I'm telling you sloooooooooooooowly because it seems all the pot has eliminated a key amount of your brain cells.
Any type of impairment while driving is a danger to anyone else on the road, that includes afterwards as well. If you can't grasp that concept I hope it's only yourself you take out, not some innocent people unfortunate to be on the road at the same time.
I think you are being way too hard on Leroy. As long as he allows the effects of whatever he uses to wear off then where's the harm?
I trust that you are perfect. You have never driven when you are tired (impaired) or talking on the phone (impaired) or eating a Big Mac (impaired) or haven't waited for the windows to defog totally (impaired).
If he allows the effects to wear off before driving then he is no longer impaired. Traces of THC may remain in the body for weeks but that is not the same as the EFFECTS of the THC remaining for weeks. What he is proposing is no worse than driving the morning after with a hangover.
Furthermore...the effect pot has on driving is radically different from that of alcohol. Alcohol gives a sense of well being and invincibility. Drivers tend to be more aggressive and take more risks while at the same time exercising poor judgment. Pot tends to impair spacial judgment but does not typically result in aggressive behaviors. Those high on pot actually tend to drive slower because they have the sense that they are going faster than they actually are. I'm not saying that it is ok to drive while high on pot, cuz it isn't, but there is ample research which demonstrates that alcohol is by far the greater evil.
The key is to allow ample time for whatever you choose to wear off before getting behind the wheel.
