What were those access ports for????? I have always wondered?????Q451990 wrote:Q1 was: 3156Q2 is: 7356
The only difference I could ever see between the two (other than the CA emissions vs. the federal) was that Q1's rocker covers did not have the weird access port on the side that no one ever uses - the ones with the torx head screws.

Yes. You're somewhere on the far end of the bell curve on this one.elwesso wrote:Does it make me a dork that both of my Q VIN numbers I have memorized.
The grandad of them all! So far at least. We're interested in the build date also (and Wes and Paul).carfrk666 wrote:90 Q45 .......000735
How does the 93Q have a higher VIN # than my 94Q (251689)? Different plants? What the 93's build date?elwesso wrote:1st Q45.. 269967 (late 94 model)Current... 261697 (late 93 model)
I'm sworn to secrecy. I do have a pair of cleaned and polished buckles that I keep in the 94Q wrapped up ready for use. I'm just looking for the right person that will pose with them for me so I can snap a few pictures. I think I could have found the right person at last weekend's NICOfest but Atlanta's a bit far to go. I may have to go to a local car show and see if I can find an Infiniti enthusiast. Any suggestions on how the badges should be held for a memorable picture?ppastos wrote:.....Is the prize a belt buckle by the way?
I can't remember if I responded, but yes, that's dorky.elwesso wrote:Does it make me a dork that both of my Q VIN numbers I have memorized.
You did LOL but my build date is 11/92 A hybrid or so I will try and make no that I found a 91 Q45 wit the same interior/exterior colors.goody94q45 wrote:

build date on her was 9/89, that would be spiffy if she was the oldest!!goody94q45 wrote:

dude your Q looks so clean, what color is that?OZQ45 wrote:I can't have the oldest as the Q45 was only sold in Australia (through dealers) from '93.
Still, may have one of the lowest numbers - 0000028 on my May '93 build.
Guess that must throw some confusion into the numbering sequence!
If it helps, mine comes from plant M, and I have seven digits in total.
Strange. Most of the other Aussies have 89 Q's. I can recall only a couple (one?) newer models. It's not the oldest Q but unique since it's down under. Let's hear from the rest of the owners from Oz with their 89 VINs.OZQ45 wrote:I can't have the oldest as the Q45 was only sold in Australia (through dealers) from '93. Sorry, wrong contest. You're looking for the "Youngest Of All G50's" thread. So far you've got the newest and the oldest 96Q.knowspinzone wrote:OK, since I have a '95, I can't have the oldest. HOWEVER, my Q45a was built on 02/95 with a VIN of 306685. This was the last year the superb handling Q45a was built.
I may have the LAST one built!
Is there a complete VIN stamped on the block somewhere or just the 6 digit S/N? Tell us more about the pace car and the Brabham car.WizardBlack wrote:The replacement engine in my 94 is from the 92 pace car Infiniti used at MidOhio.....Serial number 000002.....The speed shop I bought it from messed about with the Brabham car, too, but I wasn't paying a lot of attention since I had never heard of it at the time.
We're starting to see a pattern to the VINs and maybe will get a couple of 91-92 owners to post. Is the 4600 USA sales or worldwide?qship96 wrote:The VIN resets to 0001 for the start of each model year....IE the first 1996 model year q45 produced had a VIN ending in 0001, the 1269th 1996 model q45 produced had a VIN ending in 1269. For 1996 model year, the total production was about 4600 q45`s
Just the standard Black Obsidian KH3, but polished at least every 3 weeks. Thanks for the comment.slybydesignq45t wrote:

Pre '93 Aussie Q's are private import instead of official dealer sold. But I agree, it's lonely here as I've only ever seen three others. One I think used to post here.goody94q45 wrote:

At this moment in time you're driving the oldest NICO Q45. Congrats. I've sent you an email asking for a picture of the VIN plate and an address to send your prize.carfrk666 wrote:90 Q45.......000735
