I just look at it as there are many different types of VIP. Im not sure what yours would be but it's deffinatly considered one of them.

And that is INDEED the way it ACTUALLY is. But to some people, if it doesn't look exactly like X, then it's "not at all". I'm sorry, but there are many ways to achieve a look, not only ONE.

Can we lock Falker and 'G50' in a cage and have them fight to the death?

Anyway, I went back to the top and actually read the thread. Nice wheels and nice rides! I especially liked the Porsches. Almost brought a tear to my eye. It was perfection.

I liked the wheels on the Porches too. In fact, they were the only ones I liked...wouldnt buy them though because they'd be a bi*ch to clean and I'm lazy. Yes, I'd actually buy a rim based on amount of work involved in cleaning it. That's actually priority.

His post was pretty informative cause I never though about the lip strength until reading it (jeez... I hope no one reads this the wrong way)...makes sense though since I tend to kiss the curb more than a wino at bedtime. I tend to parallel park NYC style where you back in till you feel your tire touch the curb then move forward and so forth. Curb rash sets in real fast tho...bad habit and I know better but a habit nevertheless. The real NYC way is to back in till your back bumper hits the person behind you but only do it after making sure no one else is in the car cuz you might get shot. I miss the days of rubber bumpers....

Judging by the posts... I'd say both these guys are maniacal insomniacs.

Oh shhh? Look at the time. I'm at work and it's time to go!

...Drew....

^ That's why I like a little extra tire on my rims.

As far as categorizing cars, I certainly don't refer to my droptop as "drift style" even though I have all the "requisite" footwork, suspension and bodykit.

Matter of fact, I'd never use a cliche'd phrase to identify any of my cars - I'd prefer they stand on their own merits and let people interpret the style however they want.

That's true and a very good point. My point is that 90% of the direction I've taken with my cars styling has been inspired by cars in the VIP and EXE magazines, and at least to my eyes, it follows that form.

Makes sense.

NOW - Let's knock off the bickering.

It's bad enough we supposedly drive "old lady" cars, let's not be accused of arguing like a bunch of them.

p.s. Kev, can you get my Q in the mag? My chrome rainvisors are straight-up JDM, the only ones in the U.S.

Oh man that was cool until you used the word "footwork". Now I think you're surely a "mad tyte drifter"..

As for this thread, cool wheels are in the eye of the beholder and I'm glad to see people thinking outside the box. If you like 'em, good for you.

Just don't call them "footwork". The sight of bad "japlish" makes me cringe. Kind of like calling spherical bearings "pillow balls". UGGHH!

Just cause you have a set of WORK's don't mean jack. It's the complete package, I still want a front lip - after I move to a place that doesn't already scrape the stock lip, exhaust and DVD system. After that, there is nothing more for me to do to this car but keep it as pristine as it is.
Then again, I never claimed my car to be VIP did I? Unlike you who relentlessly defends how vip your car is.

The difference between your car and those are the wheels.

That's really all your car needs... I'm sorry but TSW's are cheap junk. NOT VIP. And since you are determined to let magazines define you and your car have you EVER seen a car in that huge stack of magazines you worship with with TSW wheels? Hmmmmmmmm............

All of those cars have very nice wheels on them. Wheels make or break a car... in your car they are completely breaking the VIP style you want so badly to immitate.

What I find funny is how you will whine and cry how VIP styled your car is and then you claim that you shouldn't define your car by one "style" so which is it?

TSW is not "junk", they have a VERY solid Motorsports history, and make a quality product. My wheels retail at over $400 each, hardly "junk" pricing.

If you think wheels DEFINE VIP, you're an idiot. According to your logic, any car can be VIP as long as it's got a certain set of wheels. Sorry, but you're wrong.

With that, could you please try to stay on topic? It seems your purpose in life has become to f#ck with me, could you just get over it? You're not here to "educate" the world, or whatever it is you think you're doing.

HAHAHAHA that's like saying those 20" cast crap wheels that people pay $3,000 are not junk quality. So you tink just because something is expensive it's nice!? WOW. I've got some really really nice steel wheels i'll sell you for $4,000!!! They are super nice, i mean they cost $4k!!!

Wheels don't define it, but then again, they help a lot.

Get over what? I was just pointing out your double standards... and I thought it was humerous. Funny how defensive you get about it. Still have that inferioirty complex eh?

btw- this is on topic ... this thread is about wheels.

For me, it's the fact that they have a solid Motorsports history, which they do. I remember lusting after the TSW EVO in the mid 90's. Cheap wheels don't cut it in Motorsport and to me, $400 a wheel for 19's isn't cheap, it's just a little less than I could have gotten WORK's for, but I didn't want what everyone else has.

I'm sure this was waaay before your time but these were THE shlt:

After this, I just give up. Whatever you say, you're right.

So you're telling me you paid $400/wheel for some cast one piece wheels.

And you COULD have gotten some works (forged 2/3 piece) wheels for a little more but decided you wanted crappy cast 1 piece wheels instead because "everyone else" has works? I garentee more people have TSW's than Works... lol NICE justification though.. makes COMPLETE sence.

Yep, you're right.

You think cast wheels are bad? Tell that to ATS, the pioneer of low-pressure cast alloys, the NUMBER ONE wheel of choice in the DTM race series, the spec wheel in the F3000 series, the spec wheel in the British V8 Super car series. OE supplier to Porsche, Audi, BMW, Benz, and the OE hollow-spoke wheel on the 911 turbo. Yeah, cause cast wheels suck.

Here's a classic wheel that I LOVE:

I was talking to my rep at American Tire Distributors and he said he gets way more warranty returns on the 2-3 piece rims than he does with the cast one piece rims and even the cheapie wheels. There are more things to go wrong with them.

Not looking for a debate, just FYI from a wheel distributor.

And as far as spending $3000+ for a set of rims/tires some of us have responsibilities, families, and mortgages and don't feel the need to blow that much on rims when you can make your car look nice for $1000 or less sometimes. I'm not planning on entering any shows with my Q, just wanna look nice rolling down the road. Still shopping for the right wheel for me and my humble wheel budget.

And those TSW's Falk...very nice.

Maybe if we quit responding to G50 Q he'll go away. He doesn't have anything good to say about anything or anyone here anyway it seems.

My final comment on this (for now ).

G50 Q, I know this will make your head explode with confusion, but you see the little sticker on the front bumper and behind the wheel that says ATS Lichtmetalroder? Well, ATS is the wheel brand, and guess what, they're CAST ALLOY. Not forged, not 2 piece, not 3 piece, ONE PIECE CAST ALLOY. On what is arguably the highest level of "stock" car racing on EARTH.

Yes, that look very much like a VIP car too doesn't it?

Not to mention ATS is a far cry from TSW.

Stop trying to justify yourself... your just making yourself look desperate to fit in.

It's nothing to do with VIP jack, it's that CAST WHEELS does not equal junk. That's the point, which apparently went right over your head.

And I'd be willing to bet you'd never heard of ATS wheels until today. Not particularly well known in the U.S.

And a note about the "junk" TSW brand:

Quote »TSW wheels are born of a rich racing heritage. Founded by a former Formula One racing driver, TSW has been involved in motor racing around the globe for over 30 years. Such involvement has ranged from the 24hours of Le Mans to Touring Cars[/quote]That spells quality to me.

The Mercedes AMG "Hammer" was my earliest 4 door love.

And probably one of my all time favorite classic wheels, the Panasport. I had 13x7 and 13x8's on my 1st gen ITS RX-7, it was just so fitting with the cars style and time frame.

theres a german (or maybe french) comapny called smoor that makes 1 piece knock off of the OG Panasport
