Hey gang,

We know that the EPA does gas milage testing and releases findings to help consumers determine what gas milage their vehicle should get. We also know that the new Rogue falls under the newest EPA testing guidelines that are supposed to be more accurate than previous years results. However, we also know that the real world is often different than what the EPA tests for, and other owner's results are very helpful.

Here are the EPA expectations for the 2008 Rogue:AWD - 21/262WD - 22/27

What have you gotten in your Rogue? Please update this thread when you have pertinent information to share about your Rogue's gas milage.

Rules:1.) A consistent method of reporting will help everyone agree on accuracy. Please use the following method to determine that gas milage: Fill gas tank until pump automatically stops. (don't try to squeeze every last drop into the tank until it spills onto your shoes). Reset your tripodometer to 0 and drive your Rogue until you need to refuel. Fill until pump automatically stops. Then divide number of miles/kilometers by the number gallons/liters to calculate miles per gallon. Then reset tripodometer and repeat. 2.) Please list your model S/SL and your drivetrain 2WD/AWD. 3.) Please list your predominant source of miles (City, Highway, approximate mix). 4.) Please list any interesting factors (extreme heat, extreme cold, mountain terrain, towing, etc...)

*Update 11/12/07*We have become aware that the on-board computer calculations of gas milage are not so accurate. Please don't report your in car display results in this thread as they cannot be counted on as accurate info. Thanks!

I have the awd sl. Had a full tank yesterday and hit the highway. I'm thinking my # wont be too accurate with the speed, but at 80mph I was getting 20.2mpg. I promise to make a conscience effort to go the speed limit one day during the week and see how it is then. Highest I've seen anywhere I've been the last 2 days is 21.

I havent calculated it myself, but after going through 2 tanks of gas and putting 700+ miles on the car, the car is indicating 25.6 mpg. I have the sl awd and do a lot of city driving in traffic, with the a/c on low most of the time. I think this is pretty damn good and probably better than the epa estimates.

SL AWD. Some mountain driving. mostly all highway/boulevard. meter showed 24.6 but on fillup I have 283mi/10gal = 28.3 - so maybe true is between.

SL 2WD - air conditioning on the entire time - all city driving

Calculated mileage to be 25.3mpg. I'll be curious to see how it does on the highway. On a side note, the onboard computer said it was 26.7.

The one at the dealer I drove yesterday, which they have been using for demos was getting 21.9 around town. Plus I am sure others rompped on the engine just like I did to see how the power was.

TrueDelta has a real-world fuel economy survey that also includes questions on driving style and driving conditions. No responses for the Rogue yet, but they should be coming.

After my first fill up I calculated 24.5MPG. I have the SL AWD. It was about 75% highway 25% city. I'm hoping it improves after the break in period.

Gave it it's first fillerup today. (I got to drive it because...well.............it needed gas.

My wife works 3 1/2miles from home & is almost never on a highway so..........

Only a half tank of gas but it calculated out to 21.5mpg. SL AWD

The Rogue's only got it's first 160 miles on it so I'm thinking this numbermay improve some.

I have an AWD SL started on a tip with 300 miles on the odometer. Drove from Illinois to Oklahoma against a strong headwin at 75mph, got 21.7 mpg. One the return trip the mileage jumped to 27. 5 mpg. Can't wait to see what she'll do after she's broken in and after my 1'st oil change with Mobil 1.

I just had a similar experience in my wife's car on a trip. Got six MPG better with the wind compared to against it.

25.5 MPG mixed city-50%/highway-50%+- 3rd tank, odo 1050 miles total

3 tanks at the same basic MPG . Ready for a 300 mile interstate run in one week to Boone NC that will be a good max mileage test if I can keep it below 80 mph.

Enjoy your drive to Boone. I live just an hour South of there.

I have really found the gas milage information from all of you guys very helpful. I am seriously considering purchasing a Rogue before the end of the year. Gas consumption is one of my main reasons for looking into getting another car. Please keep posting your #s, my mind is almost made up!

Just purchased a Gotham Gray SL AWD Rogue. Have put 500 miles on it and am averaging 27 mpg.

Still getting used to the CVT transmission. Cruise control on the highway really seems to help.

On one trip to work (25 miles, mostly highway with no traffic), I averaged 31 mpg. That's with cruise control set to 65 mph for the highway portion of the commute.

22.3 mpg after 318 mi. mostly in town driving. I did get in some highway driving. Getting up to 100 mph and averaging 75 may have killed the highway advantage...

I have an AWD and for my first tank of gas I got right at 24-25. I drive a mix of highway and city. That's fair. Alot better than my 4runner used to get!! I think it will get better as I break the car in and get a better feel for it. My goal is to temper my driving to get 400 miles out of a tank of gas on a regular basis. My salesman told me by setting my cruise between 55 and 65 I can get right at 30 miles to the gallon. But who wants to drive that slow is the only problem!!
