Go holland!!...finally they have a shot here...I think if they get their defense right and with some discipline at the back and their creativity at the front, they should be able to beat spain. Or germany if they get past spain. Its gonna be tight but id bet on spain to sneak by. Iniesta, Xavi, villa, torres et al...just too much talent there and with their brutal short passing, they should control the game and win.

Would be great if germany get by as well. Holland and germany have a history..

No effin way there...diego forlan notwithstanding, uruguay would never have beaten the netherlands...the later are simply way too good..suarez would'nt have made much of a difference...Hes good alright but still.. You can watch him in their next match. They are gonna be fourth after losing to spain or germany.

Are you serious? Luiz Suarez is the main reason Uruguay go that far. Having Forlan Place some nice balls from the outside helped a ton too. But watch any game With suarez and notice how often he's on the ball or how freakin much they mentioned his absence.

Brazil shouldnt have lost, so hopefully germany can get past spain, which Not having Mueller is gonna kinda suck but At least Schweinsteiger, Klose, and Podolski are still there with Tons of support from Oezil and Kadira. Not to mention the beast Boateng.

Spain will really have to unite for this one.

Brasil deserved to lose. Their defense was lacking and the only thing that seemed to matter for them was being flashy, which they also lacked. They were boring to watch this tournament. A new era of football greats are coming, the likes of Ghana, Japan, Serbia are starting to get better.

Yup, and the Dutch will be the underdogs regardless of who they play in the finals. I'd really like to see them win, they have the potential, but they need to take advantage of every opportunity they get (like the 3 right in front of goalie but I was too late to kick situations). If they can do that, they'll have a good chance of taking the cup. So far, they've been pretty good with teamwork, but they need a little more communication in terms of defense.

That header goal by Robben was hilarious. Goalie just stood in the center and looked at the ball :rotfl :rotfl

That, or he force-guided it in by accident. Douche. Makes great saves one game, then flops like Conejo the other.

yea, i got worried whenever it came time for the dutch to defend. definitely needs some work there. and as you say, they really need to capitalize on every one on one chance they get with the goalie.

Now thats just an astonishing understatement. Diego Forlan is a world class player and he showed only too well this world cup. He will again I suspect, in their next and the last match. To say that the did well to place some balls around is just unfair. And ridiculous. Suarez is dangerous. He is good. But thats that. I agree though that Spain have to really, and really get their act together against germany. They both DONT look like they did in the 08 euro. Which is good for germany and bad for spain. Despite their performance so far, they still arent playing their best. Lets see what they're gonna do tomorrow. Hope they watched the videos of germany against argentina, aus and england (and also serbia) thoroughly and have some strategies in place. The germans are mostly defending and relying on their speed and counter attacks. Which means that their strategy includes not to waste any opportunities. Spain will have to defend well and have a lot of patience. And not give much room to oezil who is their real playmaker. Ballack not playing is turning out to be good for them.

Yeah, it could have been 5-1 (before U's last goal), which would have been hella impressive considering Uruguay's defense has been stellar against every team except the Dutch. I was honestly surprised how efficiently they were able to break through with short passes and fakes.

I wouldn't of picked either of them in the Cup. And that is before the Cup started.

yea, i too was amazed at how easily the dutch broke through most of the times. haven't been really watching Spain's or Germany's matches. Thinking about it now, the dutch defense in this last match wasn't so bad. They'd somehow miraculously tighten up at the last minute to prevent shots on goal. Worked well for their counters. The only problem is aside from Robben, i don't see any other speed type player up front for the Dutch, so just about all their counters would immediately be negated around mid-field or just approaching the 18yd box.

Agreed. Robben usually ends up playing games with the ball near the penalty area waiting for Sneijder and van Persie to come through. The two goals they let slip was bad goalkeeping. He mis judged the first one, should have blocked with both hands. Second one was more difficult to predict because of the people in front, but still.

i wouldn't exactly call it bad goalkeeping. the first goal, you can see that the goalie was fooled by the ball's last minute change in direction. the ball looked as if it was going to his right, but then changed and went to his left. the second goal, was just a miscalculation of placement due to the amount of people in front of him. In the finals, they really can't afford all these slight mistakes. I'm not sure about Spain's playing style, but it seems Germany's a very methodical type of team who will take all chances given.

Germany did a smart thing taking their U21 into a world tourney, really shows the high class of soccer that Germans are known for.

I am just afraid that those Spanish superstars are gonna form Voltron and stomp through the German defense.

I hope the Ref calls a good match and the yellow and red cards stay to a minimum.

i honestly feel like maybe with this recent World Cup that the US will have some fan's now and the MLS grows in attendance and in player quality. Im Mexican and the Mexican national team will ALWAYS be my team by birth and tradition. But the US is my home and has my heart, so i will ALWAYS back them up against other teams... its a b**** when they play each other though. lol

I didn't pick either one of them, its just that I needed it to play out that way so I win by total picks. It was a sweet 16 type bracket.

Way to make the first 5minutes absolutely boring Spain.

Also Germany looks like they are playing overly defensive, Oezil needs to step it up a little.

That seemed deliberate, Ramos. If you can't get the ball, stop the foot i guess.

It seems like they both just played a game an hour ago. why so many missed passes?

Man spain's passing games slow the pace of the game soooooooooooooooooo much.

My sentiments exactly.

I wonder how different the outcome would have been had Mueller not gotten that yellow in the Argentina game that kept him from playing today.
