I dont think your good at noticing similarities between designs but the headlights, an integral characteristic of a cars soul, in the McLaren are like the Z's and such an epic car would be the best candidate for the next Z design.

Keeping the same design doesnt cut it with the big boss at Nissan... and if the McLaren is not good enough for you as a future Z I could only imagine the ugly design you would pick if you had to chose.

McLaren has no official part in the z chassis history. Nothing at all. So no, Nissan should not make the z32 look like another manufacturer's work. Besides, the McLaren f1 is hideous.

I dont think anyone would care about an underlying design if a McLaren look alike came out... but really making a design that everyone likes would be like chasing the mystical unicorn. It would be nice if more people or designers tried to design in the same design spirit, but I dont think the rewards are worth it to take on such a difficult task.

Since the Zeds release, Nissan could have used many of its previous designs to make a sporty looker, but there is a conspiracy among car companies not to. This is why concepts usually never look as good when the production comes out.

I don't think that the guys on here are mad or irritated that you are trying to change the Z to make it your own. I for one applaud you for wanting to do so. I think what bothers the piss out of most of us including myself is that you started with a design and started to modify your car then right in the middle of it changed it up. Then you decided to go about it with making a cnc machine, then the design changed, then the design changed, then the design changed. I think that if you would be decisive in what you were wanting off the bat you wouldn't be failing as much as you have.

I think that if you would have kept the design to yourself until you were ready for building it would be a different story. Finalize a design, make a foam mold, cover with aluminum foil, cover with fiberglass, peel away from foam, cover mold with aluminum foil, cover with fiberglass, peel away from mold. That right there would have taken me all of a weekend to get two front bumpers molded and ready for smoothing out. Yes not everyone would agree whether it looks good or not, but at least they would give you credit for fabricating it yourself.

Some of the body kits I like and some I don't but that doesn't mean that I don't respect those for trying.

I feel this is very true, the delays and specially with the design changing over and over again... but Ive had over 20 threads in 10 different forum and they're not all like this threads. Along the way I learnt new building techniques like vacuum forming plastic and my designing has matured overtime.
If you can imagine a graph, one line being a good design and another my CNC machines completion, when those two lines meet is when the kit will be executed. I dont mind any rants or general talk in this thread just when someone is angered about this threads existence they should not come in here or atleast this thread could be moved to an unpopular section of Nico for people who are interested.

Well thanks for the big font, it is easier to read but like I pointed out earlier there are Z enthusiasts who actually like my work. A good majority of people who buy Z's today buy it for the looks because design is a big factor in choosing a car. You dont like my designs, fine, but you certainly dont speak for the rest of Z or car owners on this planet.
