Just hit 173k on 06 m35 sport, changed nothing but the oem radiator and brakes of course as needed in past 73k, tune up at 100k Use nothing but full synthetic. Every 5k all electronics are original and everything still works great! Truly an amazing car! Highly recommend!

Havent hit this site in ages.
173K M35X 2006 bought new in 2005. Was going to buy a Lexus GS but no contest.
No major issues. One camshaft sensor that messed up idling/starting revs. Regularly serviced. Brake calipers just after 100K, took several visits to figure it out. Top up oil each weekend now. Car is almost unstoppable in snow with all-seasons. Generally dont rev it too hard now. Always premium gas. tried regular gas for a few weeks and felt the loss of power.

2006 M35 w 223,000 on the clock. little issues like the seat rails ( not worth 1200.00 to fix) and rattle from the door. Recently replaced a passenger side cat, but all other systems are factory original. Oil checked with Blackstone ever other change.
running synthetic blend since I bought her in 08.
Mechanically sound and will hopefully get 350K

My daughter has an 07 G35 with 160K, no issues.
3.5 engines are durable.

I would recommend.

2004 92k miles, bought in April 2012 @ 73K from dealer who sold it originally to a local town client...

Everything done at same dealership including air up on tires & oil changes....Found out the original oil they used at dealership as mileage matched 110% Valvoline Durablend 5w30 NO OIL BURN!! Chevron Techron Fuel Treatment before filling up after every oil change....

OE CD changer out of commission but I did not buy this car for the Audio entertainment!

Next up are Tires so any suggestions would be helpful as its driven sparingly on sunny / dry days highway use primarily to open her up after sitting in for a week typically.

All original since i've owned except for K&N filter drop....Front Left wheel bearing replaced right after getting 4 aftermarket rotors & pads (EBC brand from Car ID)

I probably have the highest mileage at this point.

A couple of months ago, I bought a 2007 M45 with 196k miles on it. It now has around 197,700 miles. Still running strong. No leaks and not burning oil. For a motor with this mileage to consume less than 1/2 quart of oil per 3k miles is a good sign.

Hey guys, i posted about this time last year at 107k. Well now I have 132k. I recently had a job change and it requires a lot of driving, to the tune of 450 miles per week. So here is the problem. First I love my M35S, and i don't want to trade it in for an economy car with great mileage. I use a K&N filter and synthetic mobil 1 oil. I cruse at about 75 mph on the way to and from work for about 4 miles both ways. I have an extended warrenty for possible engine wear and tear. I also keep regular service checks when it's time. The problem is I don't know how long the old girl will last with me stacking on the miles. What should I do?....New Maxima is very nice @ 30 mpg. :gotme

I would expect the M35 to last a lot longer with good regular maintenance. In fact, IIRC, I saw an 03 G35 last nearly 300,000 miles after only receiving TLC during the first 40,000 miles. I'm not really familiar with Nissan/Infiniti vehicles, though, so something could have changed between 03 and 08.

ETA: Pretty sure that G35 was traded off vs dying, too, so hard telling how much life it had left.

As long as you keep up with the oil changes, plug changes, and use good oil, I don't see why you shouldn't get 300K out of it. I plan to, with mine. I'm more worried about the tranny than the motor.

I have 205,200 miles on my 06' M35x. Largest repair has been a new steering rack. It needs new struts, but other than that, every single thing on the car works flawlessly. Being owned by an Infiniti tech doesn't hurt either. ;)

Recently hit 116,000 miles. Bought it five years ago with 41,500 on the clock. Had a leaky fuel rail repaired under Elite warranty at around 70,000 miles. Sunroof motor and one leaky headlight replaced before warranty ran out. I have been renewing various suspension parts over the last year or so. Pretty sure I need to replace inner and outer tie rod ends.

Thanks for the replies guys. It's reassuring to know that these engines are of good quality. I ran into a buddy and he had 179k on his '07 M35. I plan to baby her for the next 50k. Limited spirited driving from now on.... a ticket in Piperton Tn to the tune of $180 will make you slow down. Thanks again!! :dblthumb:

Although I bought I new daily driver two years ago I may still have the highest mileage 230,000 miles and counting.

I've been driving my machine like it's a rental and I'm late for a meeting since 2007 and I haven't had any major issues.

Replaced the radiator, a sensor or two and a thermostat. Hell I put it's 1st set of new shocks on her a month ago. I did replace the tranny at 184k but low and behold the last tranny flush at 80,000 miles, they shorted me 3 quarts and it wasn't even the right spec fluid. So I'm impressed it lasted as long as it did. Each day I drive it she sees 100+ mph. OEM starter, OEM alternator. I should do a commercial!

My 03 M45 has 151K right now after Castrol Edge 5W30 Oil change.

Had the Stealership do the Fuel gauge fix 4 months ago and works amazing now! If you need it, don't be lazy and go get it done. It's probably the only FREE recall Nissan will EVER give us on this damn car!

My 08 M35S has 124k. Bought certified with 32K on it back in 2010. No issues. Just recently added Motordyne 5/16" plenum spacer and Stillen Z tube. Pulls strong, uses no oil, and has no leaks. Had a clear bra on for about 4 years and just recently removed. Car still looks brand new. Now if only Megan can get those axle back exhausts in stock; I've got y-pipe and mid-pipes. Ready to get it all bolted on and get Uprev'd!

You can buy the Tanabe Medalion touring axle back that will work for the M35.

True. Just seen and heard a lot of Megan exhausts on this site, plus like the dual outlet. Some distributors have the burnt tip ones in stock but not sure if I want to go for that look.

I think there are few here that have the tanabe exhaust. I bought one as well with the megan mid-pipe but have not installed it yet.

The seat tracks can be fixed with a quick weld without replacing the whole shebang.

You apparently didn't read the other replies, there's several of us with over 200k. :)

The only issues mine has is a bad passenger side headlight adjuster and a bit of torque converter shudder when it unlocks after a steady cruise.

Do I still have the highest mileage award?

277,000 currently on the odometer. My 06 M35 is not my daily driver and usually is not in use for long periods of time. However I just took it for a drive for the first time in 6 months
and I must say, it was an enjoyable ride. Even did a few donuts for fun.

The wife asked me to sell it and my official answer to her was "it's worth more being available to us as a third car then the resale value". But truly I don't want to sell this reliable, well kept car that I owned for 13 years to someone that just going to not maintenance it and destroy it.

I have to decide soon because it's time to buy a new car.

Very interesting to read everyone's replies. I bought my 08 m35s with 138k miles and intend to keep it for the long haul. It's my daily driver and my 06 350z is my weekend/fun/track car. The girl drives a 2013 G37s which I drive all the time and will be traded for a 370z soon.

I have taken the M on canyon runs (when my Z was down for upgrades) and I really want to lower it .5" and replace all struts to firm up the ride but still keep it very streetable since it's car we use for travelling since it's the most comfortable. I have been running fully synthetic oil and it burns maybe .5L every oil change giver or take which is good for a VQ35.

For reliability I am going to be adding Z1's auto tranny cooler and installing an in-line temp sensor and gauge to monitor the temp on long trips. This is also good since it adds capacity to the system, etc. Everything looks OEM under the hood so I know there will be some things failing soon specially since I brought this car to Palm Springs and it can get up to 120 degrees in the summer so I use the best fluids on all my cars for longevity.
