What has your Coupe been mistaken for?

yep, working in retail fast food service is just about the lowest payed and most joked about profession (if you can really call it that).should never make fun or degrade someone because of what they do. if they didn't do it there'd be nobody there to make your change at the drive through window and you wouldn't be able to score taco's in less than 60 seconds. there's not much, but a little bit to be said for the people that make our lives easier by serving fast food.

Maybe the girl got layed off from a previous job or can't get working papers. Don't be arrogant because you have a nice car. That's really uncalled for.

As for your comment of someone with a 7 series or S class, please, I own an 2005 SL500. It's got less than 10K miles on it. I drive that every once in a while. The FJ behind it was what I traded to get the AC. The sportbike in front of my SL is my 05 Honda Repsol. Only 500 made in the world and that is #173. Although I have a doctorate degree, I don't usually condescend on people, and like I said, I already realized that what I said was uncalled for in my previous post. I already felt bad so no need in scolding me! Besides, I believe during that day, my schedule was heavy & full and I was runing out of time and the line was really slow on that day which probably wore on my patience.

I relaly don't care what you own. Just don't make ppl feel like crap is all I'm saying. By the way.. you're very ignorant if you think ppl dont work without working papers in fast food chains. And I don't want everyone here ripping me for saying that.. Ppl get hired illegally at gas stations.. fast food.. and places where the pay sucks because they have no choice other than to take that crap *** job and serve ungrateful people so they can put some food on the table for their kids. Lifes about choices you're right.. some ppl choose to come to this country and get screwed over.

I am a coffee fiend (college helps my addiction), and I roll up to coffee stands all the time, and the people typically know me, and they are like holy sh** you got a lexus.. Then I have to tell them... no.. It's an Altima. But hell, right now, I'd rather have the Altima as it cost me 10k or more less, and it gets the same reaction. And with the SL package, and nav, I'm pretty happy:)

Only two times for me.

Once, when I hit it on Highway 121 (WOT), Mustang Cobra pulled up and the guy yelled: "What the F&*( is that thing", gave props. Then I told him it was an Altima ..... Jaw Drop. He and I did a quick 0-70 together, he won, but only by a hair. Much fun and he gave props, our kind of ppl.

Second time, enter into the Hwy 191 Tollbooths at 77, got clocked by a DPS Cop. Pulled over real nice, gave him extra space on the side of the road so he was safe from traffic. We spent the next 30 minutes talking about the car, got a warning (77 in a 45) ...... That was the best almost-ticket I've ever had. Besides, he was a nice guy.

my SEDAN got mistaken for many things, even though my badges state ALTIMA 2.5S on Z, which doesnt exist, it got mistaken for a maxima many many times, and mistaken for a car which i really hate which is the G6

I love my Sedan.

I'm not a fan of the coupe. It isn't bad by any means, but I just don't like the look they went for in it - reaching for the expensive Euro-cars, I think.

I get a lot of "What is that?" "It's beautiful." from strangers. Whether at the grocery store or going through the gates on base or whatever. My hubby was driving it throughy the gates one day and a guard asked, "What is that thing, it is pimp." lol... He told him it was an Altima and his jaw dropped like no way.

I took it to get it washed a few days ago and the lot attendant guy came over and asked me what I thought of it. He said he hadn't seen one in person yet and was really amazed at what a beautiful car it was.

I took my body kit parts to a shop yesterday that I have had do work on my previous Corvettes and when I pulled into the shop to drop off the parts for the Altima, everyone came running out and made several comments on the car. "Ohhh, Awww, Wow, BEAUTIFUL, Gorgeous! etc..." That was pretty funny. They stopped working on the Vettes to come take a look at my Alti! That was pretty damn cool.

All I can say is I fall more and more in love with this car everyday and I can't wait to see what the aftermarket brings for these beauties. Like I said, I have a few parts in the shop being painted up for the Alti now and my Lowering kit should be here today, after that, its time to get serious with the go fast goodies.

So far, I've had about 3 people mistake my Altima Coupe for a G35. I also had one person mistake it for a Scion tC, and all I could do was roll my eyes since that's what I traded in for my A/C.

I have sooo many people checking my car out on the road, though.. and a few people have stopped me in parking lots to ask me about it and to tell me how pretty it is.

Lots and lots of compliments, every single person that has taken a guess at the price has said $40k... literally everyone. Call them dumb or whatever but i definitely believe that the altima coupe is a cut above other cars at this price range. I keep my car real clean too which i think helps a bit but I think you all do the same . Very much enjoy paying around $25k for a car that looks like I spent much more.

Why is it that is seems so many here take offense to any comparison or reference to Toyota or worse Honda. Both companies have excellent reputations as far as quality product.

Some even take offense to comparisons to Infiniti - although i think that has died down some.
