well last night(this morning) my clutch master, decided to give out leaving me stuck in NYC , Manhatten on 20 st between 5 ave and broadway around 3am in the morning . had to call my friend and have him pick up my extra slave and master I had laying around. wasn't bad working in the streets, just had to deal with the drunken idiots going by, a fight here and there... i bled the system right onto the street and when all was done i was back in gear....anyone else with a bad breakdown and repair incident...?I always carry the cam.. also a homeless guy provided the cardboard

Not really a breakdown, nor a badplace, but kinda funny.

When I had my truck, the floater thing was messed up, and I knew I was getting low on gas, so as I turned into the gas station, the truck died, lmao, I was stuck in the middle of the entrance. Had to get some people help me push my truck to the pumps. lmao

I'm actually gonna spend the day in Manhattan tomorrow. I haven't really broken down, but my car died on me well over 10 times in heavy traffic back when i had alternator problems.

Working in the streets ftw! On my way back from a deep sea fishing my mom's '95 pathfinder threw the alternator/water pump belt fan, we probably drove a good 30 miles on the highway before we pulled into a parking lot in San Antonio. We had to buy the belt and tools which we were able to buy in the shopping center we pulled into. I installed the new belt in the target parking lot and we were back on the road in an hour or so.

Should have driven home with out the using clutch and just rev match shifts

u still need the clutch to get in to 1st gear.the other gears you could go clutch less and even down shift as well.

or start the car in 1st gear..lol

My first two cars always made it home when they decided to break down, it just took a little longer. The first one gave up completely on the way to the transmission shop, it was a 5 mile drive and I was only 3 minutes away when the transmission gave up and wouldn't even try to move. It was a very busy road so we had it towed the rest of the way the next morning.

Luckily the 240 is still good.

my power steering high pressure line hose caught on the power steering pulley which then ate through in seconds. i had to push my car back from the jack in the box drive thru. after going from pep boys, to checkers, autozone finally had one for $70

My car just turned off once at 80 mph on route 18 in Jersey, I pulled over to the side and saw my master coil wire popped off, I cleaned it off, put it on and then it was fine. It was a little scary though.

My worst location was a few years back when my car (not 240) just died on NV hwy 318 (I was going NB). Next vehicle that came by was 18-wheeler SB, 40 minutes later. He stopped to help, ended up giving me a ride south to the next town (Alamo). Found a tow truck, and we drove back to the car (clocked 69 miles, thats sixty-nine!). Got it fixed and I continued north. I clocked the next town (Lund) at 40 miles which did not have any auto service facilities, and to my destination (Ely) at 70 miles which had the nearest tow service to the north. I was dead center between the two nearest auto service facilities.BTW, the problem was the ignition wire broke in multiple places, inside the wire covering.

HA! I got one for you. I while after my swap, I hooked up some Altima electric fans. Unfortunately, some of the wires weren't in good contact and melted the fuel pump fuse the I had them tied into. So of course, the fuse gives out on me while I'm stopped at a stop light at a 4 way intersection on the busiest road in my area while I'm in the middle lane. Almost had 5 people slam into the back of my car before they realised my car was stopped at the light...

My old white car with the KA popped the alternator belt wile at 5500rpms, Took the automatic trans cooler lines with it. I dumped all 9qt's of fluid on 204 and had a 30mile tow back to the house.

The SR in the new one has shot of ic pipe countless times. Once right by a neighborhood wile passing someone, down a street with marsh on both sides ect ect. Then popped the ign fuse once due to a gauge grounding out that was wired to it.

Mine broke down on the main road. The little hose in the fuel pump broke.I had to open the fuel pump cover on the side of the road and buy a small piece of hose...wasn't fun but better than paying the tow truck

it's amazing what your able to do in the worst circumstances. also if the clutch went out driving on the highway it wouldnt be a problem , but in stop and go traffic.. well thats where i got !@#$ .. It started acting funny when I pulled into 42nd street... the car was acting like the clutch disc itself was slipping... so i pulled over anyway to call a friend, when a cop told me to move...I had to pick up a friend by grammercy park... 20th st is a far i made it lol....clutch when straight to the floor and stayed there..it wasnt a bad night just irritating ,

My Clutch master slave cyl was going out, bled it about 2 times before the last. I was driving to my girlfriends... right as I got there the damn thing went out. My dad chained me up on his infinitie and drug me home where he pretty much just bought the damn thing and put it on. (I was poor and my dad came to the rescue! FTMW!)

i think the worst place to break down in the Seattle area would be one of the bridges.. no place to pull over and if there is a shoulder its small and dangerous. on top of that its an automatic 500$ fine for blocking traffic. double suckage. hasnt happeend to me yet though!

I left work about 15min to run and get some gas real quick. I planned on going back to punch out but on the way to the gas station my clutch went out. I had to call someone to come pick me up. Luckily nobody noticed me punching out a few minutes late.

That harsh bro, i woulda called AAA. Especially if i were in NY.

I didn't get stuck in a big public area or nothing, but rather out in the local hills.I had set up the new suspension, i went out to the nearest hills to mess around & try them out when my clutch went out. i pulled over to the far side of the road & (after 20 min of thinking) took off the dampener. I got ready to g and as soon as i let the e-brake off, BAM!!some dude hit me going 35 and cause alot of frame damage im in the process of getting it fixed
