I remember when I removed my coils to properly install them that i was amazed on how smooth the upper mounts moved. this weekend I think Im just gonna disassemble the entire front and inspect/replace as neccesary, kinda have to anyway to make the powerbrace.
Did you do it with the wheels in the air, or on the ground? You should try both.

I hate intermittent noises, I deal with them at work all the time, they are annoying. A customer will complain and complain, and I will drive the car and hear nothing. Then finally on their third visit do they reveal that the noise only happens when their 400 lbs son is in the passenger seat.

I would suggest figuring out exactly when the noise happens, to the point of being able to recreate it, this should help you nail it down.

I have not checked with the wheels off the ground...I will this weekend before I dismantle it.

I too hate intermitent problems, In the marines I fix the trucks and so when the drivers bring them to me with the problems and i cant duplicate it they get the truck back. customers arent always right in my job...We have someone bringing us a truck for a chassy wring harness, lots and lots of wires. i hope it works fine when it comes haha just kidding, but seriously

Most of the time, i couldn't honestly care less about the customers. Its not my job to worry about them, and in my opinion, they are wrong 99% of the time. I dont work on people, I fix cars.

heres what I had to start with....

and this is after a cresent wrench got involved...

I used a square piece of tube for the cross support and 1/8 steel to box in the arms... the measurement I used was 2-1/2 inchesX12inches for the boxing in and 23-1/2 for the cross support...not sure on what I used for the angle though

any way I know my welding looks like $hit but it was windy as hell and none of the lifts worked so I only had about a foot and a half to work under...for my hatch I will remove everything and do it in a better location, no wind.

yes I know I got my sway bar...Ill get it off another day
