I went to Downtown Nissan at Adelaide & Parliament. When I first went they did give me the heads up that the SLs are harder to find (I got the S).

Well for us here in Canada Thanksgiving was back in October but I appreciate the sentiment... hope you get your Versa soon!

Congrats on the car. I'm still waiting for mine. Hopefully we'll have ours before Mid Dec.

My dealer has a Versa on the slot that VIN number ends at 383559 and mine ordered versa vin number is 382xxx. I know the last 7 digital of VIN number is production number so how come the car that made after my car has arrived at dealer but mine is still nowhere to see. I called them yesterday and they told me that they still don't have it. Is this normal?

The order of the VIN doesn't necessarily represent the order of cars coming out of the plant. Nissan could be assigning random serials to prevent one VIN from too closely matching another when it leaves the factory. Mine ends in 390xxx and my order was placed exactly 8 week ago. That's pretty close to when you placed an order. That's just a theory. That's a question that only your dealer would be able to answer by digging deeper. Press him to dig a little deeper into the problem and bother him until he get an answer back to you.

You are right. I called Nissan Canada and they told me that number is randomly picked. She couldn't track anything for me but she told me the best place to get the answer is my dealership as you said. I am going to call the dealer again tomorrow to see what I can find out. I don't really want to talk the Manger there but I will if I am not getting any answer from him. Thanks for your input.

I ordered my Versa on Oct 28...still waiting. I got the S model, blueberry. I called the dealership and they told me it'll be in this week and I don't think it's going to happen. I don't even have a VIN.

Does anyone know if there's a longer wait for the blueberry??

Blueberry (Sapphire Blue in the US) and Black seem to be the two least common colors currently coming out of the factory. Most common currently are silver and red.

If they don't have a VIN, they probably don't have a car... I mean, MAYBE if they're doing a dealer trade, but...

I agree with EV. A VIN is a sign that the car is completed or very close to it. Dealers track vehicles through order numbers and as soon as the engine meets with the car, it gets a VIN.

We ordered our Versa in mid August. SL-Red-CVT-ABS-Splash guards. Our order was cancelled by Nissan without telling the dealership :mad . Thanks to our dealership watching the order, it was replaced. We got a VIN 2 weeks ago. I called to check and it was put on rail 11/17 and is expexted to be in around 12/7. ( 4 months from order) I'll post again when we finally see it!

i called my dealer today and talked to my salesman. i asked him when will my versa come in and he weren't able to tell me (and i had my vin for more than 2 weeks already), he said there will be a shipment coming in this friday and he said he will c wut happen. how can you not know wut is coming in in two days? at least Tawatenya has an estimate wut date it's coming in..

if i didn't put down my down payment already i would have go for the SX4.. i saw it yesterday in my school and seriously it looks GOOD and it's AWD and with all the standard features it's probably better than the versa except less mpg....

Yeah that doesn't seem right. Once they have a VIN, they should also have an order # and they should be able to check on the status of the car with that.

What? That's insane, why wouldn't they check the order for you? Maybe that's a clue that something's fishy, like they didn't actually order it or something, although you do have a VIN. If I were you I'd call back and talk to the sales manager.

If a dealer is playing dumb, take back you deposit and go somewhere else. Remember this is a business with several thousand even millions invested into it. Several thousands are invested in inventory management also. They know what's coming and what's not. They also know when your car should be coming, but they don't want to promise you anything because they don't want you mad if there's a slight delay from Nissan. Dealers are first given an order number then a VIN both of which can be used to track your vehicle no matter where it goes. I say take your money and work with a dealer that will be honest. I'd rather work with a dealer that admits that they forgot to order than one that pretends they don't know what's going on.

Close

Canada Color = US ColorQM1 Arctic White = Fresh PowderKH3 Ebony = Super BlackK36 Magnetic Grey = Magnetic GreyK23 Airstream = Brilliant SilverB23 Blueberry = Blue OnyxB14 Sapphire Blue = Sapphire BlueA20 Matador Red = Red Alert

No Blueberry with the Tech Package 6MT in Nova Scotia... closest I can get is Ebony/Super Black with the CVT... that's pretty much the only SL with Tech Package in the entire province...

Everywhere I look, SL's with CVT, or S models... big surprise they're offering 3.9% with 90 days no payment on the S models :P

I ordered a blueberry versa in October & was told it would take 12 weeks, give or take. I was asked if I would accept a different colour if one came before the blueberry. I don't care too much about the colour, as long as it's not white, and the interior must be beige to hide the beige dog hair. So I wait. Have no idea what colour of versa I will end up with, but am hoping the versa negotiates the back alley snowdrifts more successfully than my beetle.

Yess... another Seattlite.

Would you guys come to the NICO meet in April? I don't want to be the only Versa there.

Ordered a S model with Auto trans, ABS and VOP. Got a red one. Took it about 7-8 days to get to the dealer - they vacuumed it, took off the plastic and I got my hands on it 2 days later. Guess the S models are easier to find then the SLs. Didn't want the CVT either, so maybe another factor in my favour.

For those who are waiting long times for their cars, try and negotiate a loaner car with the dealer as fair compensation for waiting an inordinate amount of time for delivery. Otherwise, threaten to back out of the deal and demand your deposit back. After all, you are eating that cost of partially financing your non-existent car. You having one of their cars - even a used one- gives them an additional incentive to complete your sale, as they don't have your money, nor are they able to sell the car you are using. I had a loaner car that I picked up the day after we closed the deal for our Versa and handed it back in when I picked up the new car.

Not entirely correct. When you "order" one from allocation, you're just putting down a small deposit. You are not opening or signing for a loan until the car comes in and you do the paperwork. You are making no payments for the time the car is coming.
