Hey guys and antz, I was hoping to get an update on the rotors and pads that so many of you guys bought from ebay. I was looking to get a set of these because my other ones are not zinc dichromate and tend to rust a bit. Have you guys had any issues with these ones rusting even though they are coated? what about in the drilled and slotted areas? Any other issues with warping or anything? I dont plan on using the pads right away as my current pads have plenty of life left but what has been your experience with them for when I do get to them? Overall would you buy these again or recommend them? Thanks for the help, these are on sale on ebay for the next day if anyone was curious.

UPDATE: I just found the original thread about this kit and read a few updates from those that bought them. I would still like to hear more thoughts on them seeing as how ive already created another thread.

Also when i go to the ebay listing now and use the compatibility pull down menu for car makes and models, it states that the 2006 m45 base model is not compatible yet the 06 sport model is? Im assuming thats incorrect? It also states in the same listing that they will work for 2006-2009 m35-m45 and doesnt mention anything of sport or base.

I think same rotors should work on M35-M45 years 06-10 regardless of sport or base.

For example, when you buying OEM rotors, it shows something like this....

I am assuming it is the same for all types or rotors (front and rear). But for the pads it is different.

Alright so the pads should also work for a 06 non-sport model?

Front pads are the same for 06-07. But for some reason rears are different depending on car manufacturing date...

Over 6 miles and still good here too!

Now, i am devising a list of parts and prices for my 60,000 mile maintenance work. I don't feel like paying stealership markups on OEM stuff I can buy online (dealer states they won't put on any aftermarket stuff, so gotta find OEM parts).

OK, seems those are great brake packages.

Does anyone know if they work on '06 base model? According to the ebay list, it only works with sports model, is this true? I was about to order them until I checked the compatibility and it say it is not compatible...

This was my original question too but I haven't received a yes or no yet. I've also asked the ebay seller but no answer yet either. I see the rotors will work but what about the pads on a 06 base model? They say they are compatible with the 07 base m45, is there a difference in brakes between 06 and 07?

I just heard back from 'brakemotive' the ebay seller and they told me that this listing will fit all 06-08 m45 models.

I also had a question on fitment on my 2006 non-Sport. I called the Company, and they assured me they would work. I installed them last week, and while I only have a few hundred miles on them, they are much better than stock as far as feel and modulation.

I remember I read in an earlier thread that our cars go through brake pads and rotors faster than your average car. My car just turned over 18K miles and my front brake pads are starting to squeek. It just makes no sense that my pads probably need to be changed, at least the front, with such little mileage. What makes me laugh even more than that is the that the dealership sent me a letter explaining that my tires need to be changed. I checked them and they still look new with lots of tread. Anyway, I am probably going to take your advice and change the pads with other than OEM. Not only to save money but to get the best bang for my buck.

Hawk HPS pads are the best, a tiny bit pricey though. But definitely the best stopping power, lowest amount of dust, and least sqealing.

i have had my ebay rotors for about a year and 3 months on the car, with the hawk pads. i have no complaints especially for th eprice i paid 130 for all 4 cross drilled and slottted rotrs with the shipping. then i got the hawk pads from discounttires.com no problems as of yet. i just need an alignment before i eat through another set of tires. luckily my 'M' does not get driven that much only about 4k miles in the last year or so.

installed mine about a month ago and they look great. Couldnt be more happy especially for the price. I installed them with the brake pads that came with the rotors and they work well. No rust and not much brake dust after the initial install and breakin period. Im sure youll like them too. Changes the look of the car for sure.

I think they are a fantastic cosmetic and performance upgrade for such a low price...can't spend the hard earned cash on a BBK right now, but i can always dream!!

I've got over 10,000 miles (both city and highway) on my set , they stop straight and true, and there's still no rust and very little dust!!!!
