yes, to some its a waste of $$$$to others an investment to thier persuit of happiness.... To each his own! CHEERS!
Whatever floats in your boat, money floats in mine. Not to say I have no enthusiasm for my car and working on my car, but I am careful to look at it as a material item, not a priceless one, in the end. Dumping ungodly amounts of money into your car will leave you poor (or less successful than you couldve been), but hey, at least you got your car. Your depreciating, maintenance hungry, insurance eating car. Just getting real, kids.

I heartily agree. I was raised with home cooked italian food.. no one seems to understand that Olive Garden simply doesnt cut it.

That post is going in my Quotes text file.

I KNEW IT!!! I knew i seen your car somewhere like..alot I just couldn't put my finger on it. All last year my boys and I from college would go up to Denny's and eat like at 10am and I seen your car there once. Then after a while, I just kept seen your car there constantly. Then I thought hmmm...one of two things is up with this guy one he loves Denny's or two he works there. Do you still work there and what highschool did you go to?

We get new guys in our group all the time. They are young and read the mags and want to drop a RB in their car.

They laugh when I tell them I have no SR.

But if they hang out and we get to talking with them they end up doing some really cool stuff.

I was all but knocked over by the job Anthony (17) did on a custom headlight cover. Looks like the C-West. He just started working in a body shop and he is doing great. All he wants are suspension mods and to get to e-town for the next event.

I know we all have wanted or want some off the wall stuff at one time or another. Shoot I am trying for a SR this winter. I think it is almost time for it.

Take the dudes that are all happy about S15 fronts and get them to just have fun driving the car.

I get loads of guys that buy s13s that don't run and they swear they need a SR. I just get scared because I know they will kill themselves.

I am surprised daily by what a younger auto fanatic can do if pointed in the right direction.

***** this sh*t people. I love both the KA-T and the SR20. They are both incredibly great engines. I freaking hate it when the Sr20 guys get on the asses of the KA guys about being a truck engine and then the KA guys get on the SR20 guys about being JDM conformist whores. Both motors are good. I was considering to go both KA-T or SR20. In fact, one day I will own one of each. The only reason I went SR20 was because at the time I didn't have the time to go around and get a motor rebuilt + finding all the turbo parts. But I did have the money to just grab a clip. So it really just came down to a toss of the coin and that I had no time to do the KA-T.

2 and 1/2 years? Wow, you've got high ambitions, I've been working on this project since 9th grade and just got my SR240 about 2 months ago. Good luck man.

When I was a newbie car kid, I knew nothing. At first I had an MR2, then it got wrecked then I spent the insurance money on the SR240. Still not exactly done with the car yet. Running 10 psi and eating hondas/camaros/mustangs and what have you for lunch, dinner, breakfast, midnight snack, etc. All I want is a sexy sexy stock bodied 240sx with MAYBE a lip, with a slightly upgraded interior kick MAJOR *** on the street and the tracks (both drag and Auto-x). Of course I am the MMMMAAAJJOOOORRR minority. And I'm 17 also.

You'll have to cut a bit of the front bumper out for it to clear afaik. oh and you'll have to lose the bumper support. Teh search button is j00r friend.

im 17 as well.

it took me 14 months, hours and hours and hours of thought and research, and days and days of work to turbo my 97 celica.

as for the 240, i now know all i need to know to turbo it relatively easy but im gonna wait a while on that one.

when i got my first car, my celica, i knew nothing about it and nothing about modding cars, i knew how they worked, and how to maintain them but nothing about modding cars.

right off the bat, what i first heard about was the toyota 3sgte and i wanted one. $1500 got the engine in a front clip, $500 for a transmission, $500 for misc. stuff, and i could do the labor.

but, while i was saving up money, i realised, the more and more i thought it over, the harder an engine swap got to be. emmissions crap, possible problems, etc.

so i went the turbo route, and after a year of sourcing parts, i have a working setup that cost me $1500-$1600. good stuff, nothing beats boost, except for maybe if i had done it to the 240.

my point is, people get excited when they get a car. its symbolizes freedom and you can make the car how you want it. some people learn and sorta grow out of it, some dont.

I may be new to the 240 scene, but I know what it takes to modify cars. I'm 18 and on my second Nissan. I put over $5000 in my altima (see sign) and have plans for the 240. Suspension upgrades, CA18 , exhaust, and thats about it. I'm done with body mods, I got all that out of me with my altima.

Im 17 and ive got a decent paying job for my age($10.00/hr) at a goverment run faciltiy where i work in the kitchen, and i work all the time, when im not in school im workin for the most part, and when i was lookin for cars when i got my licence i wanted a Gsr, which there was none of where i live(good ole WV) but by the time i got the money there was about 4 modded ones here in town, so i wanted somthing diffrent, and i heard somewhere that old 240s were cheap and i looked into them and sure enuf they were, but they have flip up headlights which i hate so i was lookin at the S14 swap but the lights didnt look wide enuf for me, then i saw the S15 headlights(which are the sexiest lookin headlights ive ever seen imo) and i saved for those and a month or 2 after i got the conversion a freind of mine blew my enigine and i it seemed to me it was alot cheaper to turbo my car by buying the sr20det, now since thats all done i need the 180sx tails....which i cant find under $600, which is crazy for tails

im 19, and i've done everything from bodywork to turbo installs on civics, i used to have a 00 civic si (with a t03-t04 hybrid) that hung with a porsche carrera turbo, but because of some bad luck and divine intervention, im no longer involved with hondas.

i now have an S14 with an SR20 that i installed myself, complete body makeover, including brand new paint job, also performed by me, and too many other mods to name (check my "just saying hello" topic for a full list), cars are my world, i make custom parts whenever needed, its amazing what the "little ricer kids" can do if they have the guidence and resources, so instead of making fun of them (which is WAY too easy), i say help giude them in the right direction, it'll make the streets you drive alot safer and much less annoying.

Wow.
Kid probably got confused with Honda Integras. All ITR's had VTEC and 5-lug wheels, while all LS Integras had no VTEC and 4-lug wheels. GSR had the VTEC and the 4lug. But yeah, if it was a 5-lug Integra, it's probably a VTEC Integra. Kid probably just got his cars confused. When I was younger, I didnt care much for cars and they all looked the same to me.

Why would you need extra KA's if the KA is so great sounds like you are the one that is blowing engines. BTW a motor is an electrical device (starter) an engine is the thingy that the motor starts.

in any case can't we all just get along? SR, KA doesn't matter to me which you have as long as you gots boost

My point exactly. Me loves the KA-T and the SR20 and the 3sgte. My favorite 4-banger turbo engines that rape just about everything out there on the streets. Mmmmhmm...
