Let me try to explain this to you....slooooowly.

The fact that you plan on getting high and drive later, even when you intend to let it "wear off", is very poor judgement.
Why do are you telling me slooooowly? Are you mentally challenged?

I can tell you have some kind of problem with people that get high.

what your telling me is on the same terms of a someone drinking a beer and staying at there house for six hours and going somewhere would you still say thats poor judgement.

They should take your license away just on the fact that you get high. Drinking and driving is wrong too, but if you wait 6 hours after drinking and your sober to drive and **** happens and you crash, you might not get a blame because alcohole leaves your body, when you get high that **** stays in your body.

of course it stays in your body. it stays in your system for 3weeks to a month. so does that mean im going to stay high for 3 weeks from one hit of weed? No!

Just don’t drive Impaired!

Definition of Impaired: With something absent or lessened, either temporarily or permanently

Gentlemen don’t judge each other based on lifestyle differences.

Drugs and the choice of drugs are a lifestyle/cultural issue. Some are just more dangerous then others on the mind and body. Some are more addicting then others. Some are legal some are illegal. We all recognize the fact that smoking and drinking are harmful. Yet look at our North American culture.

Drugs legal or illegal will leave you impaired.

So will prescription and over the counter drugs.

So will the lack of sleep or over stimulation (Smoking, Beverage, Eating, Cell Phone, Music, & DVD)

Once again - Just don’t drive Impaired! So we can all travel safely – I for one am driving from central MN to east central PA and back for the Holidays with my wife and two kids.I want to make this trip safely! I don’t want to cause and accident nor do I want my family to be a victim of one.

Remember: Peace on Earth & Good Will Toward Mankind!

I'm telling you sloooooooooooooowly because it seems all the pot has eliminated a key amount of your brain cells.

Any type of impairment while driving is a danger to anyone else on the road, that includes afterwards as well. If you can't grasp that concept I hope it's only yourself you take out, not some innocent people unfortunate to be on the road at the same time.

I think you are being way too hard on Leroy. As long as he allows the effects of whatever he uses to wear off then where's the harm?

I trust that you are perfect. You have never driven when you are tired (impaired) or talking on the phone (impaired) or eating a Big Mac (impaired) or haven't waited for the windows to defog totally (impaired).

If he allows the effects to wear off before driving then he is no longer impaired. Traces of THC may remain in the body for weeks but that is not the same as the EFFECTS of the THC remaining for weeks. What he is proposing is no worse than driving the morning after with a hangover.

Furthermore...the effect pot has on driving is radically different from that of alcohol. Alcohol gives a sense of well being and invincibility. Drivers tend to be more aggressive and take more risks while at the same time exercising poor judgment. Pot tends to impair spacial judgment but does not typically result in aggressive behaviors. Those high on pot actually tend to drive slower because they have the sense that they are going faster than they actually are. I'm not saying that it is ok to drive while high on pot, cuz it isn't, but there is ample research which demonstrates that alcohol is by far the greater evil.

The key is to allow ample time for whatever you choose to wear off before getting behind the wheel.

but if your not stupid and DO have common sense then it doesn't make it any worse either!!!

but drinking and driving has changed my life...here's the story...At 17 i wasn't into nissan ( yes i used to be a ricer ) and got two dui's before i turned 18 but they got dropped to M.I.P (minor in possesion). Even tho i blew a .03 and a .04 (half a beer) I relized after giving my lawyer $6000 and shi**y goverment fee's here and there...it wasn't fair to my car. So to all the youngin's if you read this please don't drink and drive and don't be peer-presured!!! happy holiday's and drive safe

Even if most of the time I am against Red Devil's comments, now he has a point and I am 100% with him.

Let's remember the spirit of the original question. I will not be drinking this holiday season. Although I agree with the general idea of letting it wear off, I always found that 1 or 2 was never enough and then I could not handle the day after. My weekends are filled with transporting the kiddos all over G's creation so no time for a hangover. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year!

Leroy............ we need people like you to keep the discussion alive!

Thanks everyone for your input.

My 2 cents on drugs and driving..........it's a big issue but at this time, it's not as recognized as driving under the influence of alcohol. All I have to say is do you remember about 20 years ago, if you got nailed for drinking and driving, they would tell you to take the back roads home....or get you home another way...... It's now drug time where people don't realize the effects of drugs and driving. It will come sooner then later just like the laws and better testing for drinking and driving.

The main problem with getting high and driving is that you never know what you are smoking until it kicks in.......I read this in a book.. lol

Thanks again everyone and have a safe and happy holiday!

Hell I pick up my mom when she goes drinking with her friends, my house has a strict no drink-n-drive rule... having one alcoholic in the family is enough.

I like how everyone is hating on leroy for smoking some reefer when I've been rushed by a driver who was under the influence of meth. his reasoning? I was "pacing him suspiciously"

At least I can spot a pothead or drunk driver on the road.. this guy came at me while I was changing my cd at a stop light

Smoke one for me Leroy
