Hey WD-40, can you please stop erasing my posts. I am asking a simple question which in all honesty I don't understand why you won't answer.

I haven't deleted any of your posts, Oh and if we were friends, I wouldn't mind you jacking up my name, but we're not, so kindly spell it correctly or just use WD, thx.

Please feel free to post your question to me or email it to me.

This forum and all the threads in it are under closer surveilence do to our bandwidth problems. That is why we need to keep on topic as much as possible. To start a KA vs. SR war in the middle of a very decent thread would be unfortunate for everyone trying to learn somthing.

I only jumped on you because every single thing in your original post was incorrect, and it was.

Here I'll even make a thread just for us to dispute the KA vs. SR.

I do not want to dispute the KA vs the SR. That was never my intent, and you are welcome to your opinion, but I feel my comment about cost for the KA at high Hp was pretty accurate.

The only question I have is to Matt not you WD, and that is why you selected to stick with the KA for such high HP when other options are available.

Incorrect, you came on here posting complete garbage about the SR20 and the KA. I live in Japan, I'm around them all day long. I know exactly what the SR is capable of.

I'm not even in America to drive a KA. But when I get there I will be building one. Therefore, unlike some people, I did a ton of research on the KA motor.

Don't be angry at me or the other Mods here cause your posts got deleted, so did mine.

If you can post some factual info about the SR in comparison with KA in one post, then it can stay. Other wise it doesn't belong in this section.

I'm not an angry person, I'm actually quite friendly, I tend to help everyone as much as possible. I have alot of different views then some of the other knowledgeable tuners on these forums, but we learn from each other all the time.

But the info posted needs to be factual...

Cool WD I look forward to hearing your interperation on fuel management systems for the KA-T. But do pretty much all of the turbo kits available come with their own fuel management system? If so wouldn't I be getting something I don't need? And WD maybe you, a couple of other knowledgeable people, and me (the non-knowledgeable) could design a FAQ Sticky for the KA boards. I would be willing to scrounge up alot of links/prices for the most commonly KA-T questions to help. That way you wouldn't have to delete every other post asking "I have a KA, should I build a kit or buy one?"

But anyways, thanks for all the help in general, I could write a book by now...

i deleted them.

just as WDRacing said, we're not going to waste bandwidth.

i've also noticed people complaining about using the search function. they say that most of the threads end up going off topic, so they can't find any real answers to their questions.

that's going to change.

My guess would be any MAF for a car that the E-Manage lists as an application. I haven't seen a complete list. Try this site...if you search around enough, you find a list somewhere...

http://mkiv.com/tmp/emanage/#Resources%20/%20Info:

You can also join the yahoogroups, the link is on that site and someone on the list may be kind enough to give you more details.

Great Idea, I'll start working on a how to turbo my KA24DE. Then I'll move on to a FAQ's about such things. If you could email me any questions you can think of that would be great. I'll probably work on it for a few days then make a sticky with all the info I gather.

Just so you know, I'll be emailing the list to the other Mods so they can edit and add to.

Just to try and get the best Thread the first time, without having to redue everything every couple of days. Since there is alot of info.

On the bottom of the thread, I'll post all the links. So email me whatever links you have as well.

Check out these websites,

http://sandstallion.com/link_wiem.html alot of people use these on they're Skylines over in Australia. Sounds like a decent system to me. Link is know to be fairly inexpensive aswell.

http://www.ccengines.co.uk/smt5.htm This one got my attention because it looked simple. Its worth a look...

In the end Matt there is no real easy way to do things.

Its your money, you'll have to decide on what to do with it. Looks like 1000-2000 either way.

Yea that seems to be the way. But with the e-manage system or the Link systems, would you suggest their boost controllers, because I know that you said it would be good to have a two-way one with low and high boost settings. Also, since I have never really had a standalone I am not familiar with the setup. Do all standalones systems come with a configuration screen that you should hook up in your interior?

Most standalones are meant to be used with a serial cable on a PC or laptop using a COM port. Whether or not you choose to put a screen in your car with a PC or use a laptop is up to you. As long as you have an IBM-compatible computer (in most cases), you should be fine.

Great thanks, that would look bada** :D . I remember when I was talking to a guy from SP engineering about their Supras (WOW) at IRev and he whips out a labtop, I was amazed. Anyways information like this helps me out alot because I can visualize what my setup will end up looking like because I know alot of information in theory but can't visualize how it is used. Like I know that the HKS SAFR has more fuel map points than the A'pexi SAFC and thats one of the reasons I would get it yet I have never even seen one or the other :)

This thread is good.Although I am on a tighter budget than Matt, and am going to build a KA24ET over the summer, this thread has been invaluable to me, because of the information posted that was universal to most turboing applications for any KA (and probably other engines too). I wish someone would make a similar thread and focused more on the aspects of turboing the ET, but I think I'll start one closer to the summer when I am more ready to ask seriuos and specific questions regarding that engine and what applies to it, without reasking the ones that were answered here. Thanks again guys,

sil80
