I think Scott should pick a font he thinks cuts the best for this application, something as close to the original "look" as possible, and put this project to bed.

This poor guy is only trying to make some decals for a bunch of guys on a web board, we really shouldn't be putting him through the paces for jagged edges or cuts that don't look quite right to us "perfectionists..."

I'm not trying to be a d*ck here either, but when someone is spending his own cash to do us a favor, I feel bad making him constantly go back to the drawing board on this.

Scott, do the best you can - and when you've had enough, I'll be one of the first to buy a decal. $5 is a bargain, thanks for all your hard work.

The point of my posts wasn't to downplay Scott's hard work. He's done a fantastic job. I was just asking for suggestions on making the design better. If you'll read the entire thread, you'll see that this project is very much a work in progress.

Dude, that Viper is Freakin' Awesome!Me want. I'll get the file to Ben so he can vectorize it. Maybe that will come out better. If you find something in the meantime that you think looks and cuts well, try to let us see it if you can get hold of a camera.I hope we aren't too much of a pain. I for one plan to purchase a set of the final version, even though the prototype looks really good from anything more than about 3 feet. Thanks again!Elmojo

Last night I cleaned up the vectors in the type and retraced the silhouette. Scott you were right about that being a cheapo font. I simplified the curves and smoothed the nodes. I wish I had the NISSAN font. It seems wrong to be doing this decal using the ISUZU font. I sent you the EPS file and Corel Draw 12 file in case you want to go native. I don't know what software you use to cut, but most sign shops I know use Corel for design.

If ANYONE has a Nissan font set, please pass it on. I have looked all over and found some similar, but not the actual font set.

Call NISSAN Corporate and ask for Marketing Communications or Media Relations. Someone there will tell you the font or even send you some logos.

I was wondering the same, but didn't want to bother Scott. I know he's probably gearing up for SEMA now.

I like the VERSA, but the cursive font won't work very well for a decal. It's too fine. Did you make the VERSA from scratch or did you find the font?

Also, two-color decals are very expensive and time consuming. I'd think we will stay with a single color, right Scott?

Guys, I'm so sorry. I've been swamped with work and travel pretty much non-stop for the past month or so.Scott sent me the new decals, but I haven't had time to apply them yet.Our weather here hasn't been exactly perfect for decal application. Anyway, I am declaring the decals READY FOR DISTRIBUTION.These look terrific! I like the font sizes better on this version, and the cutting is much cleaner than the previous, thanks Ben for the vectorizing. You guys (and gals) can now pony up the bills and reward Scott for his hard work and patience dealing with my (our) pickiness.

I'll post pics as soon as I can, but I promise you'll like these!

Hi TweeKeer,

from the looks of one of your Versa S modification photos, I purchased it from your place of work.

Man, I'm such a loser!I was in on the design of these decals since the beginning, and was even the guinea--err--tester for the decals, and now I can't even give you guys pics. I'm so sorry. I promise I'll get them applied ASAP. However, I can tell you that you probably won't even see the difference in the pics. The noticeable changes are the size of the word VERSA against the size of NISSAN. Versa is a bit larger now. Also, the overall cutting is much cleaner, thanks to BenDupre's awesome vectorization of the raster font.Buy them now! They look fantastic, and Scott's put a lot of time and effort into these for us.In fact, I need to mail Scott some cash to cover my set.

Pics to follow soon, I promise!

As I stated earlier, just look at the pics I posted earlier. The new decals are almost identical to them. The only difference is that 'Versa' is now a bit larger than 'Nissan' and the overall cutting is much cleaner due to Scott having a better font to work with from DenDupre.Stop stalling, buy these, they rock!
