So it's NOT like those tacky EBay kits? lol.

Is it sticky? Or did you wrap it and tape it in the back or something?

Hey White wolf - can you post a few pics of your grill. I dont think Ive seen anyone black out the whole thing yet. Usually the top and bottom are still chrome. Anyway, can you post some pics of it?

The vinyl comes with adhesive on the back. You kinda have to tug at it to remove it, but it doesn't leave residue behind.

I will post some close ups as soon as I get home.

I was able to re-install the Sarona roof spoiler and installed a set of Hella air horns. Now it sounds so much better and people can hear me now.

I was able to wash the car and give it a quick wax job, weather here in NJ is nasty. Getting ready for the NJ meet this Sunday.

Here's what I did:
- removed grille from front bumper (followed the FSM)
- sanded the grille with 400grit sand paper
- wiped down the grille with isopropyl alcohol
- sprayed on primer; and let dry for about 30min (15min in the sun, 15min in the shade)
- sanded the primer'd grille with 1000grit sandpaper
- wiped down the grille with ispropyl alcohol
- sprayed first coat of gloss black; let dry for about 30min (15min in the sun, 15min in the shade)
- sprayed 2nd coat of gloss black; let dry for about 1hr (30min in the sun, 30min in the shade)
- sprayed first coat of clear; let dry for about 30min (15min in the sun, 15min in the shade)
- sprayed 2nd coat of clear
- let the grille dry for about 2 hours (1hr in the sun, 1hr in the shade)

You's a dedicated mofo White Wolf... and I'm loving the piano black overlay for the trim but I got 4 ?s 1. Does it look as clean in person as it does on the picture? Be honest please cuz I really want to do this (I've posted about this before) as I'm probably going to have another set of trim soon that I'm going to be able to play with... 2. Is your overlay over wood or aluminum trim? I'm asking because the aluminum trim isnt smooth like the wood... 3. If you decide to take it off, is it going to spoil the trim for good with glue residue? Or you cant tell? 4. If you had to do it again would you do it with the overlay or paint them?? Thanks ahead of time.

I used Duplicolor clear coat, and for the chrome piece I ordered my body color (K32) at automotivetouchup.com

1) Yes, my trim looks as clean as it does in the picture. It took a lot of patience and a steady hand. I'm lucky; I work as a nurse in the operating room... so I used a scalpel from work to trim off excess vinyl. For best results, you'll have to take the trim out of the dash and doors.

2) I had wood trim.

3) The adhesive on the vinyl will not ruin the trim underneath. When you remove vinyl stickers from a window it doesn't leave anything behind... the etching is of no concern because you will be covering an entire item.

4) If I had to do it again... I would still choose vinyl. But only because I didn't want to buy another set of interior trim. If I had a 2nd set lying around, I would totally spray paint the bastards XD I'm much more accustomed to using spray paint...and it's a lot more stress free. Applying vinyl isn't exactly easy (well..ok.. the applying part is easy, the trimming is annoying... if you cut too much, you'll see spots of orange-wood trim seeping through).

Just got my resonator's deleted at my uncle's shop.

This was taken with my iPhone 3GS. It sounds a little deeper in person, and it isn't "loud" under normal driving. From 1-3k rpm the engine hums, but after 3k+rpm's the engine starts roaring  . My uncle says that "popping" sound is normal, and should go away when the exhaust settles... and if it doesn't, oh well... it doesn't really bother me.

I have a decibel meter app for my iPhone, I'll get some numbers and post them up soon.

Overall, I'm very satisfied. :dblthumb:

Finally removed the 10000k hids I had and replaced with 6000k d2s lows and 6000k h11 fogs from ddm tuning. Looks great today was a rainy day and could still see the lights hitting the floor happy with the results. Hopefully will lower my car this weekend with the espilars ilyakol blessed me with. Also got my roof wing in finally yesterday took 4 weeks to get here that won't go on until I get my oem lip kit. Got lots of tips and ideas from this forum thanks to all

Got my wheels balanced and rotated since I had some shaking and some rubbin issues...turns out, my alignment took care of the rubbing....no more rubbing!! Shaking got better but I saw a couple bends on the wheels.....might get a new set of wheels sooooon!!!

Dang, u serious? Sorry to hear that... That's why I tell people to get forged wheels... I know they're more expensive but they wont easily bend.

that's the reason I didn't go for 22's the tires are like rubber bands. Also it doesn't help that the M is over 4,000lbs.

they don't stand a chance here in Jersey no matter what wheels you have. People around here are bending steel wheels with full size tires.

Big ballers around here just cry when they bend $6,000 wheels :yesnod

Put xpel headlight protection kit on--tired of all the little chips from rocks thrown up by 18 wheelers and trucks
Passenger side still has a few white spots since i did it first, driver side looks much better--used a hair dryer while i smoothed it out.

It's the construction in this city....never ending story! My next move is the stock 20" just dont know if I will get silver, gunmetal or chrome! I guess it depends on what I find. I think with my color car any one will look good, especially stock wheels!!...new are too high! Since I have the eibach drop it should look clean and still have good clearance.... :gotme

if you have bends but it doesnt shake when you drive, why spend money on new rims? Also you can get the wheels straightend for about 100 bucks each at a wheel repair shop.

I am considering that as well...(repairing them) I can use the money for my new baby boy expenses or go ahead and do my rear end mods..(exhaust, roof spoiler). Thanks for the advice,.makes more sense when more great minds think alike!! :bigthumb:
In the future I plan on still getting into a set of stock 20" when I find a good set....
