awesome paint skillz... but yeah I have recently bought a new ac drier (a s14 replacement) still brand new and in box and still capped. Will this be compatible with your non drier kit?

any updates on the sale/ship date? or any new picture of the charge fittings?

Yes, the basic kit (red+blue) assumes that you will use the stock lines from the condenser to the drier and from the drier to the firewall/evaporator (and the stock drier).

The extra line (green) and new and custom drier are for those people who did not have the lines with the car as they purchased it or would like to relocate the drier lower on the frame rail.

I called the AC shops that I'm getting these custom fittings from and they said I should have them next week. Then I can start putting stuff together and hopefully it fits as I envisioned it.

17 day update bump. Hows it all going?

Luckily the Texas heat is throttling up slowly this year, but I don't think it will hold off for long.

ready to paypal

Fittings should gocome out of the mill next week!!

Had to make some modifications to the first set of blocks because the hose ends were interfering with the fastening nuts. No biggy, but it took some extra time to figure it all out. I'm going to try to salvage the fittings I have right now in order to put something together this weekend. I'm curious to see how it will all fit together

Here's the first line from the compressor to the condenser. It is a tight squeeze with the fittings and everything else, but it looks like it should fit fine. If it can weave thru all the BS lines on my setup, it should work for everyone.

I had to get new custom metric hose ends made up for the large evap-to-compressor line (I pissed that other set down my leg ). I can put one end on it and route it to the firewall. The new hose ends should be here some time this week, so I'm getting pumped!!

what mounts are you using? I cant really tell you motor looks as far from the radiator as mine but it doesnt look like you have a koyo rad. looks like there might be tension on that line. looks like that might be a stretch for some other mounts that sit farther back.

I'm using TopHat mounts. I know, FTL. And I have a 3-inch thick radiator core so the pics are slightly decieving.

There isn't tension in the line. It is actually slightly compressed to get it to curve.

If the hose ends don't reach with your setup, just send the line back and I can give you a longer one. Not a big deal. Another option is to send one fitting uncrimped and you can cut the hose to the exact length you need with a razor knife. Then, have a local AC shop crimp the hose end on. You just have to make sure to mark the alignment of the hose end on the hose and line up the marks because it will not twist once it is crimped.

Just to make sure we're on the same page...

The complete kit you're offering works with RB5 compressor and s14 condenser.I have NO a/c stuff in my car, save the connections on the firewall. The kit will give me everything I need to get the A/C up and running?

These are just the lines, you have to supply everything else.

Yes, at this point it is only for the RB25 in an S14. The S13 will have to come later.

No, the basic kit I'm providing only includes the billet fittings, hose ends, and hoses between the S14 firewall/RB25 compressor and the RB25 compressor/S14condenser.

If you don't have an S14 condenser, grab one from O'Reilly's. It would be fastest if you also picked up the drier and associated passenger side lines and the triple pressure switch that mounts on top of the drier.

If you want all of the lines, drier, and pressure switch from me, it is going to take me a couple more weeks to get parts and figure out the routing for those.

mmm I'm not sure. I know the RB20 compressor has some goofy compressor blocks on it so it definitely won't work with what I currently have made up.

Do you have a picture of it?

Nope that looks totally different. However, I am curious to see what the ports look like when the hose end blocks are removed because they might be the same as the RB25 ports. If that is the case, the billet adapter blocks might work out.

Do you have access to the ports or the compressor blocks so you could send me the dimensions of the part that extends into the compressor where the o-ring is? I could at least compare the dimensions to the RB25 fittings.

I got the other line started tonight. Now I'm just waiting on the firewall hose end. The hose comes close to the 6boost manifold so I'll have to put heat protection on it. I wish the fitting was a bit more compact, but it will suffice.

I can make it a few more weeks!

How much would you be asking for the complete deal (all the lines, drier, and pressure switch)?

I did the calc a while back, but I think it was around $250-300 for all fittings, hose ends, lines, drier and TPS. I'll have to do a more accurate take-off once I know exactly how much hose I need for each line. E-mail me and I will get you on my mailing list for AC. [email protected]

would an early transfer of funds for the kit I want to purchase from you help with the the development?

Daryl I'm sorry about this taking so long. I was expecting to have these things cookin a couple of weeks ago, but I had to go back and reorder some custom hose ends because they were the wrong diameter. I'm hoping to get the new ones in about two weeks.

I know I keep saying a couple more weeks, but things keep getting delayed. I can work on assembling the high pressure lines because those are ready to go.

Ok, I need a little help from anyone who is interested in taking a few seconds to measure something on their swap.

Since I figure the condenser will be in the same location relative to the radiator core support, could those who wish to participate please measure the distance from the inside edge of the radiator support to the center of the front timing cover? On the flat portion of it.

Also, please post this measurement with the type of mounts you have. Hopefully this will give me an idea of the differences and who might need slightly longer or shorter lines.

Thanks

darius i got a hold of a guy that was making KA/SR AC brackets and is interested in helping those of us with RB S13'S. Can we squeeze him in here so we can get something started for people who want to use their KA AC STOCK system with the RB setup.

Cody Ace is his SN and he used to post on nicoclub awhile back.

here is the email:Hey!

So an RB setup you say? Well here are some things I would need to getstarted with this (if possible)

- I'd love to see a picture of an RB bracket (the OE a/c bracket thatis). This will help me determine if it's possible from the get go.

-Also, if you could find a picture of it mounted in OE form fromJapan, that would help too, as then i cuold try and see how it allfits.

Lastly, I do not haev an RB car to test on This problem isn't ahuge one, as the main thing is seeing how the adjuster/idler pulley ison the car. I would just need to see how it all works. I may even needto use you as a tester to see if it all fits.

So let me know. I've always been apprehensive as I've not had an RB,but if oyu're willing to help me out, we could make it happen. I havesome guys in the Philly area that may be able to help me, but i'd needto find them first.

THanks again!

-Cody Ace

now since this is the rb/ac thread can we continue in here or would you like me to start a new thread?
