Painted my CAS, front water pipes, and all 4 valve covers. Then I installed them (and ran out of RTV in the middle of it DOH!), and I put in my fuel rail, timing covers, AC bracket, and I wanted to put my rear water pipe and intake plenum but it was 2.30AM and I need to get some sleep for work.

Bored again this weekend and no one wants to reply to my offers for their wheels, so on to recovering my back hatch area which will be easier than the front.
I got a great color match for the red/burgundy interior coverings plus three different black cloth types for the rear hatch area and tweed areas, I also lightly (1/8"" foam) padded the tweed areas and am already done in front except for the door panels which need dis-assembly so I'll do them one by one later.
Since I have black seats I have gone black in the tweed areas and will black out the side panels in the rear, but am staying the red/burgundy most everywhere else.
When I get done, I have replacement material for the vinyl areas of the door panels and dash when I feel like torturing myself...although both are in pretty decent shape so I may put that off for awhile.
All materials and contact cement so far cost about $150, compared to what the Nissan thieves want...and one weekend (15-16 hours) of time spent for the front area so far.

I finished installing my alternator, putting the belts and setting the tension, then put my radiator in, and I put my pilot bushing in then had to go get dinner with my gf so I left it lol.

...And, woo-HOO! I get the call to come-'n'-get-'em, and am now the proud new owner of some 18" Enkei Fittipaldi 5-spokes with nice Bridgestone low profile tires!
225 35's in the front with a little stretch, 265 35's in the rear...mmmmmmm
Can't WAIT to put 'em on tomorrow, may even have to see if I have the energy to install my GTR brakes as well now that they'll fit!!! :woot:

Mine is quietly sitting in the first bay watching a heart transplant on my son's Integra. It gets to run for parts later, though...

Ya think?
For whatever reason my Z has IMO never been a car that understeers as I can toss the rear any time I want and drop to the inside of any line the car can handle at speed, so if somehow it becomes more neutral in corners I doubt I'd dislike that!
Plus the Bridgestone REO50A meats are FAR better than what I currently have which certainly will affect cornering.
We'll see...soon!

Anyone know if you *have to* remove the alternator and p/s pump in order to pull the motor?

Yesterday I:
deleted passenger side aiv
pulled all fuel/vacuum lines
unplugged all electrical connectors

I'll be back at taking apart the motor in a bit. Should be about ready to get it in the air to pull exhaust, driveshaft, and transmission.

Z32s understeer stock. Staggering tires exaggerates this effect. Non-stagger is the way to go on the Z32 for a neutral handling car. Ask most of the Z32 owners that road race or autocross their Zs. They'll tell you non-stagger is the way to go. Even if you're pushing power.

Who told you that?

I pulled mine using a 1 ton hoist with the transmission still attached. People make it seem more difficult than it really is.

Thanks for the clarification, I assumed he meant for tracking.
So far so good after a test drive, My Z is a DD so I doubt I'll push it hard enough to make any extra oversteer occur...

i'm basing it off of a write-up I'm following from tt.net. I know the transmission and engine can be pulled together but didn't know if the alternator and p/s pump could stay. I know the ground and cable to battery need to be yanked but wanted to double check if there is anything else to look out for like clearance from the a/c and oil lines from the alternator.

Anyways, today I finished deleting the aivs and also deleted the prvr and re-routed all lines. It's incredible how much extra crap is left behind!

Replaced the stock NGK plats with NGK iridums. I THINK the engine feels smoother...but for sure there is no performance increase on the butt dyno.. Could be wrong though.

Beautiful day in Iowa, got lots accomplished today. Picked up a pair of 3 ton jackstands so I don't get crushed from my fatass z. Got the z in the air, painted my steelies satin black to replace the ridiculous baby s*** green the P.O. painted them. Looks 963739202 times better. Also took off my exhaust and did a carbon canister delete. Had a small crack in my radiator overflow reservoir so I used clear silicone to patch it up-no more leaks and feels solid. Pulled miscellaneous obsolete brackets/lines. Now need vacuum caps for c.c. delete. Will drain transmission/diff and pull driveshaft and hopefully accessories tomorrow, if I have time after fixing my 4X4 shifter in the truck to prepare for winter.

Well, after my right rear shock "broke" and rattled around for a day, she got new rear shocks and while I was at it, after getting the "new" 18" wheel setup run successfully for a week I went ahead and installed my long-awaited GTR brakes.
Brakes are heat-painted red with the hubs black, and took about two hours to dismount old, replace rotor/calipers, and bleed.
The rear shocks however......I wanna hour with a sledgehammer Hostel-style with the $#@& who designed that setup. I wanna hurt him BAAAAAADDDD...

Well yesterday i finished my clutch install. Clutch works great no slipping at all, Fixed my exhaust leak and rear main seal oil leak. The car was running like a dream except for the fact that its burning oil like crazy, The pass. side turbo had a lot of shaft play when i felt it when i took the downpipes off, Never get rebuilt turbos! So mad but looks like its time to shop for bigger turbos =] ooh and i need brakes now too...lol
