I'm still sorta new here I guess compared to some people, but I have definetly seen a change in the attitude of this place. I'll be over at shift_240 definetly - I like the small group thing - but I'll also be over here. There's too much good stuff here to just give it up cause of a few (okay a lot of) bad apples.

Wow, I'm not the youngest person... I joined this board about a month and a half after my 15th birthday, and spent the next 4 or 5 months in the 240 General section almost exclusively, why? Cause I thought I would get a 240. I then left for a while cause my interests shifted, then I came back, and then the Sentra appeared in my garage when I got my license, no complaints here. Anyway, when I first got here, I'll admit it, I asked relatively typical questions about SRs, but I believe I was on the leading edge of the onslaught of people asking those same questions. I find myself wanting to scream "SEARCH," but I remember coming here and asking very nearly the same thing, so I give a little info and then say that searching will answer everything. As for flaming, everyone flames at least a little once in a while, but there's a difference between a little flaming and harassment, and I believe Masterman is talking about the harassment of newbs. This board has become incredibly large, and the Admins and Mods work their butts off to keep it civil and clean, and they all deserve a hand, whether their cleaning was appreciated or not. Leaving is not the answer, the answer is to teach these people, and if they (I'm referring to the "ricers") see that they don't like the generally performance minded attitude of the board, then they can leave, and start a board for their interests. NICO is, and will always be, the best Nissan/Infiniti enthusiast board on the net, and I hope everyone stays.

the bashing of the newbs got on my nervs but when i mod posted a tred to bash me and call me names, then other people joined in that was just over the top.. he could of emailed me and talked to me in private.. but the fact is, it didnt even invlove him, so why did he jump in on it and start a thred? i dont know. the person that i joked with could of emailed me back and said "hey that wasnt nice u pissant, say ur sorry" or somthing like that and it would of been all over....

Don't be bitter TrueSlide. I've seen you around a good bit and the vast majority of things you say are both intelligent, and free of bashing, we need more people who can do both of those, not fewer. I've been on other forums, DSMs, VWs, Legends, another Infiniti site, and Miatas, (I won't bash those groups, as they were majority pretty good too) and NICO is still the best group on the net. well i see all of these people leaving because it's lost it's "Family appeal" and they're all leaving for Shift240.

There's a decent amount of people here that don't own a 240, and with all this talk about 240s, some of you that say you're leaving act like that's all nico is. what nico has over shift240 is the wealth of knowledge of the members have.

You say that Search It is said over and over and questions aren't answered, but at shift240 its different. I dont know this, since i'm not any of you who are leaving, but you're probably reading 240 threads, since you own one. This forum and the people who visit want to help as many as they can, and as the same question is asked over and over about the same car, one would get fed up. At Shift240, theres only that one car, so it would be friendlier.

Now i'm not saying anything bad about shift, it seems like a good place to go if thats your car. But NICO is a broad place for all nissans and all infinitis. So don't get offended because of "Search for it". If you did search for the answer, the same people that say that probably answered it then.

Anyways, i think that MM, Slide, Jon, Racin, ZERO (even though it appears you're still hanging around)-

you guys each have respective knowledge and opinions that have made NICO what it is, what made me want to join, and what has already helped me learn an immense amount in the matter of two months. So don't give up. And remember this quote from Michael Bolton (not the singer) off of Office Space, regarding how he should change his name to stop being confused with the lame-*** singer.

Why should I Change? he's the one who sucks.

i think that has a deep and significant meaning for you guys.

Just my opinion, and i hate to see something like this deteriorate.

Very good points!There are so many car specific boards out there, no matter what you drive there is a board for your car.One of the things that I love so much about NICO is that its Nissan/Infiniti and also welcomes others(we almost always have a Honda or some other brand show up at our meets to show respect).I use the Spec V and Altima boards to gather information sometimes but hang out here for the company and info.You just have to go to a NICO meet to see the love!;)

I like NICO a lot...but I think a select few people need to learn to take a joke and lighten up. Also, I think people need to learn how to just blow something off, say your piece and let the issue drop. I've gotten into it with Masterman before, we have a few differences of opinion...but I don't want him to leave! His good knowledge outweights the few issues I disagree with him on, I just enjoy a good argument from time to time. Don't leave MM!
