I also used to play trumpet, so I can read music, but I only buy music that has TABs for geetar. I mainly finger-pick chords on my acoustic. Every once in a while I'll try some solo crap on my electric. My kids are MUCH better than me!!!! But, I enjoy pick'n. only started about 4 years ago. Wish I had started younger, but what you gonna do. better late than never.

lol...3 days ago I saw a Camry with stock wheels...but it was raised hella high to look like a 4x4...or to simulate 24 inch riiiiiiiimz. Damn I hate the south sometimes. If its not ricers and just plain stupidity. Its Minivans with hubcap spinnaz and duel exhaust

forget about learning how to read music to play guitar.. the best way is to learn a few chords.. then get good and switching between them.. then from there you can make your own chords.

It's exactly like mixing the two (best of both worlds) - Nissan doesn't make a Skyline badged as so for the US market either.

I'm one of the ones who wouldn't put a Nissan badge on my car but I would certainly throw on the Skyline letters.

The Skyline name sounds cool, but I wouldnt Nissan up my Infiniti. Also, I kinda like the way the G doesnt have a "name" just has the "G35" tag in the corner. That being said. I do like the JMD grills better than the Infiniti stock grill. I actually saw a coupe with the JMD grill and an Infinity badge in the center of it. Looked like a personal mod, but looked OK. Oh, Ive also seen a G35 coupe with 350z wheels recently. People just want to be different and share with others their idea of style. The only mods Ive done are clear corners, switched to projectors, Injen intake, and the factory aero package. Nothing too flashy but I still get cops riding me every other week as it is. I topped at 142mph with Z06 that toasted me going at least 160, but thats another story .

Bull shlt... They would never do a thing like that... haha.

And I agree, this emblem mod is just plain ricey. if you're going to do it do it right. replace everything. and the steering wheels need to be in the correct location... otherwise, its rice.

People do it because they want their car to say "Skyline"... But cmon, the G35 is the weakest car in the skyline family..

I'm actually going to keep the Infiniti badges on my G Coupe.

But I have my rear tag wrapped in a brushed aluminum Z frame, all that's left of my recently departed 350Z...

I have to admit I've thought about changing myself, never have though, torn between the two.

About the weakest statement...that may very well be true. I think I've heard stock out of the box those skylines pushing some impressive numbers to all 4 tires. Also true the G35 Coupe is not an all wheel drive like the true legendary skylines (BTW I mention coupe because infinity designed it more performance minded than the sedan). However the G35 is an impressively handling car in it's own right. I've never driven an all wheel drive skyline but I've certainly put the G through its paces and at least in the US it can hang with the best of them in the twisties. With a little tweaking and performance upgrades it's also not so "weak" anymore. Besides people can much easier afford the G35/Skyline 350GT than they can even an older all wheel drive skyline and have it imported or wait for the new one comming out here in the US and spend between $60-70K.

Don't get me wrong if I were filthy rich I'd buy that new skyline just to have it, but I'm not and I don't feel jipped for lack of money, I feel blessed to have such an awesome car so little money respectively speaking.

Just my 2 cents

Completely untrue. Your thinking about riced up, blown Skylines that make it to the states. All base model, stock, 1990's generation Skylines all made HP ratings below or equal to the V35. Sure, there were 'beefier' GTR racing and limited runs (GT-R V-Spec II using the RB26DETT to name but a few) but the V35 easily holds it own in the stable. I think the biggest complaint from most Skyline enthus is the departure from the RB series of engines. My biggest complaint is I wish Nissan had done a few limited version's of the 350GT.

Skylines are found a dime a dozen in Japan and AU, some go for as little as $10k and alot are not really anything special, you just gotta look at it differently. The G35 is no less of a Skyline then any of the other previous generations.

Except your SKYLINE lettering is too close together and its off centre (judging by the pics).

Thats why re-badging sucks!

Ok, sorry to bump an old thread, but I came across this while searching for places to buy badges, and I have something to add. If I were to rebadge my G35, it wouldn't be because I want a "JDM" look or because I want attention. It would be because, frankly, I feel like driving an Infiniti doesn't suit me. I'm 21 years old, and I have the most expensive car among my friends. I bought the car because it has everything I wanted in a car: style, handling, RWD, comfort. I didn't buy it because of the luxury appeal, and the last thing I want to do is to convey the sense that I'm some rich trust fund brat or whatever. So, I'd consider badging it as a Nissan, because people would look at it and not give it much attention. Then again, I probably wouldn't badge it as a "Skyline"---just the GT350 and the Nissan emblems. Really though I'll probably just debadge it.

ive got mine almost completely rebadged minus the clock, steering wheel and stictching of the seats, not so worried about the clock as id like to put a gauge there here soon, and the seats not so worried as id like to get my interior done in black (work in progress) so all i really need is the airbag section of the steering wheel.... anyone know where i can get one... if its possible. and the rebadging debadging is just a matter of prefrence, some like it some dont, ive always loved the skylines and having the closest thing in the US to a production one i love it

The Skyline GT-R was a AWD twin turbo beast. The G35 is not. Re-badging the G35 to a skyline is a shame....

Yes, the G35 is actually a skyline over in Japan but who cares. We're in the USA motherfukers.

My friends and I were crusing one night when a re-badge G35 drove by us. Guess what some of the guys were doing then they saw the badge?

They pointed and laugh, and said "fake skyline, hahaha" etc etc... I didn't really feel like saying "well, it's actually a skyline over in Japan"...

But hey, the name "skyline" when they think of it is the R34, AWD TT beast..

The G35, again is not...

We aren't all in the US....

Its stupid to debate this, but there are 'other' Skylines other than those 'AWD R34 beasts' that you speak of. Mellow, low spec versions that essentially look the same that don't make it out of Japan (people don't import them because people don't want them). They are a dime a dozen in my country, they are everywhere, and can be picked up for less then $15k. The G outspecs these in most areas.

I think people are too harsh on the G. If it was released as a Skyline in the US as well then we wouldn't be having this conversation, thats what its called in its country of origin so thats what it is. You guys have the rebadged version, not us.

Who cares what its called, its a great car and thats all that matters.

Our G is debadge and we even replaced the steering wheel cover with a Nissan one from Japan. We even replace the door sill with Skyline on it. Next time you open your door. Look at your build sticker on the jam. It says Nissan not Infiniti. I was stationed in Japan for 8 1/2 years and when I was there everything there was Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Mazda. No Acura,Infiniti,Lexus. Here are pics of our Debadged G with new Volk Racing SF Challenge wheels.

I'm getting that grill. A silverado backed into my g35 and raped my grill. I coulden't find a stock grill on the internet and i know the infiniti dealer would rape my wallet. I probly would never have changed the grill if the truck dident hit me. I was always focused on power, looks were second to me. I should have gotten a 350z, i'm just too hard on my g....I don't need a luxary car.

JDM seats do not have lettering.
