Why do mustangs hate us?

I came acrossed a couple threads (doing a google search) on a couple Mustang forums and it seems they trash talk the 350z a lot! Why is that?

My opinion is, they don't like Z's because - i am 5-0 against GT's this year alone. Everyone i ran into i either had a close race and got about 1.5 cars. Or just totally embarrassed them with bus lengths. DOHC 3.5 FTW = 5 .... SOHC 4.6 owned = goose egg...... Maybe some C-5s and Z28's and some Trans Ams with the nitrous! For the record i don't dislike mustangs... i own a 99 GT my self

IMO the people that hate our Z's are the mustang people who in high school made D's and did not learn anything outside of dah and dude. Not every Mustang owner but most dont have the taste in good design that a 350 Z owner does. Thats why there is no luxury end to the Mustang the way Nissan and Infiniti did it. Sometimes I feel sorry for them. I have smoked (2) 4.6 liters and (1) 5.0 cause he missed his second gear and I busted his corn hole wide open. He was mad. And of course just for you race junkies any Mustang pre 04 5 liter or smaller, stock, that is you will beat.

except the cobra.... don't think a stock Z can beat a cobra. Same displacement but a completely different motor at the same time. DOHC is the main thing that makes them what they are, but they are something special - hand made. Thats the non supercharged ones..... the SC will def. blow us away - but with N2O i dunno! we will see!

I see your point but a Cobra is not a stock Mustang. If that is the case I just throw in a GT-R as my hopped up Z. Had Nissan offered a TT like the Z32 had I could see about 400hp and blowin all kind of stuff off the road. I would have bought it I guarantee you that. I am thinking of getting the GT-R but in a year after the kinks are worked out.

Thare is no comparison between mustangs and z's, american vs. japanese enginering, dont make me laugh. The mustang may be able to keep up with the z... until the first turn. no way in hell can that sold rear axle even come close to the IRS offered on the z. plus, i've worked mustangs and they are not pretty,to start, the diff cover is a piece of sheet metal and the rear springs look like they are going to fall out. o, and nice fake vents on the side of that mustang, those add atleast another 40 horses to the wheels, right?. dont get me started, I think they are just mad cuz they know we have a better car!

I own a z as well, and its not the best car, just better than mustang in my opinion.

Dont get me wrong though, its really all a matter of preference. It all depends on what you want to use it for. The z was not designed for a drag stip! If i wanted to drag or race in a straight line i would choose the mustang over the z any day. But thats not my type of driving. If its yours than you should own a mustang

So the Z would be the Japanese manufactured - American icon car?

Well coming from a guy that had a 500hp 98 cobra. i had a full road race suspension on the car and ran it to the best of 11.00et and i must say that indeed the mustang was faster but the Z handles like a dream. Im gonna pick up another Z in the next few monthes so i can accually build a fast car out of it (twin turbos perhaps) i woudl like a 600hp Z and i doubt most cars will be able to touch me

mustangs dont like z's because the gt is 5.0 v8 right and the z is 3.5 v6 and people think bigger is better and they see a tiny v6 destroy a huge v8 they then get defensive and say somthin like a bad somthin or another remember size dont always matter its how u use it look at sti's and evos 2.5 and 2.0 making 300hp stock ad they can be built to like 900hp

stock means from the factory and I belive you can buy a cobra from the dealership there for it is a stock car that you cant beat and the gtr is not a "hopped up Z " not even close. what kinks in the gtr ? there might be one on the streets in your state.

black08, well being you were so quick to point out all my errors. When I buy the GT-R which is NOT a hopped up Z and can be bought at the dealership. I will make sure I find the nearest "Cobra" and the only thing that poor Cobra will do is eat the back end of my tail pipes. And yes my Z wont beat the Cobra but my GT-R will . Thanks for for pushing me over the edge to buy something faster than a factory mustang. Oh and actually your wrong about one GT-R in our state there are 6 on order that my nissan dealership verified.. Get your research straight before you get happy.

Oh I swung by the Ford dealership on my way home and asked those knuckleheads the same question. What is a stock mustang and I was told by THEM that it is the base model mustang. I said well what about the GT, Cobra, Shelby GT, etc. And THEIR response was Those are optioned engine and accessories cars. Now if this piece of poetry is true then lets go back to the question at hand. A stock base model Z and a mustang stock base model. I dont have to tell you the ending but thanks for keeping me on my toes.

I knew more about my G35 and which options came on which years than the sales manager at Infiniti of Montclair. Does that make me an Infiniti Engineer?

First off you are mistaken some forum fun for something else.

Second I never said they were experts on cars. But that is who they sign their name with when they buy the mustang, right?

Salesmen are plugs and bullsh!t{rs, anyway I knew they did not know much when I walked up and they asked me if I was picking someone up in my Z. We talked more about my car than the silly old mustang. That was funny.

I love uninformed sales people. I was fortunate enough to get a really well informed one at the local Infiniti Dealership. Younger guy who owned a G35 and had a wealth of knowledge about the cars.

Overall Infiniti of Riverside has world class service (minus the 1 annoying sales lady)
