As a driving school classroom instructor, I am simply amazed on how many new drivers have already been exposed to drivers who were impaired by drugs and or alcohol. About 80% of the new drivers have been in a car where the driver was impaired by drugs and or alcohol....... this scares the **** out of me.

I am curious, I anyone planning to drive impaired by drugs and or alcohol over the Holiday?

I will post another poll after the holiday asking if you did. Let's see how close it will be. REMEMBER TO BE HONEST, YOU WONT GET IN TROUBLE FROM ME!

For God's sake guys, PLEASE don't let me down....

If you don't care about your own well-being, please, please think of the other drivers on the road you might endanger.

OR, at least consider this... You may not even have done anything wrong, but one little fender-bender caused by someone else and you're STILL looking at the possibility of a DUI.

Seriously guys - It's not worth it.

Please behave and be safe out there. I don't ever want to hear of one of you getting hurt or dead (or ruining smoeone else's day) because of a stupid choice.

It really disturbs me that some people have said they will. I really hope you guys get stopped for a inspection and get busted.

I am beginning to think legislation that would require you pass a Breathalyzer before you can start your car would be a good idea for everyone. States have begun requiring this for convicted offenders, but I think it might be a good idea to just make it standard equipment for every car.

I know you're not planning to Leroy, but right now on the poll three people have said they will/most likely.

Judging by the headline title, I'd say you got a ahead start on all of us deviants. Cheers.

I will have one, two TOPS if I'm driving, and I like to wait a while even so, normally I stick to the one hour per drink ground rule. And on this note...

I have a radio shack breathalyzer...I still check before just in case the I get a bartender who likes to make em stronger than I think...but I never have an issue.

More often it gets used for the passengers in the car to have a contest and see who gets the higher number...on occasion pictures with respective readouts are the only memory of these contests occurring.

Let's say you had a drink, you are fine to drive. You get into an accident, where a sober driver crashed into you and killed himself. I assume you know that you can be charged with his death, just because there was alcohol in your blood, even though its not really you fault. You still wanna take chances?

And don't think of it as "its just the other guy, who crashed, i know how to drive, i'll be fine ".

I was like this before, I thought it can not happen to me. I don't think like this anymore (after 2 serious accidents, where I was a passenger).

To everyone. And I don't care what you do while you are driving as long as you don't hurt anyone else. I just feel sorry for families of dumb drivers.

Excuse me? When is it ever, no matter how long you let it "wear off", safe to drink/get high before you drive? That has nothing to do with any type of attitude. It's irresponsable and will get someone killed one day. It's got nothing to do with any attitude and everything to do with people doing dumb things, jackass.

If by hard headed, you mean I have common sense that you don't, then yes.

There's always going to be people like that anywhere you go, forums, real life, chat rooms etc. Either ignore them, or deal with it.

it's sad to we people will drive under the influence. Just last week in the Houston area some drunk guy hit a school bus then tried to drive off and killed a 13 year old girl in the process. Repeat offender and shows no sign off remorse. This guy needs to fry. It's very easy to have a buddy give you a ride and even easier to get a cab. I will not drive under the influence for sure.

If I drink at home, I will stay there but if we have to go out, the wife doesn't drink anyway so there is always a sober driver available. I walk to my local pub. It's 5 min walk. No need to drive. Anyway, I figure I used up all my lucky points for D & D when I younger and stupider . Thank the stars I never hit anyone!!

Merry Christmas all .

Your such a phukin idiot! Poor judgement= getting high and driving right after. Good judgement= "me" getting high and waiting 5 to 6 hours till its all gone and i dont feel a damn thing. So how can i wreck into someone if im completely sober.

and of course its going to be in my system, because weed doesnt leave your body for about two weeks. That doesnt mean im going to stay high for two weeks.

If by idiot, you mean smart. It doesn't matter how long you wait. The mere fact that you go to get high with the intention to drive afterwards is really reckless.

Let me try to explain this to you....slooooowly.

The fact that you plan on getting high and drive later, even when you intend to let it "wear off", is very poor judgement.

Please For Your Safety And The Safety Of Those Around You Don’t Drive Impaired!!

Survivor Guilt – I’ve lived with it from 1974 first in unhealthy ways, now in healthy ways. I was part of that great social experiment when many states reduced the drinking age to 18. When as a Sr. in H.S. many of us were 18. Needless to say we were drunk a lot! Well one evening I was to go out with two buddies. We had been drinking. I was late getting to the meeting place so they left without me. They died in a head-on collision with a semi truck and I’m alive!

That changed my young life drastically. The first few years I made poor choices. After awhile I got back on track. In the long run I have managed to find much good in this tragedy. I have kept in touch with the parents of the one boy. I believe by sharing my life with them it helped them to cope with the loss of a son.

Ironically, after retiring from the Navy I ended up as a school teacher in my old school. I share this story with students when it’s appropriate. As a teacher and a coach I always tell my students to be careful on weekends and before Homecoming and Prom. We still lose one student about every two years to a traffic fatality.

If I go to one more kid’s funeral I’m Going To Vomit!!

May You All Have Safe Travels During This Holiday Season.
