If Honda would lower the prices on those things, they would sell a lot more of them. But, that would strip the nsx of it's exotic status.

used honda = rip off IMO, the resale value on those cars is ridiculus around here. New is better to buy, and you'll get bak most of the cash when selling anyway.

I'd take an esprit over any car mentioned here so far, just me.

sky, i always thought the non turbo eclipse (talon up north) was FWD? Are you talking about the older gen's? Mitsu just came to Canada this year

You're right S14, all Talons/eclipses are FWD unless it's a GSX or a TSI with all-wheel drive.

I think she was just saying that she thought highly of any female that can drive a RWD manual :)....or atleast, I HOPE that's what she ment lol

i would personally get a used viper(my all time favorite car) , or a skyline if it wasnt a nissan product, oh and by the way repo man, if you have kazaa, look up 3000GT VR4 vs Supra , this "batmobile" kills the supra that tries to race him.

i would get an 1986 toyota corolla h/b trueno, say for about 2500 cause thats how much they sell for around here, drop a 20valve motor in it for a 2000, put custom intake for 300 and tanabe racing medallion for 500. some watanabe panasport knockoffs for 1000, trueno jdm bumpers and sideskirts for 2000. paint it panda style(top half white/ bottom half black) for 5000 with elements resistant bottom half protectant. cusco lsd for 1000, t3/t4 hybrid with fmic, turbo timer, hks blow off valve, boost gauge for about 6000. put in new lexan windows for 1000, tint out the windows for 100, re-up holster the interior with black leather and auto meter guages. throw a clarion head unit in it with a 7 inch tv and keyboard tuned into the ecu. boston acoustics door speakers and 2 12 power acoustiks and a 2 1600 watt amps and 2 capacitors, for about 6000, custom header and test pipe, 700. carbon fiber hood and eyelids 750. all for about 28,850. aint bad.

OK cool sygerwulf, I thought we got ripped up north with a FWD drivetrain, while you guys got RWD on the talon/eclipse.

Chicks who drive RWD manual cars are damn cool, but too few and far apart!!

;)

hows is the repair going? Deciede on a plan yet?

Vipers are a bit over the alloted price range, that i have seen at least.

Trueno's are damn quick little pos's! The styling is very outdated, but the car is very capable on a course. I was fortunate to have 2 come out at our local lapping event, lots of fun, and they are pretty mean little sleepers! Still ugly though, but to each their own!!!

40K to spend on a ride(s) that is/aren't NissanMy list would end up something like this(yes I realize it totals over the 40K, keep reading)FD3s(get over it, they're sweet)Supra Turbo(see above)MR2 Turbo(the 3sgte is a mother, I'll put it up against the SR20)Lexus SC300/400(slap turbos on one of these and tell me it doesn't fly)Lotuses are appealing, but the fit/finish issues, overheating, and the fact that I'm over 6' tall kinda rule them outA Chevette with a 396 in it b/c it's random and dementedA real 'VetteA GNX/Grand National/Turbo RegalWRX3000GT VR4A real Lancer Evo(which we should be getting next year, thank you Mitsubishi)One of the new Neon SRT-4'sGTICorradoSuzuki GSXR-1000Porsche 914/6, 911, 944 TurboThe FTO would be cool, but there's that whole importing a car, driver's side is on the wrong side, etc....SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO the winner(s) is/are:944Turbo, Mr2 Turbo, GSXR-1000, and my insurance company and the local government whose funds would be benefitted by my speeding tickets

freak, WTF did you do over at SON? Was looking for the SOCH s13's slow post, but it is gone! Damn kid, must flung some **** around over there, huh? Did wojtek make any sense? I know he'd school the 2 of us together with regards to the 240 and its mechanical components.

I dunno i tryed to make amense then he just kept going and cut up 240's ans ****... he gave them no respect as a machine and i had a problem with that... people like that shouldn't be allowed post on a board made specifically for the 240... All he is basing his **** on is his own car... which apparently was abused... the guy has lots of knowledge it would be nice if he would use it for the better instead of pissing me off while talking about how hondas are so great... and how wonderful they are to turbo...

LOL, I missed the part where he said hondas are great to turbo!! What a joke! Should have paid more attention to the thread I suppose! Come to any compromise?

I would buy a skyline R33 GTS for like $5000 and leagalize for $15000 and the rest would be for dropping a RB25DET in it plus mods, to bad legalizing a skyline cost more than the car.

you people must think that this is a load of BS but i have prove buy a skyline here http://www.hbtokyo.com/ legalize it here http://www.motorex.net/conversion.htmlI think with about $20000 can make a skyline pretty fast

Um yeah but its MADE BY NISSAN, and the question also stated that nissan wasnt around.

If there wasnt a nissan hmmmm I really cant think of anything.

I thought about the r5 turboII renault (saw a blurp on it a loooong time ago and its always kinda stuck) then remembered the clio v6.... Did a little reasaerch on it and found they fixed a bunch of suspension issues for the latest 03' model. Im kinda digging the new styling as well, well the front fascia kinda sucks but I wounder if the the previous years facia will bolt up :) The rest is nice though, in a funky MR stout brickish tank sorta way....

After some more searching and translating I finally found the set price....but its for the release of the 01 or 02 model. Anyway it was 240,000 (its got a 240 in it go figure) FRF ooooooooooor 39,039.14 USD. So its mine, if anyone cares to dig up the 03sset price go for it untill then Im going with this.

As you can tell I realy dont pay attention to much other then nissan (kinda funny pick as renault has its hand in nissan).

40K is a lot to spend. Some suggestions::used M3, newer used S4, last generation Rx-7 with money leftover, Used viper, used NSX was mentioned, a one year old Z06,

there are a lot of exotics and collectibles you can get for under $40K: Ferrari 308, Porsche 928, Lotus Esprit, Lambo Espada (on my wish list too), but purchasing them is the cheap part. Ain't cheap to repair or maintain them

$40,000? Hmmm....

1) I'd build my own car- a Shelby Cobra kit car with an aluminum block 351W stroked to 393ci. mated to a world class T56 6-spd transmission. Custom all-forged internals- blue-printed and molycoated. Custom turbocharger kit with max boost pressure of 28PSI. The perfect blend of raw, old-school cubic inches and modern forced induction. There's nothing like a midnight roll through the nevada desert with the beautiful growl of a forced-induction V8 filling the air. With the top down, desert wind caressing your face and enough power to liquify drag slicks at your feet.
