+1 to that, the exhaust on a Z32 is a real problem as I got to watch the guys fab mine in my NA years ago, and it took them 4 tries to get it right for sound, power, and most importantly no scrape-ee. LOTS of tough bends especially at the tailpipes, and getting hi flow cats to fit isn't fun either. I'd made them agree to meet those three standards before I'd pay, and they did manage to hit them all finally...and that was with 2 1/2"exhaust.

I test fit my 3.5" that I picked up, I was told it fits the r33 skyline. I have pics of it hanging on my second post. Doesn't seem that bad actually, but then again I'm going dual to single. When I get the car up on a lift I'll take some pictures.

Who's Freddy?. . . . I kid I kid. Where most run into problems with the exhaust is right near the back end of the transmission, not much space to lift it into the confines of the body dimensions so it ends up scraping over speed bumps and driveways.

I'll see how it fits once the trans is done and do a write up on the cat back conversion for dual to single conversions if it's pretty easy

I use those fittings at work on pneumatic equipment which run on 100psi of air. Very easy to work with and disassemble. They are called push to connect pneumatic fittings.

Keep up the great work.

Thanks  so much more to do, been looking up info on cams (tomei poncams) and taking to Auto Vaughn performance in TN about the nistune type 2 board for my z32 ecu to control my rb25. Lots of work ahead haha

What wideband set ups are people running I gotta figure that out too yet lol

Looks like a great project. We just launched an plug and play wiring harness for this swap if you are interested in replacing the original wiring harness.

Check it out: http://www.wiringspecialties.com/rbwihafor30p.html

Thanks for the offer but with a early 90s nistune modded ecu (type 2 board) from a 300zx (8 bit 90-93), the stock rb25 harness and the alt/trans harness from the 300zx manual it's already plug and play. Just gotta hook up grounds and power and splice in the z32 MAF

Thanks! I got the shell last winter and I'm working hard to get this thing running by late spring. I gotta give alot of credit to getting really good deals on everything so far. I think the only thing I really spent the "going rate" on was the freddy intake. Everything else was really me doing my homework and constantly searching for deals on forums, Facebook groups, ebay (just gotta know what your getting/looking for) and good old Craigslist. Plus all the overtime at my work helps a little too :bigthumb:

and it all started with the manual swap I got with the car and a $40 Rb25 bell housing lol

NLmotoring.com is a good place for wheels too. I got mine for 140 a piece and they sent me an extra 18x9.5 front by mistake

I've heard mixed reviews about next level, but mostly good. I've never used them personally though.

Yeah, not so sure those wheel sizes they have will fit a Z32 so well, very limited sizing more like a clearing house.
If I buy inexpensively I like to see the same sizing options as any other time or my Red Flag goes up...

Yeah I got flat black av-09 avids. I sold my only set of wheels and needed something for now. fronts are 18x9.5 +38 and rears are 18x10.5 +22. still gotta see how they line up but its been too cold :ohno: haha worse case I might need spacers for the front. I picked up hubcentric rings too and new lugs too. I just want it to get warm out so i can start putting stuff together

Nice!
However, due to our VERY short under hood clearances, will it clear your hood? That may be an issue as the RB sits pretty high in a Z32 bay (valve cover nearly flush in height/tight to rear firewall) so you may have some challenges there...hope not!

Oh wow, yeah that thing is tall. Hopefully you won't need a shaker hood or anything.

I'm hoping with the way the RBs "lean" it'll clear but worse case I can put a mini scoop or just cut a hole and let the turbo get air haha

Snow is melting a bit and I test fitted my wheels, I think once I'm on Coils they'll fit nicely :dblthumb:

I also did some measurements in my engine bay off the cross member, Sometime this weekend Ill post up Hood clearance with the turbo and how close my wastegate/downpipe will be to the steering shaft when I bolt the cross member to the motor + steering rack

Measure twice, cut and re-weld 20 times haha

Haven't posted in a bit, some stuff is getting powdercoated and I'm doing some body work to the engine bay so I can start airbrushing. Hopefully motor will be in the Car in a couple weeks!!!

Give Charles a call anyway, they often have a set or two left over and may still work you a deal especially if you get the adjustable bits as well, which is beyond recommended... :yesnod
