are. Seems like im just trying to finish it to move on to something else. I love the nissans but its all I've ever known and beginning to wonder if i would be happier in something AWD or something.

At any rate, how do you guys get motivated? The whole waiting for parts is cool but then they get here and I still need more and building a car on a college budget is no fun. Usually spend more time worrying about money then worrying about the actual project.

wow seems like you guys are down in the dumps....just remember when you first got it done, and started it up and the beautiful sound it made. that just gets me ready to tear my car apart, just so i can fix it and put it back together.

That would probably be the case for me if #1: I didn't have to have the swap rushed, therefor paying a shop to do it. And #2: if I had a garage/house. It's no fun having to pack ALL your tools up when in the middle of a project due to time contraints (night time) or weather (rain/hot/cold).

i agree getting motivated is not so easy - I find myself just wanting to see visual progress instead of spending all day or weekend figuring out how something is going to work and at the end of the day/weekend my truck still looks like it did firday night - all cut apart lol

anyway idk how many of you work on cars for a job - like dealership or private shop - but sometimes after working on them all day you get home and just are out of ambition to work on your own. Lucky for me I work in a bodyshop and my manager just got fired so im working in the office more writing estimates and dealing with customers which is a nice change of pace and a great experience considering i just finished college

I have been slacking off on the build due to other stuff. I'm getting back on track this weekend! I can't wait.

I have been saying this for about a year... but the RB project is finally coming to a close. I look forward to working on it when I want to, not because something is facked up.

Just in case, I am sure many of you haven't ever seen my car.

Since nobody has ever seen my build I'll post up some random pics. Maybe one day I'll make a thread will all of my RB build goodness.

R33 clip

Engine build start

New turbo, old one was leaking oil.

Rip-off greddy replica lamination with blue/black carbon/kevlar.

RB finished, Old turbo setup-failed (now I have a top mount), carbon manifold before clear coat. Also, I've done a wire tuck since then.

if it makes anyone feel any better my s14 is down due to a mysterious fuel issue...i think my number one injector is starting to fail.doesnt sound anything like the rest of them, resulting in a somewhat crappy idle and slightly reduced drivability.

oh well, name of the game i suppose but she's done for all intents and purposes.

So a few pics of my new project car, sold my vh45de s13 that i built last summer for profit and grabbed this:

power plant is a 4l inline 6 with an eaton m90 blower on it, revs to a whopping 5.5krpm thanks to its 101 mm stroke and 91mm bore...undersquare much?

I had the oppertunity to buy a pristine black one from the original owner, but at the time just couldn't justify it. Still can't I suppose. If the S14 takes a major dive I am moving to the german side I think.

Cool ride Carl, I always thought they were just a bit on the ugly side. Just ugly enough to be cool... Nice choice.

hey quick question...is there a big difference, or fitment issues with the rip-off greddy style intake between the real greddy intake??

Damn, I didn't know you sold that car. Plans for this one? Or is it just going to be a nice, stock DD? That definitely looks like a nice car. I don't know anything about Jaguar cars.
