Funny guy. I'm not throwing together some janky kit so it takes time to get it right the first time. I had to return all of the fittings because they missed a gat-damn relief cut for the o-rings. I will have them back by the end of this week or I'll be going over there to b**** someone out.

For a serious update, I have the new lines installed on my car and will have it vacuum tested and charged this coming week. Hopefully, everthing will seal as expected. After that, it is only a matter of shipping.

Good to hear Darius.

I must say, I do miss the nice Iowa breeze this summer. After living away for 5 years, I forgot how humid Pittsburgh is.

Vacuum testing on my car is hopefully tomorrow. Depends on how soon my buddy's boss can get ahold of a vacuum pump. By the end of this week for sure.

If vacuum testing goes well, I'll start cutting hose and crimping hose ends on. The returned fittings are supposed to be done by the end of this week as well, so if everything goes as planned, I could be shipping kits out on Monday morning of next week. Just in time to keep silviasgp06 from sweating his butt completely off

Yep, sort of. I received the adapter fittings but the damn machine shop forgot to machine an inside diamter to receive the o-rings, so I had to send them back. I'm going to make sure they're done today or Monday. I have one set currently installed on my car and I'm waiting to get it vacuum tested to make sure it doesn't leak. If I'm confident none of the fittings leak, I'll start sending sets out.

It looks like the two compressor lines with custom hose ends, custom adapter fittings, and charge ports on the high and low pressure sides along with installation hardware will run $175+SH. I just bought a drier from O'Reilly's to replace my old one and it was only $25. And I'm just reusing my passenger side lines with a little bending here and there to get them to fit. So if you have a working compressor, condenser, triple pressure switch, evaporator, and interior fan, you can get your AC working for about $215 total.

I realize a couple of you are looking for the passenger side lines too. I have a custom drier on backorder which will eliminate the need for two more billet fittings, so that additional billet fitting, lines, hose ends, and drier will run $275+SH. I have the fittings already made, so it is only a matter of fitting the drier in the same location as the stock unit and making hoses for it. I don't know what NISSAN charges for new passenger side lines, but it might be cheaper to just bite the bullet and get them. I'll look into that this afternoon.

-Getting my system vacuum tested tonight. -Adapter fittings should be going on the lathe today to be completed.-Low-pressure hoses should be complete tonight. -High-pressure hoses have one fitting crimped on, but I need to custom cut each according to each person's individual measurement between the timing cover and radiator core support. I also need everyone to verify that they have a 13mm high-side port and a 19mm low-side port on their compressor to make sure these adapter fittings will work.

$hit man, I hope you're alright! Did you get into an accident or something? I remember my dad having to get a cortizone shot in his neck vertabrae, but they went in through the front of his neck with an 8-inch needle. SCREW THAT! LOL

Don't fight the meds so hard, enjoy what little time you get to spend with them :D

Seriously, hope you heal up soon.

not to sound stupid, but how do I verify this? is this the nut size or the inner diameter of the port on the a/c compressor?

thanks!

Not a stupid question at all! If you look down at the compressor from the driver's side fender. The high-pressure port is on the left and the low-pressure port is on the right. Both ports have a 1/4" stud sticking out above them.

I just need you to measure the inside diameter of both ports. The left one should be about 13 mm and the right one should be about 19mm. If this is what you find, perfect! If not, we'll have to figure something else out.

Just verify that the ports are the correct diameters and give me the distance from your timing belt cover to the radiator support and mount system that you have installed.

Now, the moment many of you have been waiting for...I HAVE A CHARGED AC SYSTEM!!!!

Now I haven't confirmed that it works because my dumb self forgot to install my AC belt before heading over to the shop. So we did everything we could without being able to use the compressor to suck down the last of the second can. But once we got it to seal, it was smooth sailing. I will provide details later, but none of the sealing issues were with the new fittings so I'm STOKED!!

Installed the belt last night and fired up the AC. It blows cold, but the compressor is making a whining sound like a bearing is on its last leg. I'm going to see if I can get the last half of a can of refrigerant added along with some more PAG oil tonight. Hopefully it will straighten itself out or I'll be in the market for either a compressor rebuild or a different compressor.

Either way it goes, I'm running this compressor until it dies

F'n Awesome!

btw I have confirmed that I have 13mm and 19mm ports

what part number did you have for the AC belt, think Ive looked in the stickies but havnt seen it. >checking again...

awesome, so hopefully this weekend ill be prepping the car to receive AC. Gotta remove the comp and clean off dirt on port(pray that there is none inside), and I have to mess with the hose bracket near the compressor cause its making contact with the compressor pulley.

pay pal ready

did you put the oil in the condenser and evap? I know it wouldn't fix the problem with the compressor bearing but a lot of people forget to do that. It helps with a lot with heat exchange. glad you got yours working man, mine still blows so cold I can't stand it and cycles as it should.

Yep we added oil to both. The weird thing is that it makes noise even when the compressor clutch is not engaged. So I don't know how this is going to turn out in the long run.

I'm just excited that the adapter fittings work, the hose ends work and the drier that I had to modify works. I bought a drier for a 97 240SX (PN 33597 everywhere) and the ports were too small. I had to drill them out while blowing compressed air in the opposite port to keep the aluminum shavings from dropping into the drier. That was another BS situation that pissed me off about the whole charging process...Not even the USDM parts fit for me!

Had a fitting leak because a nut backed off. Stuck a lock washer on both, recharged the system, and fired it back up. As the compressor was used more, the squeaking went away and it blows icy cold. Almost too cold haha!

I will e-mail my AC contact list on Monday or Tuesday to update everyone. Anybody else that is interested must e-mail me at [email protected] for info.

The KA compressor blocks are different than the RB compressor blocks. At least they were on my S14 compressor. Since I have the finished fittings, I can easily compare them to the S14 blocks. I just can't remember off the top of my head what the differences were. Give me a few days to get back to you on that one.

Thanks

cuss Rb20det doesn't even have a ac bracket

and from what I read everyone here is talking about KA as Dohc model KA24DE

my compressor from Ka24e SOHC

Daryl, your kit is ready to ship out tomorrow.

After finally sitting down and trying to remember how my car is wired and after reviewing 300Plus' thread, I created a wiring diagram of the S14 & RB25 systems. Note that the Y/B, B/P, and P wiring connection is made under the passenger side footwell by the ECU.

Enjoy!

At the end of 300Plus' thread, someone else asked that and I looked up the AC pin on the ECU and it is the same #46 pink wire. So the answer is yes

Blue wire/Red stripe

The RB compressor has a different plug than the S14 harness, so you have to replace both. I just used a weathertight connector from a headlight ballast that crapped out on my gf's car. Soldered it and shrink wrapped it on both ends.
