hey man u said u drilled out all the spotwelds and pulled out the firewall im in the process of doing that but it seems as though when im drilling out the spot welds the sheet metal is still securely attached to one another what can i do to ease it to seperate it lately ive been using a combo of a punch and a putty knife but this is extremely very time consuming just taking out a simple plate to get 2 more spotwelds took over an hour i could only imagine a whole fire wall

you going to have use either a flat head screwdriver or a thin chisel..and your going to have to hammer it in between both sheets of metal and pry it a loose

hey man im still struggling on the firewall. I'm working on the clip, I have problems in one area and that is the top. All of the bottom part (like undercarriage and foot pedal area etc) is all pretty much loose and chiseled out, but as far as the top goes, I don't have a clue in where its suppose to be chiseled out. I have an idea from the inside where things need to be pried out but as far as the front view its making no sense? let me know if any of this is making sense heres some pictures of what im talking about.

ok in the 4th pic your going to have to remove that seam sealer to find the rest of the spot welds. Also if I remember correctly thats the only place I cut also along the side where the doors attach to...ok i know thats kind of confusing but its part of the structure where the fuse box is bolted to. ok well your going to have to cut along the side of that because the firewall is also spot welded to that structure. You'll see what im talking about once you get on it. Oh yea in the 2nd pic i just cut that piece off because it was kind of a b**** and when i put the new firewall in the car i made sure to weld it correctly....if you have anymore questions man my e-mail is [email protected]

i'm very curious to see how you did it .. when i had my dad out, i couldn't figure out how to make it look like .. cuz of the crazy curves the dash has..when i brought it to a shop .. he quoted me 500$ because he had to and stiching on the curves

yea they are expensive so i figure if i fiberglass it and then put that linex stuff on it then it should last along time plus it looks sweet from what i know the dash after it gets the kevlar linex mix it makes it pretty much indestructable. here are some pics from a 240 forum i saw it on....

I love those wheals! I have seen them in lower offsets and always thought they were ugly. But those look fantastic!

I wouldn't mind owning one just to have extra room near the gas pedal. The left side floor pan wasn't designed really well for this chassis - for me it's not natural to have a different floor height under the gas pedal & brake pedal - it should all be flat!

Some may do it for looks or status. Others may do it for turbo down pipe clearance and dash options.

I'd say the biggest draw is that the conversion is pretty unique in itself. While there are plenty of RHD cars on the road in the US it's another thing to say "mine was LHD but I converted it. To some people it's cool and they can take pride in it. To me.. it seems like too much work to be honest.

OP: you're doing a great job with your conversion man! Keep us updated.

Hey guys thanks for all the comments. I appreciate what everyone is saying I just wish I was done with it and what not. Its been tough with looking for work and going to school so the car had to sit for a bit. But I'm back on it and I'm hoping to get it done quick like. Also yea I've seen my wheels in lower offset but i got lucky on these wheels seeing that they are Autostrada Modena wheels made by work wheels. Oh yea on the rhd drive part I know lots of people see no point in doing it but I did it because of the work I do take pride in my work. Thats the main reason for all of this and I must say I'm pretty happy with it. It just takes so much time to finish the little things. I will make sure to keep you guys updated more recently and I'll have more pics of the whole car when I drop the front more.

The specs of the wheels are 17x8 and 17x9 +39 all the away around, but I have 25mm spacers all the away around also. So that makes the offset +14 all the away around.
