Need help finding a place for wiring my s14 Sr20det Harness. Is Wiringspecialties a good place. Can anyone convince me to go to wiringspecialties? Can anyone convince me not to go. Feedback would be appreciated

Yury is a great guy. He does awesome work and is very professional. I would recommend him for anyone doing an SR swap/chassis swap. He did my wiring harness and everything works great. I had a small problem but, one call to him and he took care of it.

Yuri did the harness on my first SR years ago, I had some problems and had to switch 2 wires. I called and was on the phone with him for over an hour testing wires once we found the problem it was a 2 minute fix. I later had a friend shrinkwrap the entire harness and made it a little neater. Great customer service, Yuri is great at what he does, he wanted me to send the harness back free of charge but I wanted my car running asap so he stayed with me on the phone while I found the problem.

I had my harness done like 2 years ago.

Yury even called me back to ask me some questions about the TPS plug (I guess there are two different kinds? idk)

anyways. $100 bucks for no hastle aint too bad IMO. I was satisfies, everything works great. Only thing they didnt do is extend the Power Steering sensor but idk what that even does so I could care less.

How long did it take for each of you to get you harness? reason Im asking is because I sent it in to him 6weeks ago and still havent got it back yet. Ive emailed him a couple of times around the 3rd to 4th week and he said they are almost done. Now, he has had it for 7 weeks. Any body have problems same problems?

I'm sure it's just due to the fact that he has a lot of harnesses to work on. 7 weeks is a long time though. I had a local shop do my swap and they did the harness. Their guy they were using got fired after he jacked my harness up. They got everything working, but I should've pushed them to by me a new harness. I've unwrapped everything and found that even though most of the connections are soldered (3 are crimped, but not sure if that's a factory thing), he wrapped the soldered joints with tape instead of heat shrink tube, and cut back (to short lengths) wires associated with the A/C. Good thing i had a SOHC KA and didn't swap in the A/C, too bad I have the SR compressor and want to have the A/C installed

Pretty sure that's the sensor that lets the ECU know to bump up engine RPM's when the steering is at full lock so you don't risk stalling out.

^ I doubt he'll give you a discount. I know that after I get done fixing my harness (and cutting it to length, which is the main reason I've taken in apart), I won't need to send off an S13 to S13 harness.

+1, Yury is the MAN!

As far as a discount, there's really no such thing. You're paying for a service, not a part, so there's no comparison-shopping.

Pay the asking price and know you're getting a well-done harness with no hassles.

Thanks for all the feedback. He started to be very helpful in the first couple of weeks. Im just upset that it took 7weeks to complete when he said the turnaround time was 3-4 weeks. On the 4th week I asked him how it was coming along, and he said it should be done in a couple of days. I just got an email from him saying its complete. FINALLY, after 7 weeks.

Thanks again guys.

Not used on SR's

As ofr Yury, hes great, i think it only took me 2 weeks to get mine back including shipping time. I didnt put my harness for months and i had a question on it and he answered everything i had to ask even though it had been a few mounths.

My first SR swap, I used him. Turn around was fast, and everything worked fine. Only complaint was that the MAF wire was wrapped kinda weak (E-tape unraveled fast), and the harness is all bunched up in two places (behind the head and in the passenger side area behind the strut tower). It doesn't look very clean. No probs with things not working though, so that was good! I do my own wiring nowadays, lol.

Does he cut everything to length? Meaning, are the wires the right lengths to get to everything in the USDM chassis, but all extra lengths of wire are cut down so you don't have a bunch of wire looping around? I can't really tell by your pic.

everything is the proper lenght to go in a usdm chassis.

harness on the motor. it took me 20 mins to plug everything in.

pictures don't do the harness justice.

let me preface my post by saying this:

i dont like blowing someones candle out to make my glow brighter...

but..

i have had to repair a good number of wiring specialties' harnesses. maybe yuri isnt the one doing every single one, but i am the only one that puts my name of my harnesses.

with bumnah's harness, i did the customary fold over fat section that tucks behind the valve cover. its an effective way to handle the excess is wire do to it being a RHD harness... and with each one i do, i find a better, nicer way to perform the conversion.

i do not believe is cutting each wire and physically shortening them. its not that it causes any real issue, its just the fact that it is already a tedious job as it is, and that would only add to turn around.. not to mention the high chance of mixing up grounds, having swelled sections in the harness do to solder/shrink points, yadda yadda.

the way i route all harnesses now (always have done it this way on S13 into S14) moves the excess to into the vehicle. this not only gives the harness even more of a factory fit, but also allows the ecu to be placed onto the passenger seat/floor board for easier acces during rom tuning.

i have been doing wiring coversions for nissans for the last 8, almost 9 years now and the only issues i have ever run into have been due to installer error. every unnecessary circuit is removed... not just cut and taped over, but DEPINNED, removed... gone. A/C is always wired into place, no matter what it requested because sometimes... people change their mind. and since its only 2 wires... it stays. the P/S plug as mentioned above... yeah that goes. unneeded clutter. you can google search my name and find a wealth of information about me and about my reputation.

if anyone is interested in using my services, i am best reached the following ways:

email : [email protected]: vortecflor by phone/text message: 813.766.9304

i personally guarantee every harness i assemble for as long as you own your vehicle.

^ I guess he doesn't do every harness, bc I've never heard (note that I said heard) of any major issues with Yuri's harnesses. I didn't think about just tucking the the fatter section back behind the valve cover :-p I'm going to just do that to save myself a lot of time and headache. Bumnah, your bay looks nice.

yeah, just fold the harness at the O2 sensor, leaving it to hang about 2in or so.

Well, i thought I'd update you guys. I think Wiring specialties was in a rush or something because I dont think my harness turned out that good. some of the shrink wrapping sucks and I had to extend a few plugs myself. Maybe he had a new guy work on my harness for 7 weeks and yuri approved it. This is my first time with them and I dont think I will go to them again. i gave him all the specs to my car and said, "if you need anymore info on my car and what im running, please ask." Well, guess what. When I got my harness I thought it would be trouble free, but like I said its not bad but not what I expected from holding on to it for 7 weeks. He included a note that asked MAF I was gonna run after he shipped it out.

-1 for this company.
