With the help of a friend, changed my very first set of brake pads and rotors to aftermarket ceramic pads and drilled and slotted ones from
Brakemotive
a little skeptical at first since pretty cheap (but sponsor on many car enthusiast sites + Nissan and outstanding reviews from eBay buyers) so...
Bedded them in a few nights ago--so far so good...we'll see in a few hundred/thousand miles. So far, ride stops great, no whirring/whooshing/squealing
Also took the opportunity with the wheels off to clean the other side of the rims--waaaayyyy dirty

A little elbow grease and time (got faster as I got used to how it all fit together) saved me some serious bucks--will be taking my friend and his wife out to dinner for helping me-won't be taking my car to the stealership to have brakes redone ever again.
