Personally I think 240 pll, make fun of Honda because Honda aren’t as popular as Nissan in Japan, and also because the majority of ricers out there drive Hondas

I don't think he was aware he chose the SOHC D16A6 as his example that put out 108HP.

The SiR was the VTEC version - and much faster.

Brilliant.

Actually, I think the the Honda trashing that goes on in here is an attempt to bolster your own egos.

You can rag on Civic's & Integra's all you want, but at least Hondas/Acuras have a racing heritage to be proud of. Where are the 240's in the SCCA, or the Touring Car championships? If it's such a sweet car, why is no one winning with it?

Dirfting!! That's it. There's your claim. Be proud.

Um, actually they do. Roger Foo won a race last year in his privateer Civic hatchback in the Speed World Championship (then the Speedvision Championship).

The only 240 I've seen in that series was in it for one race, and crashed out.

A Civic isn't the only Honda, Integra Rs run in many touring car competitions, and do very well. In Europe you don't see 200sx's running but you DO see Accord Type Rs, Civic Si's and RSX Type Rs.

muhahaha, this will defiently piss off you civic racer.

The only reason you guys race civics is to try and show the world where you lack in balls you make up for ignorance, you spend alot of $$$ or a wrong wheel drive car to run ****ty times, and for a car that can't handle, etc. etc. etc. Hmm and u cant diss on the silvias for their "Lack of handeling" stock to stock we would whip a hondas *** repeatly(we shall not speak modified, that would be no comparision), and didn't recentley the daishen silvia in japan set a record, holy ****, I thought the silvia was only worth a drift. The reason ballless ppl here race hondas is because they have to much $$ and companies sponser them due to the overextensive sells in hondas the US makes, they have to make money somehow, why not take the most selling eco car that kids drive and show "how well the perform"(used loosly).

Is that seriously what you guys hold up to make yourselves feel better. I'm not bashing Hondas at all, but that's just lame. Marlboro has a long heritage of winning races too, does that make their cigarettes better? The cars that win those races share one thing in common with the one you buy from the dealer....it's got an H on the hood.

You should also be proud of your lawn mowing heritage and fine power generators!:D

Well majority of it is true, lets look at the details.

1. Honda owners spend way to much $$$ on a lawn mower engine.

2. They can't handle for **** stock.

3. ****loads of companies use the civic due to the crazy amount of civics sold each year in the US.

4. It's not a sports car and never will be.

5. A modified honda still runs ****ty times.

6. The majority of honda owners never obtain a "fast" car, too much money is required in a honda to achieve desireable results.

Sure Ill give hondas props on their outstanding back and forth to work performance on little amounts of gas. Until then, the only hondas I like are the beefed up miata and the NSX(thanks to stockholm)

1, lawn mower engines?? lol ur cars displacment is not much more remember that.

2, they handle for **** stock true, but most cars arent exactly track cars stock are they.

3, I agree with you there

4, nope it isnt a sports car, but i love em just like u like ur silvia and i have lots of fun driving it.

5-6, the majority of honda drivers who never obtain a fast car werent goin for building one obviously. If they wanted it they would make it happen. Its not exactly cheap to build a Us spec Silvia to Look good and be fast either. Motor swap, body conversions to make it look good, wheels tires etc... not cheap.

I never heard someone mention a honda owner thinking adding stickers to their car added horsepower. However funny the first time I heard it, it's not anymore. Who heard a Honda owner ever say they are adding stickers b/c they need more horsepower? :\ :/ :| :\ :/ I do agree it's stupid. I'm not saying it looks stupid on some of the cars..but these guys at school have a stock 88 civic with stickers on it..they were all "ahh cool where'd you get those stickers at?" < they were army stickers> and he was "i got them at my recruiters"..so yea..anyways..when I get my digital camera I got a car at school I'll take a pic of for you..It's a Civic with a cold air intake and a 3" exhaust. Those are theo nly performance mods..then he has a full body kit..17 inch rims..and a big wing..

--

And the NSX is acura

--Oh yea..today that guy with the Civic was talking to this girl and I heard him say "my exhuast sounds great when i get it up around 4000rpms "..so not that you guys care :D laters

Yea i was just coming back to edit that...didn't wanna sound liek a jackass! I've been living under a rock I guess...

Yes we tend to make fun of him at times. I don't really have anything against hondas..They're nice young family type cars IMO..i see nothing wrong with adding body kit and exhaust to a stock 240 tho..im biased i guess..but they're sport cars..so blah.

You know you’re a Honda owner when...Is this freaking thread ever going to end?

True Slide I have only one thing to say to you... Amen. That Daishin S-15 is freaking bad!

Hey Honda boys, what do you hope to accomplish by coming over here and invading our little niche of cyber space. If you have come over he to engage in some useful dialogue, welcome to our board. I hope to get your take on a lot of issues. But if you came over to start sheot, because someone got their panties in a bunch and wanted you to come over here to defend your make of car, do use a favor and leave.

To all Nico members, have we ever explored why there is a lot of Nissan v. Honda competition/bashing/trash talking? I don’t see threads listed “You know you’re a Subaru/Toyota/Mitsubishi owner when…” I think some of use are a bunch of “Kill Joys.”

Again, making blanket statements that are not always true. What is the class in the JCTC that is dominated by Integras and Civics? Honda has a good racing heritage....does Nissan even have a current F1 program? OH because Honda had TWO teams this past season...Toyota even entered the fray...meanwhile Nissan runs Lola chassis in AML....wow.

Back to my Roger Foo statement, he won that one race, won rookie of the year, and did consistantly well, and do you know how much money it cost him? 12k to build the car (a real lot of money)...a car that competed with new 3-series and Type Rs and BEAT THEM.

You guys make fun of Hondas like our cars aren't underpowered...Stock for stock will a Type R take a 240 yes.

Thats great that the Silvia set a record....but in the same breath the Mugen NSX is HIGHLY competitive and has won championships, so I don't know what you are getting at...

Super Taikyu 500 N1. 5 classes from fastest to slowest

1st: ONLY SKYLINES R34

2nd: EVO VIIs and Imprezas

3rd: RX-7s, M3s, NSX, and Silvias

4th: stock s2000 integras and Civics

5th: Lesser modified integras and altezzas

Hmmm...i guess if silvias where in a class of their own like you see above, then we will have a strong racing hertagie too but since we belive in comp. things are harder but then again we do have the skylines ahead of all the classes oh yeah thats right they are the fastes in this N1 race...sorry pal but until you honda owners gather your balls and step up a class and race silvias onlyt then can we talk about your racing pride!

Awesome!!! Comparing to a silvia to a car in class deemed "higher" then it. NSX compared to the Silvia, kinda unfair for the silvia, but hey I guess thats where It belongs. Why not compare a NSX to a Skyline, oh wait that domination. Its cool that you accept the silvia on the same level as the NSX.

I'm pretty sure last time I was watching the Speed Channel (not sure what race it was, I was doing homework while watching) The field consisted of 240sx, RX-7s, and like 2 integras.

the skyline won this years JGTC by beating out the mugen NSX by like 0.2 of a second...hondas aren't bad cars, when it comes to jdm vs jdm some of these hondas sure as hell can hang wit us but here in america, it's a different story

I'll say it again.... this talk of racing herritage is nonsense! All it does is give the idiots some bragging rights. It has NOTHING to do with what automaker has a better product. It's just like the redneck that will ONLY drive Chevy because Ricky Rudd drives one. As if to say that Chevy makes a better car because they won more Busch series or Winston cup races. WHO GIVES A FINGER FUC#ING s***!!!:rolleyes

A Skyline isn't a 240. Don't resort to your big brother to help you.

The classes are mandated by the racing organizations, and I am primarily talking about SCCA, in classes that are close to stock since that is what we all drive.

In the SCCA Street Touring class, where are the 240's. Oh I see, down there in 42nd place.

http://www.scca.org/amateur/so....html

In fact, nearly as I can tell, that is the only 240 in all of the SCCA Stock and Street Prepared classes. Hmmmmmmmmm, I wonder why?
