You know i almost wonder if there is a riced out forum, like where the people that do this stupid stuff to their cars get together and share bad ideas. LOL

Joke, haha, heehee. When my G's weight reduction is done, we'll see.

As for the mustangs, keep them in their place. I'll keep working on the M3s and M5s.

what you taking out and what you putting in. I am thinking of a supercharger (done professionally) and maybe some other lil goodies but not sure I want to spend the money or wait when I buy my next car in end of 09. I bought this car on the spur of the moment and I was really waiting for something else but I will see next year. Take pics after you do your install

I'm going to be tearing apart the doors to see what's necessary and what's not.

Front seats are likely being swapped out. Clutch and flywheel will lose about 15 lbs from stock.Back seat might get redoneMats are coming outI was thinking about CFing alot of the interior, then painting it lol.Lightweight pulleysPossibly an aftermarket plenum (weight and heat)Wheels will probably stay the same (even though they're ugly) as I can't find lighter 19s.I'm thinking about CFing the hood, trunk and doors (the last one is iffy and a PITA to do).

rmezz,

Spray is for cheaters!!! lol

Carbon Fiber always FTW.... If i ever get the money CF everything - fenders, doors, hood, hatch..... Then paint it all.

Spray is only cheating if you deny it.

If you could spend $700 for 100 hp, would you? $7 per hp..... ZEX wet kit for 350z is $695 and has 100hp jets....

I have some of the materials already, but I need a compressor an gravity fed sprayer for the gel coat and release film.

Zex's kits are crap IMHO. They claim your car can handle a 100HP shot... LOL. I wouldn't risk my pistons on that. That's about 25HP more than the maximum of what most (including myself) consider safe, and 75 is pushing it's limits on "safe".

They also fail to mention, that you will be missing some key components. Window switch & bottle heater. The window switch keeps the nitrous spraying while only in a certain RPM range. The bottle heater keeps the N2O at a consistant temp, and more consistant pressure.

N2O is something that will probably go in the G35 someday. but to do it as I consider right, it'll cost me about $1200.

You would have to reduce a little more weight than that I do believe. The Z is a little more than 400lbs lighter.

Also remember, the Z has a lower final drive gear (in the differential), stock. So although at the crank the cars may both have the same HP, at the tires the Z will put it to use more effectively. I know that it's not much of a difference in the FD gear, but a little is actually a lot when it comes to gearing.

2005 6mt coupe: 3512lbs2007 350z 6mt Grand Touring:3404lbs

Weight difference not including my fat a$$: 108lbs

So dropping 150 or so lbs could make things more interesting.

Got a bottle heater, and don't need a window switch as long as i can remember to not WOT below 2500 revs.

Also, for the 100hp - you are required to ease into, running 55 shot for awhile, then retard the timing 2 degrees and run 75 for awhile, then retard the timing 2 more degrees (4 total retard) and up it to 100. It is a lot of power but i will test it out one day. And don't worry beaner, i take your opinion extremely serious and will look further into it before upping the power and having you say "told ya so".... LOL

Easing into it won't make a difference, since N2O isn't used all the time. It's not like adjusting your boost controller up by a few PSI at a time.

Also, for less than $100. a window switch is well woryh the money. It will keep you from spraying at too low an RPM, and it will keep you from spraying through or into your shift. You want it to cut off a fraction of a second before you would start shifting. You hit the clutch, while any excess N2O/fuel is being burned, and there will be ill effects.

Spending an additional $200 or so on a wideband (A/F ratio meter) is well worth the money also. If you start to lean out from too much nitrous, you will see it on the gauge, and can disarm the system.

Curious as to how you plan to retard the timing? Not saying it can't be done, because it can, but it's not as easy as twisting a distributor cap. Also, you can adjust baseline timing with Consult II, but that's just baseline. It won't adjust the timing under WOT condition.

Not trying to be a "Debbie Downer", but I know about N2O. I don't want to see you break something.

Hey "Admin" see my post above ^^^. Where did you get that 400lb weight difference nonsense?

Are you trying to say I weigh 500lbs and that's were the difference lies?

Debie Downer - LOL

So you think 75 shot would be ok? I really only plan to run 55 shot, thats enough tea in my cup, plus safety is a huge issue with me. I can't afford to blow a motor.

I was just stating that the kit states, and a guy i was e-mailing from ZEX was saying that the 100 shot is possible for the 350z kit.

I think 18s are the way to go on the Zs. 19s on the Gs unless it's dropped.

The 17s look comical on either.

+11111111111111111.......

The sound of mustangs are magnificent, in that they are unique, but they don't have the nasty super car sound our Z's and G's have with minor exhaust mods. Sounds like a race car, like a nasty, dirty track car.

Mustangs sound good but they are all noise, not enough performance....

Ford is failing. The only thing they have is the cobra which now is even handled by an after market company before its sold (SVT), the GT = they could do better (or could they?)........

Not considering the GT40, which is euro engineered and tuned, not really a ford - like the viper is not really a dodge = lambo

Yes the Ford GT40 is euro engineered and tuned, that you can find all over the net, but I did not know about the dodge + lambo, although Chrysler is part of Lamborghini, they dont develop anything on the Viper as far as I know. Somebody send that info, if that is the case the only true sports car made in the good ole USA willl be the Vette.

when dodge wanted something nasty (the viper) they hooked up with lamborghini for the car..... i can't believe no one knows this!!!! i knew that when i was like 10 and bought a poster of a viper for my room.

They may be "dodge" now, because i am sure over the years dodge may have a group of engineers that are making the vipers but it was originally a dodge/lambo project.

similar shields? nothing like anything dodge or chrysler have.....

Ok did some digging and I see what your saying but I dont thing the Viper will ever be crafted the way the lambo has evolved. I found this link read toward the bottom under Post Chrysler blah blah blah: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lamborghini
