MM and Jon, I understand your reasons for leaving. I wish you didn't go, of course, but I know what you're referring to. I think I went through the exact same thing, so I sympathize. All I can say is, welcome to 21st Century Amerika...and I'll leave it at that.

I had the same thoughts about leaving a while back, but I am simply too stubborn to leave...and I don't want to give anyone who dissed me the satisfaction of seeing me depart. Plus, there's still a lot of people I do like on this board and have helped me out. The good experiences, for me, have far outweighed the bad ones.

So I stay. I hope you guys reconsider and decide to as well...if not, good luck and I've enjoyed your co.

-Dave

EDIT: MM, you got HICAS...we are a dying breed...c'mon man, represent! Don't go!

All of this is a function of us having become so large.

I rather have some Drama and be as large as we have become, then stay small and get and give less to members.

As a guy that was on 240sx.org and came over to NICO when it first went to vbulletin, I have to say I hate to see what NICO has become, and I also am glad for some of the growth thats going on. All my life I've loved the small family atmosphere's where everyone knows everyone, etc. I guess here in the NICO General section, we still have that relatively small "family" type atmosphere. Not in 240sx general or anything though. I hardly EVER post there anymore, because of the, cough morons cough, that are now buying the beloved 240, because some magazines have done the JDM TytE mods to it. But hey, Masterman, thanks for all the laughs. I'll miss ya. I might see you one shift240.com I'll check it out and see if I like it ;)

:Werd to 95silviaSE and i will definately start posting more on shift240, but ill still be here as well. But it definately has changed lately... i havent been around all that long, but change, both bad and good can be seen by all... and IMO the change here lately leans more towards the fore mentioned... and i too dontpost on 240 gen much cuz of all the morons. FAQ is there for a reason, but every1 acts like its ****in hidden behind a 20 foot thick cement wall, and on top of the repetive ?'s, there are the ?'s like 'can i put a FWD SR in my car and convert FWD' agh...

Guys, I hate to hear you are thinking about leaving NICO. But if you feel that is what you have to do....... I too dislike this bashing and flamming. But that is just the way it is on the net. When you have a community of people from every background and ages from under 15 to over 50, they will have different opinions, and different ways of expressing them.

I just figure it like this. The flammers are mentally challenged so i TRY not to pay attention to them. Doesn't always work. My only regret is that I am not as able to provide as much information as some of you guys do, to the new members.

You act like we didn't reconsider when we first decided to leave.. Its not like we are loving the fact of saying.. "we're leaving"... it just seems like this site is getting to the point of the majority rules here.. and that majority seems to be snooby teens with something to say and nothing to offer.. When i joined in April.. it was never like this and that was only 5 months ago.. since then.......... this site has seem to lost its "Family" feeling and turned into more of a computer generated "SEARCH IT!!!" response everytime a question is asked.. Well hell.. i'm sure when you had a question people didn't reply with a search it... What message are we sending out to people when we say stuff like this.. I'm pretty sure when you joined the board no one would flame you.. now it seems as if there is so much flaming here its keeping 911 busy... If there is someway around this i'll be happy to help... but untill then.. it'll be a browsing and posting occasionally here... for me atleast......

There has always been flaming of one sort or another ("The Ring"). There has definitly always been the "search" attitude. I don't know if it was around before I joined, but around that time there were SO many repetitive threads that saying "search" became the norm. People are just too lazy.

AZ, by "crap" I'm basically referring to the 240 general chat. Repetitive, stupid, and irrelevant threads keep me out of there. I kinda like the general chat because it is more of the older guys, and definitly a majority of the people here are intellegent and respectful.

"Crap" is some kid registered for a month, calling another kid a n00b who has be registered longer, and has less of a post count...ridiculious. (and might I add, neither of them could tell thier elbow from their ***hole.)

I searched for 300zx master cylinder swap (not those exact terms) yesterday and there was only one relevant thread :rolleyes

What's that :rolleyes for? So you found only one thread...That's great, you read that thread, and if it doesn't answer your question you post it and no one can tell you to search...THAT is how the search button works.

I was 14 seven years ago...I don't understand your point. You can be 14 and not say stupid things...MM the same exact thing happened to me...

I'm delivering pizza and these two kids had to be 14 or 15..."wow, that's a nice 240 (which it really isn't). you got an SR20 in there?" Now this was only the 2nd or 3rd time I was asked that, but already p-ed off, plus they already gave me my tip.

"If I had an SR in there do you think I'd be using it to deliver pizzas to people like you?" Then promptly turned around and walked away.

And it's only going to get worse.

LOL... OWNED by the pizza guy. :D

We'll keep working on it -

You guys are doing a pretty good job of patrolling your own areas, so we try not to be too heavy-handed. But then when we DO start cracking down, people scream censorship... It's a no-win situation for us Admins and the Mods.

So we figure it this way: If you don't like something, help change it. If you like it here, stay. If you don't, and you're not willing to help, then you're not NICO material anyhow. :D

p.s. Sometimes you need to be more general with the search function. Typing in "300zx master cylinder swap" isn't gonna help if the original poster started a wonderfully informative 5-page thread with, "How I did my Z-car master cyl swap." See what i mean?

I swear the sr20 question gets old. I was telling this guy how it annoyed me that every time I talk about wanting more power I hear get an sr20. 2 minuites later this guy walks out and over hears me talking bout building a ka and says "why not get an sr20"
