The problem with that is the AC compressor sits farther forward in an RB than in an SR or KA. So even if you did make a bracket to bolt on the KA AC Compressor onto an RB, you will still have to make new lines. This would clearly be more expensive than just having new lines...

Darius,

here are measurements that may help, wasn't exactly sure where you wanted to measure to and from so i picked exact point that everyone will be able to use if the choose to provide their measurements.

in the below picture i measured from the passenger side top radiator mount to the left edge(passenger side) of the CAS. ( 15")

then measured from the left edge of the CAS to the driver side top radiator mount. (9 1/2") for reference totaling 24.5" between the rad mount bolts

Rear edge of the rad support to the timing cover is 6 3/8" I have McKinney Mount motor and transmission mounts (maybe copies) with hockey pucks for rubber isolators on the motor mounts and genuine McKinney transmission poly rubber isolators. (all on the 95 S14 cross member)

Nice work! I'll check it against mine to compare.

And about making lines for the KA compressor, I can do it, but I would have to get ahold of a compressor to be able to make up a adapter blocks. Then, I'd need some help from someone who has the compressor installed on a custom bracket already.

If this KA bracket does happen, I would be willing to use my car as a source of fitment information for Darius since we are within reasonable proximity.

Hey everyone:

I currently make brackets that allow any KA compressor on any SR20, but was contacted by USMCGetSome to look into this situation

Does anyone have pictures of the actual RB bracket by chance? I'd love to compare bolt patterns versus SR brackets to see how close/far we are away.

I know the engine sits further up front, which presents an issue with lines etc etc...but I'm debating on making something happen regardless.

The hose ends finally arrived today so now I am just waiting on the adapter blocks from the CNC mill. Gotta bug them to keep my order in line.

I measured the distance from the timing cover to the radiator core support and it was 6 inches. I have TopHat mounts.

I will probably have to make the hoses slightly longer to compensate since it seems that others are 3/8" to 3/4" closer to the firewall.

Also, I want to get this system installed to test it out first. I wouldn't feel comfortable without giving it a trial run before shipping out kits.

Send me the ends of your hoses for the compressor and I'll have some adapter blocks designed. Then, I can ship them back to you. E-mail me for details.

Progress! thats awesome.

We have had like 3 or 4 official 100* days here in Texas so far, but the heat index has been over 100 for a while now

I have AC in my RB, but ran into some cooling problems, probably lack of airflow, have 2 12" pullers, 2.5 in rad, and an external oil cooler, but she still gets warm when it hits 95ish. i just cycle the a/c on and off and i seems to help. texas heat sucks. if theres anything i can help with, let me know

this is an awesome thread, and I just went through and read the whole thing.

I have a question about mounting the actual condensor itself. I have a mishimoto aluminum radiator, but removed all the a/c stuff for the sake of mounting fans. They're FAL pusher fans, so instead of being right infront of the engine, they're on the opposite side of the radiator. The question is, if I reinstall the a/c condensor, can I mount the pusher fans on THAT, and keep them as pushers? There is VERY minimal room for anything between the pulleys and having fans in between them.

Does anyone have pics that they can post of their set-up, so I can get an idea of how the install should look afterwards?

No. The only pusher fans that I have found that fit in front of the condenser and are worth a $hit are 12" SPAL pusher fans.

I tried the FAL dual pusher setup too, but it didn't even come close to fitting. Pricey, but two of them blow like a hair dryer.

Make a cardboard cutoutFinal product (you can faintly see the black outline that I traced around the frame in front of the condenser to make sure the fans clear)Notice the weather stripping to get a good seal against the frame.

Okay, seeing that set-up helps immensely! Thanks for the pics, too. I should be on my way to a/c once I get a day off to pull off everything and reinstall the bits and pieces!

ok guys, just pulled the rb26 out of the track car(scrapping the project) and im putting it into the daily driver. wanted to know what would be the easiest route

use the rb26dett compressoror make a bracket to run the ka compressor

both setups will need new lines but im well capable of makeing a bracket for it

darius, i am running the flexalite 220 pushers with the condenser sandwiched between a koyo rad and the fans. fits perfect and i never have temp issues.

How did you fit the pushers in front of the condenser? The condenser butts up against that lower cross brace? Do you have pics of it?

i'll get you pics some pics tomorrow. the condenser doesn't sit in the stock location, but using the flaxalites witht he condenser sandwiched the fans but up against the inside of the cross member and everything is held solid. i DO have custom radiator brackets on top, but they were fitted before i ever put the condenser back in.

Ok THAT makes sense now. You have custom radiator and condenser mounts.

I run a 3-inch thick Griffin radiator, so mounting it any closer to the engine is impossible. I'd have to make the radiator support removable and that would be a lot more work than simply fitting SPAL pushers on the condenser.

Fittings were in the mill last week and should be done by now. The shop never calls me when my stuff is done, so that's annoying. Shouldn't be too much longer until these are ready. Gotta test mine out first and I'll let you know how that goes.

GI Joe: sorry meant to say that I have pushers in front of my ac condenser, not in front of my radiator.

After ducting and panneling for better cooling and to keep the temps down when the ac is on, I plan on placing another Puller fan on the back right side of the rad that will only be turned out when the ac is on. Or something like that anyway. There are a few ideas floating around in my head right now.

nah, i didn't make custom mounts for everything. the condenser is literally held in place by the pressure of the fans and radiator squeezing them together. the fans on with the ac should counter any ill heat effects. only the top mounts that hold the radiator to the crossmember were custom made and that was before the condesor was ever put in. still uses the oem bottom mounts. technically the rad and the condenser only touch on the end tanks so they are flush against each other all the way accross.

I am installing the lines on my car tonight to check for clearances. If I can clear the 6boost front positioned manifold, it should be able to get along with most other manifolds.

The adapter blocks are in the last phase of machining. I got pushed back because of some big harley bike they're building. Plus they had a batch of vibrators to make .
