First off... my compliments to the Versa forum. You guys rock!!! So many great members and threads in such a short time. Keep it up!

Now on to business..

**UPDATE 1/7/08 - The vender who was previously producing and selling these logos for us has apparently gone out of business. Please do NOT order these logos until we've found a new supplier. That info will be updated here as soon as possible. Thanks!**

How would you like to sport the official http://www.NissanVersa.org logo decals on your hot new Versa?

The first task is to design and agree upon a logo design. It's up to you guys with the help of your moderators to come up with a design for http://www.nissanversa.org logos. Here's an example of the http://www.240sxconvertible.com logo.

Based off this design, using the silouette of the Versa with the text underneath might be a cool design. But, it's up to you all.

Any questions... post 'em up! Design ideas.... post 'em up!

I hope I'm not alone, but I think this is a killer idea. I've only had it about 6hrs, but I love my Versa already! Here's my idea for the logo, based on your suggestion of the outline style like the 240sx logo.I can vary the width and shape of the outline, and the text too of course. Also, I'll attached some alternative fonts. I just tried to match the one from the NissanVersa.org home page banner. If someone (admin?) could tell me the exact font, I'll insert it.Everyone chime it with your favorite, or post your own.The more members who get involved in the design process, the better product we'll end up with.As a side note to Eikon: Do these decals go inside or outside?Do they affect the window operation at all? What (if any) color choices do we have other than white?I noticed that FabulousGraphics has carbon fiber material. Would this be a possibility and how much more are we talking? One last thing, what's the size of the 240sx logo you posted?

Cheers!Elmojo

Here are the alternative fonts:

I forgot to mention that if we decide to go with some version of my design, I can give it to the cutter in AutoCAD format, which should make the template cutting a bit easier.

Nice work Elmojo!

This is exactly what I was hoping to see.

I'll defer to Scott from Fabulous Graphix to discuss application (which side is sticky) and cost for custom materials, etc... He'll pop in here soon. I can tell you that they will have no impact on the operation of the window.

The 240sx 'vert logo is about 7" long.

I definitely like this one; it is kind of hi tech and modern. Also some good looking car models would be nice!

Keep us posted!

1- excellent idea, im down

2- this font is best, the one that looks most similar to the official nissan logo font.

3- versa silhouette is ugly, try to use the type of silhouette impression used in the infiniti M commercial where the firey red horizontal lines represent that good areas of the vehicle. Im hoping uve seen the M commercial that im talking about.

4- Is it possible for the maker to make a model and test it on an actual versa window, to see what size is appropriate so it doesnt end up looking too big or taking away from the space of the window?

5- Do you ship to Canada? I can pay extra.

6- ignore the www. , no need for that, just nissanversa.org is cool.

Let's get some examples of logo's and go from there. Hopefully there are multiple people looking into designing their view an appropriate NissanVersa logo

Let me see if I can respond to several comments/questions at once without it getting too confusing:

Versabbo: I like it, but I don't quite get the meaning of the lower swipe, especially the loop? What am I missing?I think this style is what Sahandman was referring to in regards to the Infiniti M commercial? I agree that we should drop the "www". However, I must disagree with him on one point, I think the Versa outline is beautiful, and anyone who thinks it's ugly probably wouldn't want a sticker on their window advertising this site. I also think the antenna should be part of the logo, since it's such a major factor in the overall look of the car. Just my thoughts.

fabulous graphix: Thanks for adressing my/our questions. I say forget the carbon, it was just a wild thought. I would prefer white, since my car is white, but I assume that each person could order any of the basic colors you mentioned? I would want the decal on the outside, as long as you think durability wouldn't be an issue. Inside would be fine, but some (most?) of us have or will be getting window tint, and it may interfere with the visibility of the decal. File format is no problem. ai and pdf are easy for me to export.

Sizing: When Scott mentioned the 7" minimum size, I assume that was the length. At that size, my design (if unedited) would be 7" long x 1.8" tall.versabbo's design (also unedited) would be 7" long x 2.3" tall. Also, I assume that versabbo's design would be inverted to black before cutting?

Here's my edited suggestion. This is the closest that I can find to the Nissan Factory font.

I hope I haven't muddied the waters too much. I'm really excited about getting these decals on my window(s) ASAP!

the loop at the end of the second stroke is the tail light, looking at it in a 3/4 view from the rear. I think the tailight is one of the unique standout feature on the car just like 350z, thats why i included it. But it probably look a little too big.

so I made a little adjustment to it.

Nice sketch!! And i like the font too

However the tail light gives the impression that the drawing was not finished in my opinion, if you take it off (or make it less "present") this gives somewhat a fast preview of Versa without too much detail i think that if you want to keep the tail light, you need to give more detail to the sketch so it is more complete.

just my thought...

Wow!I totally dig audtatious' design, inverted colors of course, but with with the font from my latest design. I would like to see the antenna included somehow, maybe similar to the last design from versabbo, but I'm not sure how it would come out.audtatious: would you do a draft with the antenna so we can see it?fabulous graphics: I would love to be a sample tester.

These are initially being designed for the side windows (I'm sure windshield banners can be made as well). The problem with the antenna is that it is a small piece that will be a weak point and will probably peel or tear.

Elmojo's redesign of audtatious's initial design is amazing. I think its perfect, maybe the lettering can be lowered a bit, or the VERSA font made a tiny bit larger than the nissan and .org lettering.

Versaboo's graphic seems kinda complicated for a decal that should be simple and "to the point", nice sketch though.

i personally think the simpler the decal, the better it looks. a solid outline of the hood and roof + antenna, plus the horizontal line that outlines the window with nissanVERSA.org would be nice. ill try and make one and post it soon.

I agree with audtatious about the antenna being a weak spot. If Scott thinks it will work, I'd like to have it included, at least on mine. I really think the semi-unique design of the antenna is a major factor in this car's appearance. At least that's my opinion, and we all know how important that is! (not at all)

On a related point, I was thinking last night (yeah, I dream about my Versa!) about sticker placement as well. I took some photos this morning and did a few overlays to see how it would look. The attached photo and the next few posts will show the results.

Sorry for the extreme glare in these photos, it's overcast here today, which is terrible for reflective object (windows) shooting.

Admin: How can I attach more than one photo to a single post?

Passenger side, rear quarter window. This is my favorite, and where my decals will be going.I think it looks the best, it's not in anyone's line of sight, and this window doesn't move, which eliminates any window operation issues.

Looks good! I agree on the quarter window. That's the only place I'll put stickers on my cars...

You can't attach multiple photos to a single post, but you can use [img] tags to add photos already on the internet to posts, and you can add as many as you'd like. Use NICO's Photopost gallery (link on the menu bars at the top of the site) to upload, then just copy and paste the target into your post.

I say we go with the latest design and start production. I think simplicity works best, so the top outline with the antenna and clean-looking NissanVersa.org lettering, in my opinion, looks best.

When can we start ordering these bad boys??

Hey guys, Thanks for the compliments, but it was audtatious who actually did the outline, I just tweaked it a bit.I agree, the design is perfect. Let's get some samples run so I can test them out.Scott: What graphic format is your favorite? I can give just about anything you want.

How big are the Versa rear quarter windows? If someone can get a measurement so we can be sure these will fit there, we should be set.
