if nissan wanted my KA to succeed by way of oil changes, they wouldn't have put the filter in that god-awful position.

seriously, what the fck?

whaaa! go pull the filter off a 7M Supra and then we can talk. It's under the ****ing turbo! Toyota easily takes the title of "most consistently jacked up filter placement".

all bs why would they change their filters every 20 miles? if u see a fram filter on a d1 car dosent mean that they are garbage..
Ummm it's not 'BS'. I've talked to guys that did exactly that. The exact idea was this... they didn't even have the oil in the car long enough for it to get really dirty so the filter was not as important.

The simple response based on standard etiquette is no. However, this is an internet forum and you're a mod so doo eet!

I'd get a K&N oil filter if the autozone near me ever had them in stock, they have every other one but the one I need, same with the K&N air filter.

LMAO!@#!@

I hit that link and wouldn't you know it my boss and coworkers come into my office saying wtf!?

Damn CPU volume(no speakers) was all the way up! They were crackin up watchin me chase that window across the screen and hit ok a million times!

Ohhh...anyways, back to topic

My SOHC has been running with a blown headgasket for the last two years with the same oil filter(wix). Still gets me to work and back EVERY day.

Just goes to show it takes more than some crappy oil filter(nothing against fram) to **** up a KA...

I've sold Fram filters for atleast a year and a half when I worked at O'Reilly's Auto Parts. Never had a single one come back because of malfunction.

I don't think it's ugly. I'd have chosen a different color scheme, but then again you're not me (I take it that it's your car?). I just wouldn't put a FRAM filter on a motor that has had so much $$ put into it. If it is your car, do you have some more pics?

lol @ the intro. It caught me off guard at work too. The same filter for 2 years!? you're a braver man than me. I still don't care for FRAM and I won't use them again (unless in the future they improve their product). That's me though.

I've had to jam a screwdriver into a wix filter to get it to budge before...and it really looks as though that fram has been penetrated by something as well.

One side could say that's a testament to the sealing abilities of the fram filter. Another side could say it's proof of failure in design efficiency.

I generally use a "higher quality" filter over fram, but there's definitely a market for them. And I don't think 8000 HP worth of oil flow is anything to scoff at... Top Fuel dragsters drink 12 gallons of nitromethane in ONE run. I wonder what the difference in heat energy per unit of volume is between nitromethane and nascar's required race gas...0-100 in .8 of a second, think about THAT in terms of load when the circle track guy is cruisin around, his engine never quite making more manifold pressure than ambient, all the fluid temps in their sweet spot...

But anyways, I'm just ranting now... And I really don't even know if they do use fram filters on top fuel dragsters...lol! Damnit I'm going to sleep..
