Hurray!! It's finally here. We picked up our Versa on 12/7 it's due date. We drove it home on snow covered roads in a snow storm in bumper-to-bumper traffic without a single problem. It drives like a dream. We have about 200 miles on it and it is a half full gas tank! We are very happy with Sterling Heaights Nissan and the Versa!

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Not entirely correct. When you "order" one from allocation, you're just putting down a small deposit. You are not opening or signing for a loan until the car comes in and you do the paperwork. You are making no payments for the time the car is coming.
I agree with you and gottafly (but in a different way). It's pretty much impossible to make payments on a car that you don't hold title to. But I agree with gottafly's idea. If you think about it, when you give your deposit to the dealer, you've basically just given him a interest free loan. It only has to be paid back when you ask for it back (normally when you purchase your car). They can do whatever they want with your money (even invest it) as long as they can give it back to you when you ask. So asking for a loaner car is a really good idea and very reasonable.

I called dealer today and he told me that my V is in compound here and it should arrive dealership this week. Hopefully he is not just saying it. Should I ask him something for compensate the time that I have waited (3month)? What kind of free bie that dealer normally will offer for this kind of situation?

3 months isn't that long. Well it is, but there's been others that have had that same amount of time to wait. I can already see that the dealer will say that it's not the dealer's fault, the factory had delays. This may be true though. For the sake of asking, just tell him to throw in some mats, splash guards, or aluminum sill plates. These are normally pretty cheap items that a dealer would be more likely to give away to keep a customer coming back for post sale services. Don't get crazy and ask for money off the car or free sports package. You may talk your way out of a good relationship.

I'm in the same boat as you. I ordered an S model, it was going to be 3 weeks, ARGHHH! Then 2 weeks later I switched to the SL (better deal and more of the stuff I wanted) Anyways, it was going to be a 3 month wait. Well, I signed up. I called every dealer in Calgary and they all had none, or they were spoken for. One sales guy actully told me that he would sell me his (he also waited 3 month's) for 5K more. As they are so popular no one will give a car to another dealership. Anyways, mine as of 1 week ago is rail status, I hope for it before x-mas. I guess this what happens with the in demand cars.

Ours showed up about 3 weeks after rail status, so cross those fingers. (We ordered it on September 26 and got it on December 8, which is pretty good, all things considered.)

Yes, congrats TOVersa. There's definitely more Vs on the road in Southern Ont. now...... I saw my first one on the road a few days ago and now I'm seeing them everywhere!
