On my way to the beach my clutch cable gave out on me going down the freeway in my old Shadow so a buddy of mine put it into gear by hand. Only thing is he put it in fourth or fifth and we were already on an incline, so after 10 minutes of non-stop double clutching we got off the freeway. Halfway trying to find a place to park the damn thing the clutch gave out and we pushed it to some qwik mart or something, lifted the hood and metal shavings all over the place so my buddy points out,"Yep, thats your clutch." Oh well picked it up the next day with a friends Bronco. Also with the same car I was driving out on the back roads with a friend and a bushing that keeps the clutch cable connected came off, so I sat there for like fifteen minutes before I found out what was wrong, just grabbed a pen and cut it in half, worked perfectly.Last one, me and a buddy were heading to Fresno and his heater core decide to piss all over the place. So we of course decide to by pass it.......well neither of us remembered to relieve the pressure so when he pulled the hose off boiling hot water sprayed like six feet out of the engine compartment. Damn that was shi**y, ended up blistering his hand pretty bad(wish i still had the pics) but luckily like a good mechanic he was holding his face away and to the side otherwise a face full of hot coolant would have meant a trip to the hospital.

manhattan is probably 1 of the best places to break down, in the sense that youre not alone on any part of the island. My friends pos mirage caught a flat once in pa in the middle of nowhere between last town for miles and next town for miles. Had to limp home with half a toyt left.

This was back before I got my 240. I had an 89 camry. and apparently when my pops bought it off ebay and surprised me with it, he didnt thoroughly check out the systems.....and so the oil temp gauge wouldnt tell me if the car was overheating. which it did. in the middle of f***ing I-42 in south jersey. so me and my siblings had to push it out of the way of oncoming traffic onto the shoulder. THAT was some scary ish....

ok, When I first got my '94 Volvo 850 it was New Year's Eve and I was driving to a party and the motor blew and left about a softball sized hole in the block. Luckily it blew right before I passed a gas station and it still had enough momentum to pull me in there. So I spent my '06/'07 beginning in a Chevron gas station with myself and 2 friends

My front left wheel fell off on the middle of an overpass haha... all five lug nuts somehow came off at the same time and were laying in a pile on the side of the road, i'm still confused how that happens... and of course it was Friday the 13th. Luckily it did hardly any damage... my wheel ended up rolling for about a half a mile down the road.

The first week I got my s14 it threw the alternator belt. I was able to just coast down to some doctor offices and it was pouring rain. Also, I was bringing my new S13 coupe home just a week ago and it died on me going up a hill. It had a blown head gasket...but I only gave the guy $300 for it. Thank God I haven't had trouble on the highway.

Haha yeah i remember when this one was created.

Anyways I had to get my 240 towed for the first time the other night. Heater core hose popped off after some parking lot fun. Pulled into a parking spot real quick and turned the car off, all my coolant was under the car instead of in the radiator. It was dark so we couldn't where the hose came off, hence the reason for towing. I have AAA so it was like 30 bucks, not bad at all. That parking lot happened to be under high video surveillance, as the cops came by to me under my car about 5 minutes later. Stern warning and no tickets FTW!

I got one. So my bro, a friend and I where on our way to pick up some coilovers for my car 3 hours away. This is in a vw Gti mk2 by the way. As soon as we get of the free way the left axle comes of breaking everything in it's path I cluding punching a hole in the transmission. So we walk to a home depot to pick up some bolts. Unfortunately they only had 4 of the ones we needed, the axle takes 8 bolts. we also bought some metal in a tube. so we finaly but everything back. the axle also messed up the linkage so for over three hours we drove with a hole in the transmission and four out of eight bolts and on fourth gear. It sucked lol

I was out looking for new places to do freeride mountain biking so I was in the middle of nowhere in a 1983 F-250XLT and I should have known better than to take the worlds least reliable vehicle ever to the middle of nowhere. Anyway I was bouncing over some pretty big rocks and took a bad bounce causing a rock to come in between the bumper and the motor and tear my trans cooler line off. It really sucks to get stuck where a tow truck can't come get you especially when your friends don't own vehicles capable of going offroad. It was espeically nice because the sun was setting and I had no cellphone signal, at least I had my bike .

I have a couple bad times. You can flame me all you want. Back in the day before we had legal events in Kansas City, I was out drifting in this industrial isolated and safe lot and really destroyed my tires. I had a hole in one I could stick a pen through and the other was bubbling through the steel belts. It wasn't the best neighborhood so I stopped at a gas station in the light to change my wheels. This was back when I had a convertible 240. Another time in the same car I was out sliding again and my main coil wire popped off and I thought I blew the motor because the timing had messed all up mid slide and then cut. It sounded like it was sick. So I had to control the car with no power to the wheels around 50 mph. Luckily I had just learned off throttle drifting. Now I'll just have issues at the track. My insurance covers tow to my house now too

S14:

Spun it out in he rain, ended up in a yard. drove about a mile back with no tire what so ever.

RX-7:

Alt died in rush hour. on the opposite side of the break down lane. Stopped on the on ramp, stole some component speaker wire ad rigged it.

SC300:

Alt died on Rivers Ave ( main road with a 6in curb on my side for about mile or so. Had to push that two ton beast solo. I'm 5'7 130ish.

Everyone helped, but no one honked. GREAT. Thanks.

Wheel studs broke about a 1/2 mile from m house. limped home on ONE stud.

i got everyone beat....ok so here it goes....

RB20 in a s13 was driving on the highway doing about 65ish 70...and bamm what ya know car goes WOT out of no where and its stuck im bashing the throttle with my foot hoping it unsticks but nothing.... heres the worst part turbo starts boosting ( garrett top mount) and its moving faster then a raped ape and this is around 1030 at night traffic was so so..

since i couldnt move threw all these 4 lanes to avoid everyone i pulled the key out and watched her die while i coasted to a stop and she stops in the darkest section of the highway...

I start the car and goes straight to redline and im screaming at the top of my lungs punchin my dash cuz everyone is flying past me within inches of hitting me.... I call the cops tell them where im at and to hurry the f*** up...

I get out fo the car and im looking under the hood IN THE MIDDLE LANE OF THE HIGHWAY!!! this lady in a nissan titatan stop herr car about 8 feet behind mine and is screaming at me to run to the shouldercuz her husband was in the hospital for the same thing that had just happened to me...

Taking her advice i run to the shoulder watching as my car almost get smacked by fart can honda...then a big chevy SUV and so on and so forth im basally pulling my hair out and this goes on for an hour!!!! still no cops no help no nothing!! i finally make a move and flag down a tow truck which brings me and the s13 home... stressed as hell that I put my life on the line PLUS the s13 almost got smacked so i go straight to sleep...

NEXT MORNING i wake up throw the key in the ignition to try to fix her and wat do you know... SHES 100% normal idling smother then ever... hasnt given me an issue since...

WORD OF ADVICE...

NEVER talk about selling your car while your in it driving it!!! they have ears and will seek revenge!!!

Broke down (slave cylinder died) on the York circuit last summer. Couldn't get it in gear after the first red light, and I live 45miles away so... I towed it for around 140 dollars lol. Can't leave my baby stranded.
