If you live in the country side, its alot cheaper, because its alot less dense. Insurance rates have ALOT to do with location. J-Z lives in orland fl: Year round riding season + lots of road traffic = Stratispheric insurance rates.
I also hope that the CRB600rr is not your first bike, because that doesnt set you off any better from a safety stand point than j-z.
Sorry if it sounds harsh, but you have to realise if you buy a 600cc+ sport bike that insurance companies will only veiw you as a stupid kid with a fast bike until you turn about 24-26. So will most people, including other motorcycle riders.
Last summer I wanted nothing other than a yamaha YZF-R6, i now know, it could have been a fatal mistake to buy a powerful bike as a first one. Now I have my eyes set on a Ninja 250, a bike that has been in production for 17 years unchanged because it is concidered one of the best starter bikes ever made. A similar story with the Honda Nighthawk 250, which has been pretty much unchanged since the 70's.
I dont think the ninja 250 is a very pretty bike, but i know its the right place to start, and is plenty fast to bring me years of enjoyment for a fraction of the cost (literaly: $3000 new, ultra cheap insurance, 74 mpg)
